¹⁶ When I shall send on them the evil arrows of famine, which shall be for their ruin, which I will send to destroy you; even I will increase the famine on you, and break your staff of bread;

²⁶ When I have broken the staff of your bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and they shall deliver you your bread again by weight. And you shall eat and not be satisfied.

²³ I will heap evils on them. I will spend My arrows on them. ²⁴ Exhaustion by famine, and consumption by burning heat, and bitter destruction, and the teeth of beasts I will send on them, with the poison of crawling things of the dust.

²⁵ And there was a great famine in Samaria. And, behold, they besieged it until an ass's head was sold for eighty pieces of silver, and the fourth part of a cab of dove's dung for five silver pieces.

¹³ Yea, He has fitted him for instruments of death; He has made His arrows hotly pursue.

⁵ You shall not fear the terror by night; nor because of the arrow that flies by day; ⁶ nor for the plague that walks in darkness, of the destruction laying waste at noonday. ⁷ A thousand shall fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; it shall not come near you.

¹ For behold, the Lord, Jehovah of Hosts, takes away from Jerusalem and from Judah the stay and the staff, the whole stay of bread and the whole stay of water,

¹² He has bent His bow and set me as a mark for the arrow.

¹³ Son of man, when a land sins against Me by traitorous betraying, then I will stretch out My hand on it, and will break the staff of its bread, and will send famine on it, and will cut off man and beast from it.
