⁵⁰ The Lord of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect, and at an hour that he does not know.

⁴² Be alert, therefore, for you do not know at what hour your Lord will come. ⁴³ But know this much, that if the master of the house knew at what watch of the night the thief comes, he would keep awake and would not let his house be plundered. ⁴⁴ For this reason, you also be ready, for the Son of man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.

² For you yourselves know perfectly well that the day of our LORD comes just like a thief in the night. ³ For when they shall say: Peace and tranquility; then sudden destruction will come upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

³ Remember, therefore, just as you have received and heard, so hold fast and repent. And if, therefore, you do not awake, I will come against you as a thief, and you shall not know at what hour I will come upon you.
