¹ And He again entered into the synagogue. And a man was there who had a withered hand.

⁴ And it happened when King Jeroboam heard the saying of the man of God who had cried against the altar in Bethel, he put forth his hand from the altar, saying, Lay hold on him! And his hand, which he put forth against him withered up so that he could not pull it in again to himself.

⁹ And when He had departed from there, He went into their synagogue. ¹⁰ And behold, a man having a withered hand. And they asked Him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbaths? This so that they might accuse Him. ¹¹ And He said to them, What man among you will be, who will have one sheep, and if it falls into a pit on the sabbaths, will he not lay hold on it and lift it out? ¹² How much better is a man then than a sheep? Therefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days. ¹³ Then He said to the man, Stretch out your hand. And he stretched it out, and it was restored whole like the other. ¹⁴ Then the Pharisees went out and held council against Him, as to how they might destroy Him.

²¹ And they went into Capernaum. And immediately on the sabbath day He entered into the synagogue and taught.

⁶ And it happened, also on another sabbath, that He entered into the synagogue and taught. And there was a man whose right hand was withered. ⁷ And the scribes and Pharisees watched him to see if He would heal on the sabbath day, so that they might find an accusation against Him. ⁸ But He knew their thoughts and said to the man who had the withered hand, Rise up and stand in the middle. And he arose and stood. ⁹ Then Jesus said to them, I will ask you one thing: Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil, to save life, or to destroy it? ¹⁰ And looking around on them all, He said to the man, Stretch out your hand! And he did so. And his hand was restored whole like the other. ¹¹ And they were filled with madness, and talked with one another as to what they might do to Jesus.
