¹ And Moses spoke to the heads of the tribes concerning the sons of Israel, saying, This is the thing which Jehovah has commanded: ² If a man vows a vow to Jehovah, or swears an oath to bind his soul with a bond, he shall not break his word. He shall do according to all that comes out of his mouth. ³ If a woman also vows a vow to Jehovah, and binds herself by a bond, being in her father's house in her youth, ⁴ and if her father hears her vow and her bond with which she has bound her soul, and if her father is silent as to her, then all her vows shall stand, and every bond with which she has bound her soul shall stand. ⁵ But if her father does not allow her in the day that he hears, not any of her vows or of her bonds with which she has bound her soul shall stand. And Jehovah shall forgive her because her father did not allow her. ⁶ And if she had a husband when she vowed, or if she said anything rash out of her lips with which she bound her soul, ⁷ and if her husband heard and is silent as to her in the day that he heard, then her vows shall stand, and her bonds with which she bound her soul shall stand. ⁸ But if her husband did not allow her on the day that he heard it, then he shall make her vow which she vowed, and that which she uttered with her lips, with which she bound her soul, of no effect. And Jehovah shall forgive her. ⁹ But every vow of a widow and of her who is divorced, all which she has bound on her soul shall stand against her. ¹⁰ And if she vowed in her husband's house, or bound her soul by a bond with an oath, ¹¹ and if her husband heard and is silent as to her, and did not forbid her, then all her vows shall stand, and every bond with which she bound her soul shall stand. ¹² But if her husband has certainly broken them on the day he heard, whatever comes out of her lips concerning her vows or concerning the bond of her soul, shall not stand. Her husband has broken them. And Jehovah shall forgive her. ¹³ Every vow and every binding oath to afflict the soul, her husband may establish it, or her husband may break it. ¹⁴ But if her husband is altogether silent as to her from day to day, then he establishes all her vows or all her bonds which are on her. He confirms them, because he was silent as to her in the day that he heard. ¹⁵ But if he at all breaks them after he has heard, then he has borne her iniquity. ¹⁶ These are the statutes which Jehovah commanded Moses, between a man and his wife, between the father and his daughter in her youth in her father's house.

¹⁶ To the woman He said, I will greatly increase your sorrow and your conception. In pain you shall bear sons, and your desire shall be toward your husband, and he shall rule over you.

²⁰ And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat and clothing to put on, ²¹ and I come again to my father's house in peace, then shall Jehovah be my God. ²² And this stone which I have set for a pillar shall be God's house. And of all that You shall give me, I will surely give the tenth to You.

²⁵ And Moses chose able men out of all Israel, and made them heads over the people, rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.

⁷ You shall not take the name of Jehovah your God in vain. For Jehovah will not hold him guiltless that takes His name in vain.

¹ And if a soul sins and hears the voice of swearing, and is a witness, and he has seen or known, if he does not tell it, then he shall bear his iniquity.

⁴ Or if a soul swears, pronouncing with his lips to do evil or to do good, whatever it is that a man speaks rashly with an oath, and it is hidden from him, and he knows, then he shall be guilty of one of these.

⁴⁶ This is the law of the animals, and of the fowl, and of every living creature that moves in the waters, and of every creature that swarms on the earth, ⁴⁷ to make a difference between the unclean and the clean, and between the creature that may be eaten and the creature that may not be eaten.

⁵⁹ This is the law of the plague of leprosy in a garment of woolen or linen, either in the warp or woof or anything of skins, to pronounce it clean or to pronounce it unclean.

⁵⁴ This is the law for all kinds of plague of leprosy and scab, ⁵⁵ and for the leprosy of a garment and of a house, ⁵⁶ and for a rising and for a scab and for a bright spot, ⁵⁷ to teach when it is unclean and when it is clean. This is the law of leprosy.

³² This is the law of him that has an issue, and of him whose semen goes from him and is defiled with it, ³³ and of her that is menstruating, and of him that has an issue, of the man, and of the woman, and of him that lies with an unclean woman.

²⁹ And it shall be a statute forever to you: in the seventh month, on the tenth of the month, you shall afflict your souls and do no work at all, the native and the alien who is staying among you.

⁷ They shall not take a wife who is a whore, or defiled. Neither shall they take a woman put away from her husband. For he is holy to his God.

²⁷ Also, on the tenth of this seventh month, this is a day of atonement. It shall be a holy convocation to you. And you shall afflict your souls and offer a fire offering to Jehovah.

³² It shall be to you a sabbath of rest, and you shall humble your souls. In the ninth of the month at evening, from evening to evening, you shall keep your sabbath.

² Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, When a man shall make a special vow, the persons shall be for Jehovah by your evaluation. ³ And your judgment shall be of the male from twenty years old even to sixty years old, even your judgment shall be fifty shekels of silver, after the shekel of the sanctuary. ⁴ And if it is a female, then your judgment shall be thirty shekels. ⁵ And if from five years old to twenty years old, then your judgment shall be of the male twenty shekels, and for the female ten shekels. ⁶ And if from a month old to five years old, then your judgment shall be of the male five shekels of silver, and for the female your judgment shall be three shekels of silver. ⁷ And if from sixty years old and above, if it is a male then your judgment shall be fifteen shekels, and for the female ten shekels. ⁸ But if he is poorer than your judgment, then he shall present himself before the priest, and the priest shall value him. The priest shall value him according to the ability of him who vowed. ⁹ And if it is an animal of which they bring an offering to Jehovah, all that one gives of such to Jehovah shall be holy. ¹⁰ He shall not alter it nor change it, a good for a bad, or a bad for a good. And if he shall at all change animal for animal, then it and the exchange of it shall be holy. ¹¹ And if it is any unclean animal, of which they do not offer a sacrifice to Jehovah, then he shall present the animal before the priest. ¹² And the priest shall value it, whether it is good or bad. As you the priest value it, so shall it be. ¹³ But if he will at all redeem it, then he shall add a fifth part of it to what you judged. ¹⁴ And when a man shall sanctify his house to be holy to Jehovah, then the priest shall judge it, whether it is good or bad. As the priest shall judge it, so shall it stand. ¹⁵ And if he who sanctified it desires to redeem his house, then he shall add the fifth part of the silver of your judgment, and it shall be his. ¹⁶ And if a man shall sanctify to Jehovah some part of a field that he owns, then your judgment shall be according to its seed; a homer of barley seed at fifty shekels of silver. ¹⁷ If he sanctifies his field from the year of jubilee, according to your judgment it shall stand. ¹⁸ But if he sanctifies his field after the jubilee, then the priest shall reckon to him the silver according to the years that remain, even until the year of jubilee, and it shall be taken from your estimation. ¹⁹ And if he who sanctified the field desires in any way to redeem it, then he shall add the fifth part of the money of your estimation to it, and it shall be made sure to him. ²⁰ And if he will not redeem the field, or if he has sold the field to another man, it shall not be redeemed any more. ²¹ But the field, when it goes out in the jubilee, shall be holy to Jehovah, as a field devoted. The possession of it shall be the priest's. ²² And if a man sanctifies to Jehovah a field which he has bought, which is not of the fields he owns, ²³ then the priest shall count to him the worth of your estimation, until the year of jubilee. And he shall give your estimation in that day, a holy thing to Jehovah. ²⁴ In the year of the jubilee the field shall return to him from whom it was bought, to him who owns it in the land. ²⁵ And all your judgments shall be according to the shekel of the sanctuary, twenty gerahs shall be the shekel. ²⁶ However, the first-born of an animal, which should be Jehovah's first-born, no man shall sanctify it, whether an ox, or sheep, it is Jehovah's. ²⁷ And if it is of an unclean animal, then he shall redeem it according to your estimation, and shall add a fifth part of it to it. Or if it is not redeemed, then it shall be sold according to your estimation. ²⁸ However, no devoted thing that a man shall devote to Jehovah of all that he has, either of man or animal, or of the field of his possession, shall be sold or redeemed. Every devoted thing is most holy to Jehovah. ²⁹ Nothing devoted, which shall be devoted of men, shall be redeemed, but shall surely be put to death. ³⁰ And all the tithe of the land, of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is Jehovah's. It is holy to Jehovah. ³¹ And if a man will at all redeem anything of his tithes, he shall add to it the fifth part of it. ³² And all the tithe of the herd, or of the flock, all that passes under the rod, a tenth shall be holy to Jehovah ³³ He shall not search whether it is good or bad, neither shall he change it. And if he changes it at all, then both it and the change of it shall be holy. It shall not be redeemed. ³⁴ These are the commandments which Jehovah commanded Moses for the sons of Israel in Mount Sinai.

⁴ And with you there shall be a man of every tribe, each one head of the house of his fathers. ⁵ And these are the names of the men that shall stand with you: of Reuben, Elizur, the son of Shedeur; ⁶ of Simeon, Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai; ⁷ of Judah, Nahshon the son of Amminadab; ⁸ of Issachar, Nethaneel the son of Zuar; ⁹ of Zebulun, Eliab the son of Helon; ¹⁰ of the sons of Joseph; of Ephraim, Elishama the son of Ammihud; of Manasseh, Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur; ¹¹ of Benjamin, Abidan the son of Gideoni; ¹² of Dan, Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai; ¹³ of Asher, Pagiel the son of Ocran; ¹⁴ of Gad, Eliasaph the son of Reuel; ¹⁵ of Naphtali, Ahira the son of Enan. ¹⁶ These were the noted ones of the congregation, rulers of the tribes of their fathers, heads of thousands in Israel.

