¹⁶ For their good things were in [their] hands, but he regards not the works of the ungodly.

⁶ Let not my soul come into their counsel, and let not mine inward parts contend in their conspiracy, for in their wrath they killed men, and in their passion they houghed a bull.

²¹ and said, I myself came forth naked from my mother's womb, and naked shall I return there; the Lord gave, the Lord has taken away: as it seemed good to the Lord, so has it come to pass; blessed be the name of the Lord.

⁹ Who then has not known in all these things, that the hand of the Lord has made them? ¹⁰ Whereas the life of all living things is in his hand, and the breath of every man.

¹⁸ Yet he filled their houses with good things: but the counsel for the wicked is far from him.

¹ Blessed is the man who has not walked in the counsel of the ungodly, and has not stood in the way of sinners, and has not sat in the seat of evil men.

⁶ And the heavens shall declare his righteousness: for God is judge. Pause. ⁷ Hear, my people, and I will speak to you, O Israel: and I will testify to you: I am God, your God.

⁸ There is no man that has power over the spirit to retain the spirit; and there is no power in the day of death: and there is no discharge in the day of the battle; neither shall ungodliness save her votary.
