¹ The elder to the elect lady and her children, whom I love in the truth and not only I, but also all those who have known the truth,

³ it seemed good to me also, following all things accurately from the very first, to write to you in order, most excellent Theophilus,

³² And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

⁵ to whom not even for an hour did we yield in subjection, that the truth of the gospel might continue with you.

¹⁴ But when I saw that they did not walk uprightly with the truth of the gospel, I said to Peter before all, If you, being a Jew, live as a Gentile, and not as the Jews, why do you compel the nations to judaize?

¹ O foolish Galatians, who bewitched you not to obey the truth, to whom before your eyes Jesus Christ was written among you crucified?

⁷ You were running well. Who hindered you that you do not obey the truth?

⁴ according as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, ⁵ having predestined us to the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will,

⁵ for the hope which is laid up for you in Heaven, of which you heard before in the Word of the truth of the gospel,

³ remembering without ceasing your work of faith and labor of love and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father, ⁴ knowing, beloved brothers, your election of God.

¹³ But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brothers beloved of the Lord, because God has from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth, ¹⁴ to which He called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

⁴ who will have all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

²⁶ For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more sacrifice for sins,

² according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, to obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ. May grace and peace be multiplied to you.

²² Purifying your souls in the obedience of the truth through the Spirit to unfeigned love of the brothers, love one another fervently out of a pure heart, ²³ having been born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, through the living Word of God, and abiding forever.

¹ I exhort the elders who are among you, I being also an elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed.

²¹ I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and know that no lie is of the truth.

¹⁸ My children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.

² for the sake of the truth dwelling in us, and which shall be with us forever. ³ Grace will be with you, mercy and peace from God the Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.

⁵ And now I beseech you, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment to you, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another.

¹³ The children of your elect sister greet you. Amen.

¹³ I had many things to write, but I will not write to you with pen and ink, ¹⁴ but I trust I shall shortly see you, and we shall speak face to face. Peace be to you. The friends greet you. Greet the friends by name.
