⁴ And having met with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to await the promise of the Father which you heard from Me.

²⁰ For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.

¹³ If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?

¹² For the Holy Spirit shall teach you in the same hour what you ought to say.

⁴¹ And while they still did not believe for joy, and wondered, He said to them, Have you any food here? ⁴² And they handed to Him a piece of a broiled fish and of a honeycomb. ⁴³ And He took it and ate before them.

⁴⁹ And behold, I send the promise of My father on you. But you sit in the city of Jerusalem until you are clothed with power from on high.

³⁹ (But He spoke this about the Spirit, which they who believed on Him should receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.)

¹⁶ And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, so that He may be with you forever,

²⁶ But the Comforter, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in My name, He shall teach you all things and bring all things to your remembrance, whatever I have said to you. ²⁷ Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. ²⁸ You have heard how I said to you, I go away and I am coming to you again. If you loved Me, you would rejoice because I said, I go to the Father, for My Father is greater than I.

²⁶ And when the Comforter has come, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He shall testify of Me.

⁷ But I tell you the truth, it is expedient for you that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Comforter will not come to you. But if I depart, I will send Him to you. ⁸ And when that One comes, He will convict the world concerning sin, and concerning righteousness, and concerning judgment. ⁹ Concerning sin, because they do not believe on Me; ¹⁰ concerning righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; ¹¹ concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged. ¹² I have yet many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. ¹³ However, when He, the Spirit of Truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth. For He shall not speak of Himself, but whatever He hears, He shall speak. And He will announce to you things to come. ¹⁴ He will glorify Me, for He will receive of Mine and will announce it to you. ¹⁵ All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and will announce it to you.

²² And when He had said this, He breathed on them and said to them, Receive the Holy Spirit.

³³ Therefore being exalted to the right of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He has poured out this which you now see and hear.
