¹ When Jethro, the priest of Midian, Moses' father-in-law, heard of all that God had done for Moses and for Israel his people, that Jehovah had brought Israel out of Egypt,

¹⁶ And the priest of Midian had seven daughters. And they came and drew, and filled the troughs to water their father's flock.

¹⁸ And when they came to Reuel their father, he said, Why have you hurried to come today?

²¹ And Moses was content to live with the man. And he gave Moses his daughter Zipporah.

¹ And Moses kept the flock of his father-in-law Jethro, the priest of Midian. And he led the flock to the back side of the desert. And he came to the mountain of God, to Horeb.

¹⁸ And Moses went and returned to Jethro his father-in-law, and said to him, Please let me go and return to my brothers who are in Egypt and see if they are still alive. And Jethro said to Moses, Go in peace.

¹ And Jehovah said to Moses, See, I have made you a god to Pharaoh. And Aaron your brother shall be your prophet. ² You shall speak all that I command you. And Aaron your brother shall speak to Pharaoh, he will send the sons of Israel out of his land. ³ And I will harden Pharaoh's heart and multiply My signs and My wonders in the land of Egypt. ⁴ But Pharaoh shall not listen to you, and I will lay My hand upon Egypt, and bring My armies, My people the sons of Israel, out of the land of Egypt by great judgments. ⁵ And the Egyptians shall know that I am Jehovah when I stretch forth My hand upon Egypt, and bring out the sons of Israel from among them. ⁶ And Moses and Aaron did as Jehovah commanded them; so they did. ⁷ And Moses was eighty years old, and Aaron was eighty-three years old, when they spoke to Pharaoh. ⁸ And Jehovah spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying: ⁹ When Pharaoh shall speak to you saying, Give a miracle for yourselves, you shall say to Aaron, Take your rod, and throw it in front of Pharaoh. It shall become a snake. ¹⁰ And Moses and Aaron went in to Pharaoh. And they did so, as Jehovah had commanded. And Aaron threw down his rod in front of Pharaoh and in front of his servants, and it became a snake. ¹¹ Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers. And they, the magicians of Egypt, did the same with their secret arts. ¹² For each man threw down his rod, and they became snakes. But Aaron's rod swallowed up their rods. ¹³ And He hardened Pharaoh's heart so that he did not listen to them, as Jehovah had said. ¹⁴ And Jehovah said to Moses, Pharaoh's heart is hardened. He refuses to let the people go. ¹⁵ You go to Pharaoh in the morning. Lo, he goes out to the water. And you shall stand by the river's brink until he comes. And you shall take in your hand the rod which was turned to a snake.

²⁹ And Moses said to Hobab the son of Reuel the Midianite, Moses' father-in-law: We are going to the place of which Jehovah said, I will give it to you. Come with us, and we will do you good. For Jehovah has spoken good concerning Israel.

¹⁰ For we have heard how Jehovah dried up the water of the Red Sea for you when you came out of Egypt, and what you did to the two kings of the Amorites that were on the other side Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom you utterly destroyed.

⁹ And they said to him, Your servants have come from a very far country, because of the name of Jehovah your God. For we have heard of His fame and all that He did in Egypt,

¹¹ And Heber the Kenite, of the sons of Hobab the father-in-law of Moses, had separated himself from the Kenites and pitched his tent toward the plain of Zaanaim, near Kedesh.

¹⁰ and gave out signs and wonders upon Pharaoh and upon all his servants and upon all the people of his land. For You knew that they were acting proudly against them. So You got Yourself a name, as today. ¹¹ And You divided the sea before them, so that they went through the midst of the sea on the dry land. And their pursuers You threw into the deep, like a stone into the mighty waters.

² My soul shall make its boast in Jehovah; the humble shall hear and be glad.

¹ To the Chief Musician. For the sons of Korah, a contemplation. We have heard with our ears, O God; our fathers have told us the work which You did in their days, in the days of old.

