Exodus 15:1-21

1 Then the sons of Moses and Israel sang this song to Jehovah, and spoke, saying, I will sing to Jehovah, for He has triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider He has thrown into the sea. 2 Jehovah is my strength and song, and He has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will glorify Him, my father's God, and I will exalt Him. 3 Jehovah is a Man of war; Jehovah is His name. 4 Pharaoh's chariots and his army He has thrown into the sea; his chosen captains also are drowned in the Red Sea. 5 The depths have covered them; they sank into the bottom like a stone. 6 Your right hand, O Jehovah, has become glorious in power. Your right hand, O Jehovah, has dashed the enemy in pieces. 7 And in the greatness of Your excellency You have overthrown them that rose up against You. You sent forth Your wrath, consuming them like stubble. 8 And with the blast of Your nostrils the waters were gathered together; the floods stood upright like a heap; the depths were curdled in the heart of the sea. 9 The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my lust shall be satisfied upon them, I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them. 10 You blew with Your wind; the sea covered them. They sank like lead in the mighty waters. 11 Who is like You, O Jehovah, among the gods? Who is like You, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders? 12 You stretched out Your right hand, the earth swallowed them. 13 You in Your mercy have led forth the people which You have redeemed. You have guided them in Your strength to Your holy habitation. 14 The people shall hear, being afraid. Sorrow shall take hold on the people of Philistia. 15 Then the princes of Edom were terrified. Trembling seized upon the mighty men of Moab. All the people of Canaan shall melt away. 16 Fear and dread shall fall upon them. By the greatness of Your arm they shall be still as a stone, until Your people pass over, O Jehovah; until the people whom You have purchased pass over. 17 You shall bring them and plant them in the mountain of Your inheritance, the place, O Jehovah, You have made for You to dwell in; the Sanctuary, O Jehovah, which Your hands have established. 18 Jehovah shall reign forever and ever. 19 For the horses of Pharaoh went in with his chariots and with his horsemen into the sea, and Jehovah brought again the waters of the sea upon them. But the sons of Israel went on dry land in the middle of the sea. 20 And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand. And all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances. 21 And Miriam answered them, Sing to Jehovah, for He has triumphed gloriously. The horse and his rider He has thrown into the sea.

