²⁵ And it happened when he had made an end of offering the burnt offering, Jehu said to the guard and to the commanders, Go in. Kill them! Do not let any come out! And they struck them with the edge of the sword. And the guard and the commanders threw them out. And they went to the city, to the house of Baal.

²⁷ And he said to them, Thus says Jehovah, the God of Israel: Each man put his sword by his side, and go in and out from gate to gate throughout the camp, and kill each one his brother, and each one his neighbor, and each one his kindred.

⁶ If your brother, the son of your mother, or your son, or your daughter, or the wife of your bosom, or your friend who is like your own soul, lures you secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods which you have not known, you nor your fathers, ⁷ that is, of the gods of the people who are around you, near you or far off from you, from the one end of the earth even to the other end of the earth, ⁸ you shall not consent to him nor listen to him. Nor shall your eye pity him, nor shall you spare, nor shall you hide him. ⁹ But you shall surely kill him. Your hand shall be first on him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people. ¹⁰ And you shall stone him with stones so that he dies, because he has sought to drive you away from Jehovah your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of slaves. ¹¹ And all Israel shall hear, and fear, and shall do no more any such wickedness as this among you.

⁴⁰ And Elijah said to them, Take the prophets of Baal. Do not let one of them escape. And they took them. And Elijah brought them down to the torrent Kishon and killed them there.

⁵ And He said to those in my hearing, Go over in the city after him, and strike. Let not your eye spare, nor have pity. ⁶ Fully destroy old men, young men and virgins, and little children and women. But do not come near any man on whom is the mark. And begin at My sanctuary. And they began at the old men who were before the house. ⁷ And He said to them, Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain. Go out! And they went out and killed in the city.

²¹ And I will gather you and blow on you in the fire of My wrath, and you shall be melted in the middle of it. ²² As silver is melted in the middle of the furnace, so you shall be melted in the middle of it; and you shall know that I Jehovah have poured out My fury on you.

⁶ since they have poured out the blood of the saints and prophets; and You gave them blood to drink, for they were deserving. ⁷ And I heard another out of the altar saying, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are Your judgments.
