¹⁰ Then many will stumble, and they will hate one another, and betray one another.

²¹ Brother will deliver up his own brother to death, and father his son; and children will rise up against their parents and put them to death.

³⁵ For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. ³⁶ And a manÆs enemies will be the members of his own household.

⁶ And blessed is he who does not stumble on account of me.

²¹ But it has no root in him, except for a while; and when trouble or persecution comes because of the word, he immediately stumbles.

⁵⁷ And they were perplexed about him. But Jesus said to them, No prophet is insulted, except in his own city and in his own house.

³¹ Then Jesus said to them, All of you will deny me this night; for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of his flock will be scattered. ³² But after I am risen, I will be in Galilee before you. ³³ Peter answered and said to him, Even if every man should deny you, I will never deny you. ³⁴ Jesus said to him, Truly I say to you, that in this very night, before the cock crows, you will deny me three times.

¹⁰ For DeÆmas has forsaken me, having loved this world, and has gone to Thes-salo- niÆca; CresÆcens to Ga-laÆtia; Titus to DalmaÆtia.