Judges 5:1-31

1 Then Deborah and Barak the son of Abinoam sang on that day, saying, 2 Praise Jehovah for the avenging of Israel, when the people willingly offered themselves. 3 Hear, O, kings. Give ear, O, princes. I, even I, will sing to Jehovah, I will sing to Jehovah, the God of Israel. 4 Jehovah, when You went out of Seir, when You marched out of the field of Edom, the earth trembled and the heavens dropped, the clouds also dropped water. 5 The mountains quaked from before Jehovah, even that Sinai from before Jehovah, the God of Israel. 6 In the days of Shamgar the son of Anath, in the days of Jael, the highways were empty, and the travelers walked through crooked ways. 7 The leaders ceased in Israel, they ceased until I, Deborah, arose; until I arose, a mother in Israel. 8 They chose new gods; then war was in the gates. Was there a shield or spear seen among forty thousand in Israel? 9 My heart is toward the lawgivers of Israel who offered themselves willingly among the people. Bless Jehovah. 10 Speak, you who ride on white asses, you who sit in judgment and walk by the way. 11 Louder than the voice of the dividers between the watering places, there shall they tell again the righteous acts of Jehovah, the righteous acts of His leaders in Israel. Then shall the people of Jehovah go down to the gates. 12 Awake, awake, Deborah. Awake, awake, sing a song. Arise, Barak, lead your captivity captive, son of Abinoam. 13 Then He made me tread on the remnant of the nobles among the people. Jehovah made me have dominion over the mighty. 14 Out of Ephraim there was a root of them against Amalek; after you, Benjamin, with your peoples. Out of Machir came down commanders, and out of Zebulun came they who handle the pen of the writer. 15 And the rulers of Issachar were with Deborah, even Issachar, and also Barak. He was sent on foot into the valley. There were great thoughts of heart for the divisions of Reuben. 16 Why did you stay among the sheepfolds to hear the bleating of the flocks? For in the divisions of Reuben there were great searchings of heart. 17 Gilead stayed beyond Jordan. And why did Dan remain in ships? Asher continued on the seashore and remained in his havens. 18 Zebulun and Naphtali were a people who put their lives in danger of death in the high places of the field. 19 Kings came and fought. Then the kings of Canaan fought in Taanach by the waters of Megiddo. They took no gain of silver. 20 They fought from heaven; the stars in their courses fought against Sisera. 21 The river of Kishon swept them away, that ancient river, the river Kishon. O my soul, you trampled in strength. 22 Then did the hooves of horses beat, from the galloping, the galloping of their mighty ones. 23 Curse Meroz, said the Angel of Jehovah; curse the people of it bitterly, because they did not come to the help of Jehovah, to the help of Jehovah against the mighty. 24 Blessed among women shall Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite be. She shall be blessed above women in the tent. 25 He asked for water, and she gave him milk. She brought forth butter in a lordly dish. 26 She put her hand to the peg, and her right hand to the workman's hammer; she hammered Sisera; she smashed his head, she pierced and struck through his temple. 27 He bowed between her feet, he fell, he lay down. Between her feet he bowed; he fell. Where he bowed, there he fell down dead. 28 The mother of Sisera looked out a window, and cried through the lattice, Why is his chariot so long in coming? Why do the wheels of his chariot wait? 29 Her wise ladies answered her, yea, she returned answer to herself, 30 Do they not find and divide the spoil? A womb, two wombs to a man's head, to Sisera a prize of dyed garments, a prize of embroidered dyed garments for the necks of those that take the spoil. 31 So let all Your enemies perish, O Jehovah. But let them that love Him be like the sun when he goes forth in his might. And the land had rest forty years.

1 Samuel 2:1-10

1 And Hannah prayed and said, My heart rejoices in Jehovah, my horn is exalted in Jehovah. My mouth is enlarged over my enemies because I rejoice in Your salvation. 2 There is none holy as Jehovah, for there is none beside You. Neither is there any rock like our God. 3 Talk no more so very proudly. Remove arrogance out of your mouth, for Jehovah is a God of knowledge, and by Him actions are weighed. 4 The bows of the mighty are broken, and they that stumbled are girded with strength. 5 They that were full have hired themselves out for bread, and they that were hungry ceased; yea, while the barren has borne seven, and she who had many sons has languished. 6 Jehovah kills and makes alive. He brings down to Sheol, and brings up. 7 Jehovah takes away, and He gives riches; He brings low; yea, He lifts up high. 8 He raises up the poor out of the dust; He lifts up the needy from the dunghill to set them among princes; yea, He causes them to inherit a throne of honor; for to Jehovah are the pillars of the earth; and He sets the habitable world on them. 9 He keeps the feet of his saints, and the wicked are silenced in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail. 10 The foes of Jehovah shall be broken to pieces. He thunders in the heavens upon them. Jehovah shall judge the ends of the earth. And He shall give strength to His king, and exalts the horn of His anointed.

