²⁵ Since the day that your fathers came out of the land of Egypt until this day I have even sent to you all My servants the prophets, daily rising up early and sending.

⁷ Remember, and do not forget, how you provoked Jehovah your God to wrath in the wilderness. From the day you departed out of the land of Egypt, until you came to this place, you have been rebellious against Jehovah.

²¹ And I took your sin, the calf which you had made, and burned it with fire, and stamped it, grinding it very small, until it was as small as dust. And I threw the dust of it into the torrent that descended out of the mountain. ²² And at Taberah, and at Massah, and at the Graves of Lust, you provoked Jehovah to anger. ²³ And when Jehovah sent you from Kadesh-barnea, saying: Go up and possess the land which I have given you, then you rebelled against the commandment of Jehovah your God, and you did not believe Him, nor listened to His voice. ²⁴ You have been rebellious against Jehovah from the day that I knew you.

⁷ And Jehovah said to Samuel, Listen to the voice of the people in all that they say to you. For they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me, that I should not reign over them. ⁸ According to all the works which they have done since the day that I brought them up out of Egypt even until this day, works with which they have forsaken Me and served other gods, so they do also to you.

¹⁵ And Jehovah, the God of their fathers sent to them by His messengers, rising up early and sending, for He had pity on His people and on His dwelling-place.

⁷ Since the days of our fathers we have been in a great sin until this day. And for our iniquities we, our kings, our priests, have been delivered into the hand of the kings of the lands, to the sword, to captivity, and to a spoil, and to shame of face, as it is this day.

¹⁶ But they and our fathers acted proudly and hardened their necks, and did not listen to Your commandments. ¹⁷ And they refused to obey, neither were they mindful of Your wonders which You did among them. But they hardened their necks, and in their rebellion appointed a captain to return to their bondage. But You are a God ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and did not forsake them. ¹⁸ Yea, when they had made them a molten calf, and said, This is your God who brought you up out of Egypt, and had worked great blasphemies,

²⁶ But they were disobedient and rebelled against You, and cast Your Law behind their backs. And they killed Your prophets who testified against them to turn them to You, and they worked great blasphemies.

³⁰ And many years You had patience with them, and testified against them by Your Spirit, by Your prophets, but they would not give ear. And You gave them into the hand of the people of the lands.

¹³ They hurried and forgot His works; they did not wait for His counsel; ¹⁴ but they lusted greedily in the wilderness, and tested God in the desert. ¹⁵ And He gave them what they asked, but sent leanness into their soul. ¹⁶ And they were jealous of Moses in the camp, and Aaron the saint of Jehovah. ¹⁷ The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, and covered the company of Abiram. ¹⁸ And a fire was kindled in their company; the flame burned up the wicked. ¹⁹ They made a calf in Horeb, and worshiped the melted image. ²⁰ And they changed their Glory into the likeness of an ox that eats grass. ²¹ They forgot God their Deliverer, who had done great things in Egypt; ²² wonderful works in the land of Ham, fearful things by the Red Sea.

¹³ And now, because you have done all these works, says Jehovah, and I spoke to you, rising up early and speaking, but you did not hear; and I called you, but you did not answer;

⁴ And Jehovah has sent to you all His servants the prophets, rising early and sending them; but you have not listened nor bowed down your ear to hear.

³⁰ For the sons of Israel and the sons of Judah have only done evil before Me from their youth. For the sons of Israel have only provoked Me to anger with the work of their hands, says Jehovah. ³¹ For this city has been to Me as a cause of My anger and of My fury from the day that they built it even to this day; that I should remove it from before My face;

³ And He said to me, Son of man, I am sending you to the sons of Israel, to the nations, the rebelling ones who have rebelled against Me; they and their fathers have sinned against Me, to this day.

