¹ A Song of degrees. In my trouble I cried to Jehovah, and He heard me.

⁶ In my distress I called on Jehovah, and I cried to my God; He heard my voice out of His temple, and my cry came before Him, into His ears.

⁷ O Jehovah, by Your favor You have made my mountain to stand strong; You hid Your face, and I was troubled. ⁸ I cried to You, O Jehovah; and I prayed to Jehovah.

¹⁵ and call on Me in the day of trouble; and I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.

² Hide not Your face from me in the day when I am in trouble; bow down Your ear to me; in the day I call, answer me quickly.

¹³ Then they cried to Jehovah in their distress, and He saved them out of their troubles.

³ The sorrows of death hemmed me in, and the pains of hell took hold on me; I found trouble and sorrow. ⁴ Then I called on the name of Jehovah; O Jehovah, I beseech You, deliver my soul.

⁵ I called on Jehovah in distress; Jehovah answered me, and set me in a large place.

And you shall lift up your prayer for the remnant that is left.

¹⁴ And Hezekiah received the letter from the courier's hand, and read it. And Hezekiah went up into the house of Jehovah and spread it before Jehovah. ¹⁵ And Hezekiah prayed to the Lord, saying, ¹⁶ O Jehovah of Hosts, God of Israel, who dwells between the cherubs, You are He, God, You alone to all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made the heavens and the earth. ¹⁷ Bow down Your ear, O Jehovah, and hear; open Your eyes, O Jehovah, and see; and hear all the words of Sennacherib which he has sent to mock the living God. ¹⁸ Truly, O Jehovah, the kings of Assyria have laid waste all the nations and their land, ¹⁹ and have cast their gods into the fire, for they were no gods, but the work of men's hands, wood and stone; so they have destroyed them. ²⁰ And now, O Jehovah our God, save us from his hand, so that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that You are Jehovah, You alone.

² Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed to Jehovah, ³ and said, Remember now, O Jehovah, I beseech You, how I have walked before You in truth and with a whole heart, and have done the good in Your sight. And Hezekiah wept with a great weeping. ⁴ Then came the Word of Jehovah to Isaiah, saying, ⁵ Go and say to Hezekiah: So says Jehovah, the God of David your father, I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; behold, I will add to your days fifteen years.

² and he said, I cried to Jehovah from my distress. And He answered me. Out of the belly of Sheol I cried for help, and You heard my voice.

⁴⁴ And being in an agony He prayed more earnestly. And His sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

⁷ For Jesus, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications with strong cryings and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard in that He feared,