2 Samuel 22:1-51

1 And David spoke to Jehovah the words of this song in the day Jehovah had delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul. 2 And he said, Jehovah is my Rock, and my Fortress, and my Deliverer. 3 The God who is my Rock, in Him will I trust. He is my Shield, and the Horn of my salvation, my High Tower, and my Refuge, my Savior. You save me from violence. 4 I will call upon Jehovah, who is worthy to be praised. And I shall be saved from my enemies. 5 When the waves of death encircled me, the floods of ungodly men made me afraid. 6 The sorrows of hell hemmed me in. The snares of death went in front of me. 7 In my distress I called upon Jehovah and cried to my God. And he heard my voice out of His temple, and my cry entered into His ears. 8 And the earth shook and trembled. The foundations of the heavens moved and shook because He was angry. 9 Smoke went up out of His nostrils, and fire out of His mouth devoured. Coals were kindled by it. 10 He bowed the heavens also, and came down. And darkness was under His feet. 11 And He rode upon a cherub and did fly. And He was seen upon the wings of the wind. 12 And He made darkness coverings around Him, dark waters, thick clouds of the skies. 13 From the brightness before Him were coals of fire kindled. 14 Jehovah thundered from the heavens, and the Most High uttered His voice. 15 And He sent out arrows, and scattered them; lightning, and troubled them. 16 And the channels of the sea appeared, the foundations of the world were uncovered, at the rebuking of Jehovah, at the blast of the breath of His nostrils. 17 He sent from above, He took me. He drew me out of many waters. 18 He delivered me from my strong enemy, from those who hated me; for they were stronger than I. 19 They went before me in the day of my calamity, but Jehovah was my stay. 20 He brought me forth also into a large place. He delivered me because He delighted in me. 21 Jehovah rewarded me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands He has rewarded me. 22 For I have kept the ways of Jehovah, and have not wickedly departed from my God. 23 For all His judgments were before me. And as for His statutes, I did not depart from them. 24 I was also upright before Him, and have kept myself from my iniquity. 25 And Jehovah rewarded me according to my righteousness, according to my cleanness in His eyes. 26 With the faithful You will show Yourself faithful; with the upright man You will show Yourself upright. 27 With the pure You will show Yourself pure; and with the perverted You will appear perverse. 28 And You will save the afflicted people, but Your eyes are on the proud, whom You bring low. 29 For You are my lamp, O Jehovah. And Jehovah will lighten my darkness. 30 For by You I have run through a troop. By my God I have leaped over a wall. 31 As for God, His way is perfect. The Word of Jehovah is tried. He is a shield to all those who seek refuge in Him. 32 For who is God, except Jehovah? And who is a rock except our God? 33 God is my strength and power, and He makes my way perfect. 34 He makes my feet like hinds' feet, and causing me to stand on my high places. 35 He teaches my hands to war, so that my hands may bend a bow of bronze. 36 You have also given me the shield of Your salvation, and Your gentleness has made me great. 37 You have enlarged my steps under me, so that my feet did not slip. 38 I have pursued my enemies and destroyed them, and turned not again until I had finished them. 39 And I have crushed them and wounded them so that they could not rise. Yea, they have fallen under my feet. 40 For You have girded me with strength to battle. You have subdued under me those who rose up against me. 41 You have also given me the necks of my enemies; I silenced those who hate me. 42 They looked, but there was none to save; to Jehovah, but He did not answer them. 43 Then I beat them as small as the dust of the earth, I stamped them like the mire of the streets and spread them out. 44 You have also delivered me from the strivings of my people, You have kept me the head of the nations. A people I knew not shall serve me. 45 Strangers shall submit themselves to me. As soon as they hear, they shall obey me. 46 Strangers shall fade away, and they shall be afraid out of their strongholds. 47 Jehovah lives! And blessed be my Rock, and exalted be the God, the Rock of my salvation. 48 It is God who avenges me and who brings down the peoples under me, 49 and who brings me forth from my enemies. You also lift me up on high above those rising up against me. You deliver me from the violent man. 50 Therefore, I will give thanks to You, O Jehovah, among the heathen, and I will sing praises to Your name. 51 He is the Tower of salvation for His king, and He shows mercy to His anointed, to David and to his seed, forevermore.

Call on His name; declare His doings among the people, make mention that His name is exalted. 5 Sing to Jehovah; for He has done excellent things; this is known in all the earth. 6 Cry out and shout, O dweller of Zion; for great is the Holy One of Israel in your midst.
