⁸ which none of the rulers of this world knew (for if they had known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory).

²⁵ At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank You, O Father, Lord of Heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the sophisticated and cunning, and revealed them to babes.

³⁴ And Jesus said, Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do. And parting His clothing, they cast lots.

⁴⁸ Is it not true that not any of the rulers or of the Pharisees have believed into him?

¹⁹ Then they said to Him, Where is your father? Jesus said to them, You neither know Me nor My Father. If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also.

³⁹ And Jesus said, I have come into this world for judgment, that they who do not see might see, and that they who see might be made blind. ⁴⁰ And those of the Pharisees who were with Him heard these words, and said to Him, Are we also blind? ⁴¹ Jesus said to them, If you were blind, you would have no sin. But now you say, We see. Therefore your sin remains.

⁴⁰ "He has blinded their eyes and hardened their heart, so that they should not see with their eyes nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them." ⁴¹ Isaiah said these things when he saw His glory and spoke of Him. ⁴² Still, however, even out of the rulers, many did believe on Him. But because of the Pharisees they did not confess, lest they should be put out of the synagogue; ⁴³ for they loved the glory of men more than the glory of God.

²² If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have had sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin. ²³ He who hates Me hates My Father also. ²⁴ If I had not done among them the works which no other did, they would not have had sin. But now they have both seen and hated Me and My Father. ²⁵ But that the Word might be fulfilled that is written in their Law, "They hated Me without a cause."

³ And they will do these things to you because they have not known the Father nor Me.

¹⁶ And His name, through faith in His name, has made this man strong, this one whom you see and know, His name made firm. And the faith which came through Him has given him this perfect soundness before you. ¹⁷ And now, brothers, I know that you did it through ignorance, as also your rulers did.

²⁷ For those living in Jerusalem, and their rulers, not having known this One, and the voices of the Prophets being read throughout every sabbath, condemning Him, they fulfilled the Scriptures.

¹⁴ (But their thoughts were blinded; for until the present the same veil remains on the reading of the old covenant, not taken away.) But this veil has been done away in Christ.

¹³ the one who before was a blasphemer and a persecutor and insolent. But I obtained mercy, because being ignorant, I did it in unbelief.

¹ My brothers, do not have the faith of our Lord Christ, the Lord of glory, with respecter of faces.
