⁶⁷ And Isaac brought her into his mother Sarah's tent, and took Rebekah, and she became his wife. And he loved her. And Isaac was comforted after his mother's death.

²² And Jehovah God made the rib (which He had taken from the man) into a woman. And He brought her to the man. ²³ And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh. She shall be called Woman because she was taken out of man. ²⁴ Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave to his wife and they shall be one flesh.

⁶ And Abraham hastened into the tent to Sarah, and said, Make ready quickly three measures of fine meal; knead it, and make cakes.

⁹ And they said to him, Where is Sarah your wife? And he said, Behold, in the tent. ¹⁰ And He said, I will certainly return to you according to the time of life, and lo, Sarah your wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard in the tent door which was behind Him.

¹ And Sarah was a hundred twenty seven years old, the years of the life of Sarah. ² And Sarah died in Kirjath-arba; the same is Hebron in the land of Canaan. And Abraham came to mourn for Sarah, and to weep for her.

²⁰ And Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah to wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padan-aram, the sister of Laban the Syrian.

¹⁸ And Jacob loved Rachel, and said, I will serve you seven years for Rachel your younger daughter.

³⁵ And all his sons, and all his daughters, rose up to comfort him. But he refused to be comforted. And he said, For I will go down into the grave to my son mourning. And his father wept for him.

¹² And the days were many, and Judah's wife, the daughter of Shuah, died. And Judah was comforted, and went up to shearers of his sheep, he and his friend Hiram of Adullam, to Timnah.

² I would lead You, and bring You into my mother's house. You would instruct me; I would cause You to drink spiced wine of the juice of my pomegranate.

¹ Rejoice, O unfruitful one that never bore; break out a song and shout, you who never travailed. For more are the sons of the desolate than the sons of the married woman, says Jehovah. ² Make the place of your tent larger, and let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings. Do not spare, lengthen your cords and strengthen your stakes; ³ for you shall break out on the right hand and on the left. And your seed shall inherit the nations, and people will inhabit ruined cities. ⁴ Do not fear; for you shall not be ashamed, nor shall you blush; for you shall not be put to shame; for you shall forget the shame of your youth, and shall not remember the reproach of your widowhood any more. ⁵ For your Maker is your husband; Jehovah of Hosts is His name; and your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel; the God of the whole earth shall He be called.

¹ I would that you were bearing with me a little in foolishness; but indeed bear with me. ² For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy. For I have espoused you to one Man, to present you as a pure virgin to Christ.

²² Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands, as to the Lord. ²³ For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. ²⁴ Therefore as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything. ²⁵ Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for it, ²⁶ that He might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the Word, ²⁷ that He might present it to Himself as the glorious church, without spot or wrinkle or any such things, but that it should be holy and without blemish. ²⁸ So men ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. ²⁹ For no man ever yet hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord loves the church. ³⁰ For we are members of His body, of His flesh, and of His bones. ³¹ "For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother and shall be joined to his wife, and the two of them shall be one flesh." ³² This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church. ³³ But also let everyone of you in particular so love his wife even as himself, and the wife that she defers to her husband.

¹³ But I would not have you ignorant, brothers, concerning those who are asleep, that you be not grieved, even as others who have no hope.

¹⁵ For we say this to you by the Word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord shall not go before those who are asleep.
