¹ And it happened when Jabin, king of Hazor, had heard, he sent to Jobab king of Madon, and to the king of Shimron, and to the king of Achshaph,

³ And Adonizedek king of Jerusalem sent to Hoham king of Hebron, and to Piram king of Jarmuth, and to Japhia king of Lachish, and to Debir king of Eglon, saying, ⁴ Come up to me, and help me, so that we may strike Gibeon. For it has made peace with Joshua and with the sons of Israel.

¹⁰ And Joshua at that time turned back and took Hazor, and struck its king with the sword. For Hazor formerly was the head of all those kingdoms.

¹⁹ the king of Madon, one; the king of Hazor, one;

³⁶ and Adamah, and Ramah, and Hazor,

² And Jehovah sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, who ruled in Hazor. The captain of his host was Sisera who lived in Harosheth of the nations.

¹⁷ And Sisera fled on his feet to the tent of Jael, the wife of Heber the Kenite. For there was peace between Jabin the king of Hazor and the house of Heber the Kenite.

¹ Why do the nations rage, and the peoples meditate on a vain thing? ² The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers plot together, against Jehovah and against His anointed, saying, ³ Let us break their bands in two and cast away their cords from us. ⁴ He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; Jehovah shall mock at them.

¹ A Song. A Psalm of Asaph. Keep not silence, O God; do not be speechless, and be not still, O God. ² For lo, Your enemies roar; and those who hate You have lifted up their head. ³ They take shrewd counsel against Your people, and plot against Your hidden ones.

¹¹ Jehovah, Your hand is lifted up, they will not see; but they shall see and be ashamed for their envy toward Your people. Yes, the fire of Your enemies shall devour them.

² When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned; nor shall the flame kindle on you.

⁵ Fear not; for I am with you. I will bring your seed from the east, and gather you from the west. ⁶ I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Do not keep back; bring My sons from far and My daughters from the ends of the earth; ⁷ everyone who is called by My name; for I have created him for My glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.