²⁹ This is the law of jealousies when a woman goes aside, being under her husband, and is defiled. ³⁰ Or when the spirit of jealousy comes on a man, and he is jealous over his wife, and shall set the woman before Jehovah, and the priest shall execute upon her all this law.

² and the rulers of Israel offered, the head men of their fathers' house, the rulers of the tribes; these were they who stood over the numbered ones.

²⁵ And the priest shall make an atonement for all the congregation of the sons of Israel, and it shall be forgiven them, for it is ignorance. And they shall bring their offering, a sacrifice made by fire to Jehovah, and their sin offering before Jehovah, for their ignorance.

²⁸ And the priest shall make an atonement for the soul, when he sins through error before Jehovah, to make an atonement for him. And it shall be forgiven him.

² And Israel vowed a vow to Jehovah and said, If You will indeed deliver this people into my hand, then I will completely destroy their cities.

Of the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh. ²⁰ And of the tribe of the sons of Simeon, Shemuel the son of Ammihud. ²¹ And of the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad the son of Chislon. ²² And the ruler of the tribe of the sons of Dan, Bukki the son of Jogli. ²³ The ruler of the sons of Joseph, for the tribe of the sons of Manasseh, Hanniel the son of Ephod. ²⁴ And the ruler of the tribe of the sons of Ephraim, Kemuel the son of Shiphtan. ²⁵ And the ruler of the tribe of the sons of Zebulun, Elizaphan the son of Parnach. ²⁶ And the ruler of the tribe of the sons of Issachar, Paltiel, the son of Azzan. ²⁷ And the ruler of the tribe of the sons of Asher, Ahihud the son of Shelomi. ²⁸ And the ruler of the tribe of the sons of Naphtali, Pedahel the son of Ammihud.

¹³ Give wise and understanding men, and those known to your tribes, and I will appoint them rulers over you. ¹⁴ And you answered me and said, The thing which you have spoken is good to do. ¹⁵ And I took the chiefs of your tribes, wise and noted men, and made them heads over you, captains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, and captains over fifties, and captains over tens, and officers among your tribes. ¹⁶ And I commanded your judges at that time saying, Hear the causes between your brothers, and judge righteously between a man and his brother, and the stranger with him. ¹⁷ You shall not respect persons in judgment. You shall hear the small as well as the great. You shall not be afraid of the face of man, for the judgment is God's. And the cause that is too hard for you, bring to me, and I will hear it.

²¹ When you shall vow a vow to Jehovah your God, you shall not wait to pay it, for Jehovah your God will surely require it of you, and it would be sin in you. ²² But if you shall cease to vow, it shall be no sin in you. ²³ That which has gone out of your lips you shall keep and perform, even a free-will offering, according as you have vowed to Jehovah your God, which you have promised with your mouth.

¹¹ And Jephthah went with the elders of Gilead, and the people made him head and commander over them. And Jephthah uttered all his words before Jehovah in Mizpeh.

³⁰ And Jephthah vowed a vow to Jehovah, and said, If You will indeed give the sons of Ammon into my hand, ³¹ then it shall be that whatever comes out from the doors of my house to meet me when I return in peace from the sons of Ammon, surely it shall belong to Jehovah, or I will offer it up instead of a burnt offering.

³⁵ And it happened when he saw her, he tore his clothes and said, Alas, my daughter! You have brought me very low, and you are one of those who trouble me. For I have opened my mouth to Jehovah, and I cannot go back. ³⁶ And she said to him, My father, you have opened your mouth to the Lord; do to me according to that which has come out of your mouth, because Jehovah has taken vengeance for you upon your enemies, even of the sons of Ammon.

³⁹ And it happened at the end of two months she returned to her father, who did to her his vow which he had vowed. And she knew no man. And it is a custom in Israel,

²¹ Then I called a fast there at the river Ahava, so that we might humble ourselves before our God, in order to seek from Him a right way for us and for our little ones, and for all our goods.

²⁷ You shall make your prayer to Him, and He shall hear you, and you shall pay your vows.

³ he does not backbite with his tongue, nor does evil to his neighbor, nor takes up a reproach against his neighbor;

²⁵ My praise shall be of You in the great congregation; I will pay My vows before the ones who fear Him.

