⁶⁸ And some of the chief of the fathers, when they came to the house of Jehovah at Jerusalem, offered freely for the house of God to set it up in its place.

⁵ Take from among you an offering to Jehovah. Whoever is of a willing heart, let him bring it, an offering of Jehovah: gold, and silver, and bronze, ⁶ and blue, and purple, and scarlet, and bleached linen, and goats' hair, ⁷ and rams' skins dyed red, and badgers' skins, and acacia-wood, ⁸ and oil for the light, and spices for anointing oil, and for the sweet incense, ⁹ and onyx stones, and stones to be set for the ephod and for the breast-pocket. ¹⁰ And every wise-hearted one among you shall come and make all that Jehovah has commanded: ¹¹ the tabernacle, its tent, its covering, its clasps, and its boards, its bars, its pillars, and its sockets. ¹² And make the ark and the staves of it, the mercy-seat, and the veil of the covering, ¹³ the table, and its staves, and all its vessels, and showbread, ¹⁴ also the lampstand for the light, and its vessels, and its lamp, with the oil for the light, ¹⁵ and the incense altar, and its staves, and the anointing oil, and the sweet incense, and the hanging of the door at the entering in of the tabernacle. ¹⁶ And make the altar of burnt offering, with its bronze grating, its staves, and all its vessels, the laver and its base, ¹⁷ the hangings of the court, its pillars and their sockets, and the hanging, for the door of the court, ¹⁸ the pins of the tabernacle, and the pins of the court, and their cords, ¹⁹ the woven garments to do service in the holy place, the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and the garments of his sons, to minister in the priest's office.

²⁹ The sons of Israel brought a willing offering to Jehovah, every man and woman whose heart made them willing to bring for all kinds of work which Jehovah had commanded to be made by the hand of Moses.

³ And they received all the offerings from Moses, the offering which the sons of Israel had brought for the work of the service of the sanctuary, to make it. And they still brought to him free offerings every morning.

³ And they brought their offerings before Jehovah: six covered wagons and twelve oxen, a wagon for two of the rulers, an ox for each one. And they brought them before the tabernacle. ⁴ And Jehovah spoke to Moses saying, ⁵ Take it from them so that they may be used in doing the service of the tabernacle of the congregation. This was the offering of Ahira the son of Enan. ⁸⁴ This was the dedication of the altar, in the day when it was anointed, by the rulers of Israel: twelve platters of silver, twelve silver basins, twelve golden pans. ⁸⁵ Each silver dish weighed a hundred and thirty shekels, each basin seventy. All the silver vessels weighed two thousand and four hundred shekels, according to the sanctuary shekel; ⁸⁶ twelve golden pans, full of incense, ten shekels each, according to the sanctuary shekel; all the gold of the pans was a hundred and twenty shekels. ⁸⁷ All the animals for the burnt offerings were twelve bulls, the rams twelve, the lambs of the first year twelve, with their food offering. And the males of the goats for a sin offering twelve. ⁸⁸ And all the animals for the sacrifice of the peace offerings were twenty-four bulls, the rams sixty, the male goats sixty, the lambs of the first year sixty. This was the dedication of the altar after it was anointed. ⁸⁹ And when Moses had gone into the tabernacle of the congregation to speak with Him, then he heard the voice of One speaking to him from the mercy-seat on the ark of testimony, from between the two cherubs. And He spoke to him.

¹⁸ And the angel of Jehovah commanded Gad to say to David that David should go up and set up an altar to Jehovah in the threshing-floor of Ornan the Jebusite.

¹ Then David said, This is the house of Jehovah God, and this is the altar of the burnt offering for Israel.

⁵ the gold for things of gold, and the silver for things of silver, and for all kinds of work by the hands of skillful workers. And who is willing to consecrate his service this day to Jehovah? ⁶ And the chiefs of the fathers, and the rulers of the tribes of Israel, and the commanders of thousands and of hundreds, with the rulers of the king's work, offered willingly. ⁷ And they gave for the service of the house of God five thousand talents of gold and ten thousand darics, and ten thousand talents of silver, and eighteen thousand talents of bronze, and one hundred thousand talents of iron. ⁸ And he who had precious stones gave to the treasury of the house of Jehovah by the hand of Jehiel the Gershonite. ⁹ And the people rejoiced, because they offered willingly, because with perfect heart they offered willingly to Jehovah. And David the king also rejoiced with great joy. ¹⁰ And David blessed Jehovah before all the congregation. And David said, Blessed are You, Jehovah, the God of Israel our father, forever and ever. ¹¹ O Jehovah, Yours is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty. For all in the heavens and in the earth is Yours. Yours is the kingdom, O Jehovah, and You lift up Yourself to all as Head. ¹² And the riches and the honor are from You, and You reign over all. And in Your hand is power and might. And it is in Your hand to make great and to give strength to all. ¹³ And now, our God, we thank You and praise Your glorious name. ¹⁴ But who am I, and who my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? For all things are from You, and we have given to You that which is Yours. ¹⁵ For we are strangers before You, and pilgrims, as our fathers were. Our days on the earth are like a shadow, and none abides. ¹⁶ O Jehovah our God, all this store that we have prepared to build You a house for Your holy name comes from Your hand, and is all Your own. ¹⁷ I know also, my God, that You try the heart, and have pleasure in uprightness. I, in the uprightness of my heart, have willingly offered all these things. And now I have seen with joy Your people who are present here to offer willingly to You.

¹ And Solomon began to build the house of Jehovah at Jerusalem in Mount Moriah, where He appeared to David his father, in the place that David had prepared in the threshing-floor of Ornan the Jebusite.

³ And they set the altar on its bases, for fear was on them because of the people of those countries. And they offered burnt offerings on it to Jehovah, burnt offerings both morning and evening.

⁷⁰ And some of the chiefs of the fathers gave to the work. The governor gave to the treasury a thousand darics of gold, fifty basins, and five hundred and thirty priest's garments. ⁷¹ And some of the chiefs of the fathers gave to the treasury of the work twenty thousand darics of gold, and two thousand two hundred minas of silver. ⁷² And what the rest of the people gave was twenty thousand darics of gold and two thousand minas of silver, and sixty-seven priests' garments. ⁷³ And the priests, and the Levites, and the gatekeepers, and the singers, and some of the people, and the temple slaves, and all Israel, lived in their cities. And when the seventh month came, the sons of Israel were in their cities.

³ Your people shall be willing in the day of Your power, in holy adornment from the womb of the morning: You have the dew of Your youth.

¹ And looking up, He saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury. ² And He also saw a certain poor widow casting two lepta in there. ³ And He said, Truly I say to you that this poor widow has cast in more than all of them. ⁴ For all these have cast in to the offerings of God from their abundance, but out of her poverty she has cast in all the living she had.

³ For I testify that according to their ability, and beyond their ability; they gave willingly;

¹² For if the eagerness is present, it is acceptable according to what one has, and not according to what one does not have.

⁷ Each one, as he purposes in his heart, let him give; not of grief, or of necessity, for God loves a cheerful giver.
