⁵³ But the Levites shall pitch around the tabernacle of testimony, so that there may be no wrath upon the congregation of the sons of Israel. And the Levites shall keep the charge of the tabernacle of testimony.

⁶ Bring the tribe of Levi near, and present them before Aaron the priest, so that they may minister to him. ⁷ And they shall keep his charge and the charge of the whole congregation before the tabernacle of the congregation, to do the service of the tabernacle. ⁸ And they shall keep all the vessels of the tabernacle of the congregation, and the charge of the sons of Israel, to do the service of the tabernacle. ⁹ And you shall give the Levites to Aaron and to his son. They are wholly given to him out of the sons of Israel.

³⁸ And those who camp before the tabernacle toward the east, before the tabernacle of the congregation eastward, shall be Moses, and Aaron and his sons, keeping the charge of the sanctuary for the charge of the sons of Israel. And the stranger that comes near shall die.

⁴ And they brought up the ark of Jehovah, and the tabernacle of the congregation, and all the holy vessels which were in the tabernacle; even those the priests and the Levites brought up.

²⁷ And they lived around the house of God, because the duty was on them. And they were to open it morning by morning.
