¹⁵ And he blessed Joseph and said, May God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked, the God who fed me all my life to this day,

²² And Enoch walked with God three hundred years after he fathered Methuselah. And he fathered sons and daughters. ²³ And all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years. ²⁴ And Enoch walked with God, and then he was not, for God took him.

⁹ These are the generations of Noah. Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God.

¹ And when Abram was ninety-nine years old, Jehovah appeared to Abram and said to him, I am the Almighty God! Walk before Me and be perfect.

²⁰ And she hurried, and emptied her pitcher in the trough, and ran again to the well to draw water. And she drew for all his camels.

⁴ And make tasty meat for me, such as I love, and bring to me so that I may eat, that my soul may bless you before I die.

³ And may God Almighty bless you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, so that you may be a multitude of peoples.

²⁰ And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat and clothing to put on,

²² And this stone which I have set for a pillar shall be God's house. And of all that You shall give me, I will surely give the tenth to You.

¹⁶ the Angel who redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads. And let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac, and let them grow like the fishes into a multitude in the midst of the earth.

²⁴ But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob (from the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel);

²⁴ Is it not good that he should eat and drink and make his soul see good in his labor? This I also saw, that it was from the hand of God. ²⁵ For who can eat, or who can enjoy, apart from me?

¹² The sleep of a laboring man is sweet, whether he eats little or much; but the abundance of the rich will not allow him to sleep.

¹⁸ Behold that which I have seen. it is good and right for one to eat and to drink, and to see good in all his labor that he labors under the sun all the days of his life, which God gives him; for it is his portion.

⁷ All the labor of man is for his mouth, and yet the appetite is not filled.

²¹ And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, This is the way, walk in it, when you turn to the right hand and when you turn to the left.

¹⁶ He shall dwell on high; his refuge shall be the strongholds of rocks; bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure.

² And they shall spread them before the sun, and the moon, and all the host of the heavens, whom they have loved and whom they have served, and after whom they have walked, and whom they have sought, and whom they have worshiped. They shall not be gathered nor buried; they shall be as dung on the face of the earth.

²⁵ Therefore I say to you, Do not be anxious for your life, what you shall eat, or what you shall drink; nor for your body, what you shall put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? ²⁶ Behold the birds of the air; for they sow not, nor do they reap, nor gather into barns. Yet your heavenly Father feeds them; are you not much better than they are? ²⁷ Which of you by being anxious can add one cubit to his stature? ²⁸ And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They do not toil, nor do they spin, ²⁹ but I say to you that even Solomon in his glory was not arrayed like one of these. ³⁰ Therefore if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much rather clothe you, little-faiths? ³¹ Therefore do not be anxious, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, With what shall we be clothed? ³² For the nations seek after all these things. For your heavenly Father knows that you have need of all these things. ³³ But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you. ³⁴ Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow; for tomorrow shall be anxious for its own things. Sufficient to the day is the evil of it.

⁶ And they were both righteous before God, walking blameless in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord.

³¹ Therefore whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

¹² For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity; not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God; we have had our conduct in the world, and more abundantly toward you.

⁶ Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him,

¹² that you should walk worthy of God, who has called you to His kingdom and glory.

⁶ But godliness with contentment is great gain. ⁷ For we brought nothing into the world, and it is clear that we can carry nothing out. ⁸ But having food and clothing, we will be content. ⁹ But they who will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts which plunge men into destruction and perdition. ¹⁰ For the love of money is a root of all evils, of which some having lusted after, they were seduced from the faith and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

²¹ By faith Jacob, when he was dying, blessed each of the sons of Joseph and worshiped, leaning upon the top of his staff.
