¹³ I write to you, fathers, because you have known Him who is from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because you have overcome the evil one. I write to you, little children, because you have known the Father.

² Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever You had formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting You are God.

¹⁴ Because He has set His love on Me, therefore I will deliver Him; I will set Him on high, because He has known My name.

¹² both young men and maidens, old men and children;

²⁹ The glory of young men is their strength; and the beauty of old men is the gray head.

²⁸ And it shall be afterward, I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh. And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy; your old men shall dream dreams; your young men shall see visions.

¹⁷ For how great is its goodness and how great its beauty! Grain shall make the young men flourish, and new wine the virgins.

²⁷ All things are delivered to Me by My Father. And no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son will reveal Him.

¹⁹ When anyone hears the Word of the kingdom and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and catches away that which was sown in his heart. This is the seed sown by the wayside.

³⁸ the field is the world; the good seed are the sons of the kingdom; but the darnel are the sons of the evil one.

²² All things are delivered to Me by My Father; and no one knows who the Son is except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son, and the one to whom the Son will reveal Him.

¹⁹ Then they said to Him, Where is your father? Jesus said to them, You neither know Me nor My Father. If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also.

⁵⁴ Jesus answered, If I glorify Myself, My glory is nothing; it is My Father who glorifies Me, of whom you say that He is your God. ⁵⁵ Yet you have not known Him, but I know Him. And if I should say I do not know Him, I would be a liar like you. But I know Him and I keep His Word.

⁷ If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also. And from now on you know Him and have seen Him.

⁹ Jesus said to him, Have I been with you such a long time and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father. And how do you say, Show us the Father?

³ And they will do these things to you because they have not known the Father nor Me.

³ And this is life eternal, that they might know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

²¹ that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You, that they also may be one in Us, so that the world may believe that You have sent Me.

⁶ For it is God who said, "Out of darkness Light shall shine;" who shone in our hearts to give the brightness of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

¹⁰ Finally, my brothers, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. ¹¹ Put on the whole armor of God so that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. ¹² For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the world's rulers, of the darkness of this age, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

¹ Do not sharply rebuke an elder, but exhort as a father, and the younger ones as brothers,

⁶ Likewise exhort the young men to be discreet;

⁸ Be sensible and vigilant, because your adversary the Devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking someone he may devour; ⁹ whom firmly resist in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions in the world are being completed in your brotherhood.

¹ That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of Life,

¹ My little children, I write these things to you so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.

³ And by this we know that we have known Him, if we keep His commandments. ⁴ He who says, I have known Him, and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

¹² I write to you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for His name's sake.

¹⁴ I write to you, fathers, because you have known Him who is from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, and the Word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the evil one.

¹² not as Cain who was of the evil one, and killed his brother. And for what did he kill him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's things were righteous.

⁴ You are of God, little children, and you have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

⁴ For everything that has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that overcomes the world, our faith. ⁵ Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

¹⁸ We know that everyone who has been born of God does not continue to sin, but the one born of God guards himself, and the evil one does not touch him.

²⁰ And we know that the Son of God has come, and He has given us an understanding so that we may know Him who is true. And we are in Him that is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and the everlasting life.