⁵ And say to them, So says the Lord Jehovah: In the day that I chose Israel, and lifted up My hand to the seed of the house of Jacob, and made Myself known to them in the land of Egypt; when I lifted up My hand to them, saying, I am Jehovah your God; ⁶ in the day that I lifted up My hand to them, to bring them out from the land of Egypt into a land that I had searched out for them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands; ⁷ then I said to them, Let each man throw away the abominations of his eyes, and do not defile yourselves with the idols of Egypt. I am Jehovah your God. ⁸ But they rebelled against Me and would not listen to Me. They did not each man throw away the abominations of their eyes, nor did they forsake the idols of Egypt. And I said, I will pour out My fury against them to fulfill My anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt. ⁹ But I worked for My name's sake, that it should not be profaned before the nations among whom they were, for I made Myself known to them in their eyes, by bringing them out of the land of Egypt. ¹⁰ And I caused them to go out from the land of Egypt, and brought them into the wilderness. ¹¹ And I gave them My statutes and showed them My judgments, which if a man do, he shall even live in them. ¹² And also I gave them My sabbaths to be a sign between Me and them, that they might know that I am Jehovah who sets them apart. ¹³ But the house of Israel rebelled against Me in the wilderness; they did not walk in My statutes, and they despised My judgments, which if a man does, he shall even live in them. And they greatly profaned My sabbaths. And I said, I will pour out My fury on them in the wilderness to destroy them. ¹⁴ But I worked for My name's sake, so that it should not be profaned before the nations in whose sight I brought them out. ¹⁵ And also I lifted up My hand to them in the wilderness, that I would not bring them into the land which I had given them, flowing with milk and honey; it is the glory of all lands; ¹⁶ because they despised My judgments and walked not in My sabbaths; and they profaned My sabbaths; for their heart went after their idols. ¹⁷ But My eye spared them from destroying them, nor did I make an end of them in the wilderness. ¹⁸ But I said to their sons in the wilderness, Do not walk in the statutes of your fathers, nor observe their judgments, nor defile yourselves with their idols. ¹⁹ I am Jehovah your God. Walk in My statutes, and keep My judgments, and do them, ²⁰ and keep My sabbaths holy; and they shall be a sign between Me and you, that you may know that I am Jehovah your God. ²¹ But the sons rebelled against Me. They did not walk in My statutes, nor kept My judgments to do them; the judgments which, if a man do, he shall even live in them; they profaned My sabbaths and I said I would pour out My fury on them, to fulfill My anger against them in the wilderness. ²² But I withdrew My hand and worked for My name's sake, that it should not be profaned in the eyes of the nations, from whom I brought them out in their eyes. ²³ I also lifted up My hand to them in the wilderness, that I would scatter them among the nations and scatter them through the lands, ²⁴ because they had not done My judgments, but had despised My sabbaths and had profaned My sabbaths, and their eyes were after their fathers' idols. ²⁵ Also I gave them statutes not good, and judgments by which they should not live. ²⁶ And I defiled them in their own gifts, in that they caused all that open the womb to pass through the fire, that I might waste them, to the end that they might know that I am Jehovah. ²⁷ Therefore, son of man, speak to the house of Israel and say to them, So says the Lord Jehovah: Yet in this your fathers have blasphemed Me, in that they have committed a sin against Me. ²⁸ When I had brought them into the land for which I lifted up My hand to give it to them, then they saw every high hill, and all the thick trees, and they offered their sacrifices there. And there they offered their provoking gifts. There also they made their sweet aroma, and poured out their drink offerings there. ²⁹ And I said to them, What is the high place to which you go? And the name of it is called High Place to this day. ³⁰ Therefore say to the house of Israel, So says the Lord Jehovah: Are you defiled in the same way as your fathers? And do you go whoring after their abominations? ³¹ For when you offer your gifts, when you make your sons to pass through the fire, you defile yourselves with all your idols, even to this day. And shall I be inquired of by you, O house of Israel? As I Live, says the Lord Jehovah, I will not be inquired of by you. ³² And what comes up on your spirit shall not happen at all, that you say, We will be like the nations, like the families of the countries, to serve wood and stone.

² Son of man, there were two women, the daughters of one mother. ³ And they fornicated in Egypt; they whored in their youth, their breasts were handled, and there their virgin nipples were worked.

³⁴ And when the season of the fruits drew near, he sent his servants to the vinedressers to receive its fruits. ³⁵ And the vinedressers took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another. ³⁶ Again he sent other servants, more than the first, and they did the same to them.

¹⁰ And in season he sent a servant to the vinedressers, so that they should give him the fruit of the vineyard. But the vinedressers beat him and sent him away empty. ¹¹ And again he sent another servant. And they also beat him and treated him shamefully, and sent him away empty. ¹² And again he sent a third. And they also wounded him and cast him out.
