¹¹ I give you these admonitions, that I may continue to have joy in you, and that your joy may be complete.

⁵ And having found it, does he not joyfully lay it on his shoulders,

⁹ And having found it, does she not assemble her female friends and neighbors, saying, Rejoice with me, for I have found the drachma which I had lost!

²³ bring also the fatted calf, and kill it, and let us eat, and be merry;

³² it was but reasonable that we should rejoice and be merry; because this, your brother, was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.

²⁹ The bridegroom is he who has the bride; but the friend of the bridegroom, who assists him, rejoices to hear the bridegroom's voice: this, my joy, therefore, is complete.

²⁴ Hitherto you have asked nothing in my name; ask, and you shall receive, that your joy may be complete.

³³ These things I have spoken to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take courage! I have overcome the world.

¹³ But now that I am coming to thee, I speak these things in the world, that their joy in me may be complete.

¹³ Now, may the God of hope fill you with all joy, and peace, in believing; in order that you may abound in that hope, through the power of the Holy Spirit.

²⁴ Not that we lord it over your faith, but we are joint promoters of your joy: for by the faith you stand.

¹⁸ And we not drunk with wine, by which comes dissoluteness; but be filled with the Spirit:

²⁵ And being firmly persuaded of this, I know that I shall live and abide some time with you all, for the advancement of the joy of your faith;

¹⁶ Rejoice always.

⁸ whom, not having seen, you love; on whom, not now looking, but believing, you greatly rejoice, with joy unspeakable and full of glory-

⁴ And these things we write to you, that your joy may be complete.

¹² Having many things to write to you, I did not incline to communicate them by paper and ink; because I hope to come to you, and speak face to face, that our joy may be complete.
