¹⁵ Others said that it was Elijah. And others said that he is a prophet, or as one of the prophets.

⁵ Behold, I am sending you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of Jehovah.

¹⁴ And they said, Some say, John the Baptist; some, Elijah; and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.

¹⁷ And he shall go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

¹⁶ And fear came on all. And they glorified God, saying, A great prophet has risen up among us; and, God has visited His people.

³⁹ But seeing this, the Pharisee who had invited Him, spoke within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what kind of woman this is who touches him, for she is a sinner.

⁸ and by some, that Elijah had appeared; and by others, that one of the old prophets had risen again.

¹⁹ Answering, they said, John the Baptist; but some say, Elijah, and others say that one of the old prophets has risen again.

²¹ And they asked him, What then? Are you Elijah? And he says, I am not. Are you that prophet? And he answered, No.

²⁵ And they asked him and said, Why then do you baptize, if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor that Prophet?

¹⁴ Then seeing the miracle that Jesus did, those men said, This is truly the Prophet, the One coming into the world.

⁴⁰ Then when they heard the Word, many of the people said, Truly this is the Prophet.

¹⁷ They said to the blind man again, What do you say about him, for he has opened your eyes? He said, He is a prophet.

²² For Moses truly said to the fathers, "The Lord your God shall raise up a Prophet to you from your brothers, One like me. You shall hear Him in all things, whatever He may say to you. ²³ And it shall be that every soul who will not hear that Prophet shall be destroyed from among the people."