¹⁴ You are the God who does wonders; You have declared Your strength among the people. ¹⁵ You have with Your arm redeemed Your people, the sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah.

⁴ We will not hide them from their sons, showing to the generations to come the praises of Jehovah, and His strength, and His wonderful works that He has done.

⁵⁰ He made a way to His anger; He did not save their soul from death, but gave their life over to the plague, ⁵¹ and struck all the first-born in Egypt, the first of the strong in the tents of Ham; ⁵² and led His people forth like sheep, and guided them in the wilderness like a flock. ⁵³ And He led them on safely, so that they did not fear; but the sea flooded over their enemies.

⁵ Remember His marvelous works which He has done, His wonders, and the judgments of His mouth,

³⁶ He also struck all the first-born in their land, the chief of all their strength. ³⁷ He also brought them out with silver and gold; and there was not one feeble person among their tribes. ³⁸ Egypt was glad when they departed; for the fear of them had fallen on them. ³⁹ He spread a cloud for a covering, and fire to give light in the night. ⁴⁰ They asked, and He brought quail, and satisfied them with the food of heaven. ⁴¹ He opened the rock, and the waters gushed out; they ran in the dry places like a river.

⁴³ And He brought forth His people with joy, and His chosen with gladness,

² Who can utter the mighty acts of Jehovah, or cause all His praise to be heard?

⁸ But He saved them for His name's sake, to make His mighty power known. ⁹ And He rebuked the Red Sea, and it was dried up; so He led them through the depths, as through the wilderness. ¹⁰ And He saved them from the hand of the hater, and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy. ¹¹ And the waters covered their enemies; there was not one of them left.

¹⁰ To Him who struck Egypt in their first-born; for His mercy endures forever; ¹¹ and brought Israel out from among them, for His mercy endures forever; ¹² with a strong hand, and a stretched out arm; for His mercy endures forever; ¹³ to Him who divided the Red Sea into parts; for His mercy endures forever; ¹⁴ and made Israel to pass through the middle of it; for His mercy endures forever; ¹⁵ but threw Pharaoh and his army in the Red Sea; for His mercy endures forever. ¹⁶ To Him who led His people through the wilderness; for His mercy endures forever.

¹¹ Then He remembered the days of old, Moses and His people, saying, Where is He who brought them up out of the sea with the shepherd of His flock? Where is He who put His Holy Spirit within him; ¹² who led them by the right hand of Moses with His glorious arm, dividing the water before them, to make Himself an everlasting name? ¹³ He led them through the deep, like a horse in the wilderness, so that they would not stumble.

⁹ And it shall be to Me a name of joy, a praise and an honor before all the nations of the earth, which shall hear all the good that I do to them. And they shall fear and tremble for all the goodness and for all the riches that I bring to it.

²³ So says Jehovah of Hosts: In those days ten men, out of all languages of the nations, shall take hold, and will seize the skirt of a man, a Jew, saying, We will go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.

³⁵ This Moses whom they refused, saying, Who made you a ruler and a judge? God has sent this one to be a ruler and a redeemer by the hand of the Angel who appeared to him in the Bush. ³⁶ He brought them out after he had worked wonders and miracles in the land of Egypt and in the Red Sea and in the wilderness forty years.

²⁷ And having arrived, and gathering the church they related all that God had done with them, and how He had opened the door of faith to the nations.

¹² And all the multitude kept silent and listened to Barnabas and Paul declaring what miracles and wonders God had worked among the nations through them.

¹⁹ And having greeted them, he related one by one what things God had done among the nations by his ministry. ²⁰ And hearing, they glorified the Lord, and said to him, You see, brother, how many thousands of Jews there are who believe, and they are all zealous of the Law.

¹⁸ For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ did not work out by me for the obedience of the nations in word and deed,

²³ But only they were hearing that he who then persecuted us, now preaches the faith which he once ravaged. ²⁴ And they glorified God in me.