¹³ But when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth; I humbled my soul with fastings; and my prayer returned into my own bosom.

¹⁴ Offer to God thanksgiving; and pay your vows to the Most High;

²⁰ He has put forth his hands against those who were at peace with him; he has broken his covenant.

¹² Your vows are on me, O God; I will give praises to You.

¹³ I will go into Your house with burnt offerings; I will pay You my vows, ¹⁴ those which my lips have uttered and my mouth has spoken in my trouble.

¹¹ Vow, and pay to Jehovah your God; let all that are around Him bring presents to the Fearful One.

¹⁴ I will pay my vows to Jehovah now in the presence of all His people.

¹⁸ I will pay my vows to Jehovah now in the presence of all His people,

¹⁰⁶ I have sworn, and I raised it, that I will keep Your righteous judgments.

²⁵ It is a snare to a man to say rashly, A holy thing, and afterward vows to ask about it.

⁴ When you vow a vow to God, do not wait to pay it. For He has no pleasure in fools. Pay that which you have vowed. ⁵ it is better that you should not vow, than that you should vow and not pay.

⁵ Is it such a fast that I have chosen? A day for a man to afflict his soul? Is it to bow down his head like a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? Will you call this a fast and a day pleasing to Jehovah?

⁶ For I desired mercy and not sacrifice, and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.

¹⁵ Behold upon the mountains the feet of Him who brings good news, making it heard, Peace! O Judah, keep your appointed feasts, fulfill your vows; for the wicked shall pass through you no more; he is completely cut off.

³³ Again, you have heard that it has been said to the ancients, "You shall not swear falsely, but you shall perform your oaths to the Lord." ³⁴ But I say to you, Do not swear at all! Not by Heaven, because it is God's throne;

⁷ So he promised with an oath to give her whatever she would ask. ⁸ And she, being instructed before by her mother, said, Give me John the Baptist's head here on a platter. ⁹ And the king was sorry. But for the oath's sake, and those reclining with him, he commanded it to be given.

⁴ For God commanded, saying, "Honor your father and mother"; and, "He who speaks evil of father or mother, let him die by death." ⁵ But you say, Whoever says to his father or mother, Whatever you would gain from me, It is a gift to God; ⁶ and in no way he honors his father or his mother. And you voided the commandment of God by your tradition.

¹⁶ Woe to you, blind guides, saying, Whoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor.

¹⁸ And, Whoever shall swear by the altar, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the gift that is on it, he is a debtor!

¹⁰ For Moses said, "Honor your father and your mother." And, "Whoever curses father or mother, let him die the death." ¹¹ But you say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, Corban! (that is, A gift to God, whatever you may profit by me) ¹² and you no longer allow him to do anything toward his father or mother, ¹³ making the Word of God of no effect through your tradition which you have delivered. And you do many such things.

³⁷ And she was a widow of eighty-four years, who did not depart from the temple, serving God with fastings and prayers night and day.

¹² And when it became day, some of the Jews banded together and bound themselves under a curse, saying that they would neither eat nor drink until they had killed Paul.

¹⁴ And they came to the chief priests and elders and said, We have bound ourselves under a great curse that we will eat nothing until we have killed Paul.

²¹ But do not yield to them, for there are more than forty men of them lying in wait for him, who have bound themselves with an oath that they will neither eat nor drink until they have killed him. And now they are ready, looking for a promise from you.

And come together again so that Satan does not tempt you for your incontinence.

³ But I would have you know that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

⁹ Nor was the man created for the woman, but the woman for the man.

³⁴ Let your women be silent in the churches; for it is not permitted to them to speak, but to be in subjection, as the Law also says.

²³ And I call God as witness to my soul that in order to spare you I have not yet come to Corinth.

⁹ As it is written, "He scattered; he has given to the poor; his righteousness remains forever." ¹⁰ Now He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for eating, may He supply and multiply your seed, and increase the fruits of your righteousness ¹¹ you being enriched in everything to all generosity, which works out thanksgiving to God through us.

²⁸ There cannot be Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is no male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

²² Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands, as to the Lord. ²³ For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. ²⁴ Therefore as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.

¹ Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.

¹ Likewise, wives, be in subjection to your own husbands, so that if any do not obey the Word, they may also be won without the Word by the conduct of the wives, ² having witnessed your chaste behavior in the fear of God. ³ Of whom let not be the adorning of garments, or outward braiding of hair and wearing of gold, or of putting on clothing, ⁴ but let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, the meek and quiet spirit, which is of great price in the sight of God. ⁵ For so once indeed the holy women hoping in God adorned themselves, being in subjection to their own husbands; ⁶ as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord; whose children you became, doing good and fearing no terror.
