¹ Better is the poor who walks in his integrity than he who is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.

¹⁷ And now know and consider what you will do, for evil is determined against our master and against all his household. For he is a son of worthlessness, so that none can speak to him.

²⁵ Please do not let my lord regard this man of worthlessness, Nabal. For as his name is, so he is. Nabal is his name, and foolishness is with him. And I, your handmaid, did not see the young men of my lord, whom you sent.

¹¹ But I will walk in my truthfulness; redeem me and be merciful to me.

²⁶ All the day long he deals graciously, and lends; and his seed is blessed.

²⁶ The righteous is more excellent than his neighbor, but the way of the wicked seduces them.

² He who walks in his uprightness fears Jehovah, but he who is perverse in his ways despises Him.

¹⁶ Better is a little with the fear of Jehovah than great treasure and tumult with it.

²² The charm of a man is his kindness, and a poor man is better than a liar.

How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.

²⁶ For what is a man profited if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

⁵ Listen, my beloved brothers, has not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He has promised to those who love Him? ⁶ But you dishonored the poor one. Do not rich men oppress you and draw you before the judgment seats?
