⁴⁰ When, therefore, they came to him, they besought him to stay with them; and he staid there two days.

³⁸ Now, the man out of whom the demons were gone, entreated his permission to attend him. But Jesus dismissed him, saying,

³⁹ She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the feet of Jesus, listening to his discourse:

⁵ When Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and seeing him, said, Zaccheus, make haste and come down, for today I must abide at your house. ⁶ And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully. ⁷ When the multitude perceived this, they said, murmuring, He is gone to be entertained by a sinner. ⁸ But Zaccheus, presenting himself before Jesus, said, Master, half of my goods I will give to the poor; and if in anything I have wronged any man, I will restore fourfold. ⁹ And Jesus said, concerning him, Today is salvation come to this house; inasmuch as he also is a son of Abraham. ¹⁰ For the Son of Man is come to seek and recover that which was lost.

²⁹ but they constrained him, saying, Abide with us, for it grows late, and the day is far spent. And he went to abide with them.

¹⁵ And when she was immersed, with her family, she entreated us, saying, If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, enter into my house, and continue there. And she compelled us.

¹ We, then, as fellow-laborers, also beseech you not to receive the favor of God in vain; ² (for he says, "In an accepted season I have hearkened to you; and in a day of salvation I have helped you." Behold, now is a highly accepted season; behold, now is a day of salvation:)

²⁰ Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if any one hear my voice, and open the door, I will enter into his house, and will sup with him, and he with me.
