¹ Yet now hear, O Jacob My servant, and Israel whom I have chosen;

⁷ And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your seed after you in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God to you and to your seed after you.

⁶ For you are a holy people to Jehovah your God. Jehovah your God has chosen you to be a special people to Himself above all people that are upon the face of the earth. ⁷ Jehovah did not set His love upon you, nor choose you, because you were more in number than any people, for you were the fewest of all people. ⁸ But because Jehovah loved you, and because He would keep the oath which He had sworn to your fathers, Jehovah has brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you out of the house of slaves, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

¹¹ But My people would not listen to My voice, and Israel would have none of Me. ¹² So I gave them up to the stubbornness of their own hearts; and they walked in their own conceits. ¹³ Oh that My people had listened to Me, and Israel had walked in My ways!

⁶ seed of His servant Abraham, sons of Jacob His chosen.

⁴² For He remembered His holy promise and Abraham His servant. ⁴³ And He brought forth His people with joy, and His chosen with gladness,

⁸ But you, Israel, are My servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham, My friend;

²³ Who among you will hear this? He will listen and hear for the time to come?

¹ But now so says Jehovah who created you, O Jacob, and He who formed you, O Israel; Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are Mine.

¹⁶ Come near to Me, hear this; I have not spoken in secret from the beginning. From its being, I was there; and now the Lord Jehovah, and His Spirit, has sent Me. ¹⁷ So says Jehovah, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, I am Jehovah your God who teaches you to profit, who leads you by the way that you should go. ¹⁸ Oh that you had paid attention to My commandments! Then your peace would have been like a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea.

³ Bow down your ear, and come to Me; hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.

⁷ The lion has come up from his thicket, and the destroyer of the nations has set out; he has left his place to make your land a waste. Your cities will fall into ruins without inhabitant.

¹⁰ And you, O My servant Jacob, do not fear, says Jehovah. Do not be terrified, O Israel. For lo, I will save you from afar, and your seed from the land of their captivity. And Jacob shall return, and shall be in rest, and be quiet, and none shall make him afraid.

²⁷ But you do not fear, O My servant Jacob, and be not afraid, O Israel. For, behold, I will save you from afar off, and your seed from the land of their captivity. And Jacob shall return and be in rest and at ease, and none shall make him afraid. ²⁸ Do not fear, O Jacob My servant, says Jehovah, for I am with you. For I will make a full end of all the nations where I have driven you. But I will not make a full end of you, but correct you in measure; yet I will not leave you wholly unpunished.

³⁴ Jerusalem! Jerusalem! the one killing the prophets, and stoning those having been sent to her; how often I desired to gather your children in the way a hen gathers her brood under the wings, and you did not desire it.

⁵ Even so then, also in this present time a remnant according to the election of grace has come into being. ⁶ But if by grace, then it is no more of works; otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it is of works, then it is no more of grace; otherwise work is no more work.

⁷ Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says, "Today if you will hear His voice, ⁸ do not harden your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness,
