² And he cried in a strong, great voice, saying, Babylon the great has fallen! It has fallen, and it has become a dwelling-place of demons, and a prison of every unclean spirit, and a prison of every unclean bird, even having been hated,

¹³ And these you shall count unclean among the fowls; they shall not be eaten; they are unclean: the eagle, and the black vulture and the bearded vulture, ¹⁴ and the kite, and the falcon, according to its kind; ¹⁵ every raven according to its kind; ¹⁶ and the ostrich, and the great owl, and the gull, and small hawks, according to its kind ¹⁷ and the little owl, and the cormorant, and the eared owl; ¹⁸ and the barn owl, and the pelican and the owl-vulture; ¹⁹ and the stork, the heron according to its kind, and the hoopoe, and the bat.

¹⁹ And Babylon, the glory of the kingdoms, the beauty of the pride of the Chaldeans, shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah. ²⁰ It shall never be inhabited forever, nor shall it be lived in from generation to generation. And the Arabian shall not pitch a tent there, nor shall the shepherds make flocks lie down there. ²¹ But the desert creatures shall lie there; and their houses shall be full of howling creatures; and daughters of ostriches shall dwell there; and he goats shall skip there. ²² And hyenas shall cry along with his widows; and jackals in palaces of delight. Yea, her time to come is near, and her days shall not be prolonged.

²³ Also I will make it a possession of the hedgehog and pools of water; and I will sweep it with the broom of ruin, says Jehovah of Hosts.

⁸ And he cried, A lion! My lord, I always stand on my watchtower by day; and I am stationed at my post all the nights. ⁹ And, behold, here comes a chariot of a man, a pair of horses. And he answered and said, Babylon has fallen, has fallen! And He has smashed the cut images of her gods to the earth.

¹¹ But the owl and the hedgehog shall possess it; and the eared owl and the raven shall live in it. And He shall stretch out on it the line of shame, and the stones of emptiness. ¹² They shall call its nobles to a kingdom, but none shall be there; and all her rulers shall be nothing. ¹³ And thorns shall grow in her palaces, nettles and thistles in its fortresses; and it shall be a home for jackals, a court for daughters of ostriches. ¹⁴ The desert creatures shall also meet with the howlers; and the shaggy goat shall cry to his fellow. The screech owl shall also settle there, and find a place of rest for herself. ¹⁵ The snake shall nest there, and shall lay, and hatch, and shall gather in her shadow. Vultures shall also be gathered together, each with its mate.

³⁰ And now you prophesy against them all these words, and say to them, Jehovah shall roar from on high and utter His voice from His holy habitation; He shall mightily roar over His dwelling place. He answers with a shout, like those who tread out the grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth.

³⁹ So the beasts of the desert shall dwell there with jackals. And the daughters of the ostrich shall dwell in her again. And it shall not again have anyone in it forever; it shall not be lived in until generation and generation. ⁴⁰ As God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighbors, states Jehovah, so no man shall live there, nor shall a son of man stay in it.

⁸ Suddenly Babylon has fallen, and it is broken. Wail for her, take balm for her pain, if perhaps she may be healed.

³⁷ And Babylon shall become heaps, a home for jackals, a horror and a hissing, without a dweller.

⁶⁰ So Jeremiah wrote in a hook all the evil that should come on Babylon, all these words that are written against Babylon. ⁶¹ And Jeremiah said to Seraiah, When you come to Babylon and shall see and shall cry all these words, ⁶² then you shall say, O Jehovah, You have spoken against this place to cut it off so that no dweller shall be in it, from man to animal, but it shall be a ruin forever. ⁶³ And it shall be, when you have finished crying this hook, you shall tie a stone to it and throw it into the middle of the Euphrates. ⁶⁴ And you shall say, In this way Babylon shall sink and shall not rise from the evil that I am bringing on her. And they shall be weary. So far are the words of Jeremiah.

¹⁶ And Jehovah roars from Zion, and He gives His voice from Jerusalem. And the heavens and the earth quake. But Jehovah is a refuge for His people and a fortress to the sons of Israel.

¹⁴ And flocks shall lie down in her midst; all the beasts of a nation; both the pelican and the bittern shall lodge in the capitals of its pillars. A voice shall sing at the window; ruin shall be at the doorsill; for the cedar work He will bare.

³ who had his abode among the tombs; and no one was able to bind him, not even with chains. ⁴ Because he had often been bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been torn by him, and the fetters had been shattered. And no one was able to subdue him. ⁵ And continually night and day in the hills, and in the tombs, he was crying and cutting himself with stones.

²⁷ And He going out onto the land, a certain man out of the city met Him, who had demons from a long time. (And he put no garment on; and he did not stay in a house, but among the tombs). ²⁸ And seeing Jesus, and crying out, he fell down before Him, and with a loud voice said, What to me and to You, Jesus, Son of God the Most High? I beg You, do not torment me.

¹⁵ and His feet like burnished brass having been fired in a furnace; and His voice as a sound of many waters;

² And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a great voice: Who is worthy to open the scroll, and to loosen its seals?

³ and cried with a great voice, as a lion roars. And when he cried, the seven thunders spoke their sounds.

⁸ And another angel followed, saying, The great city, Babylon, has fallen, has fallen; because of the wine of the anger of her fornication, she made all nations to drink.

¹⁵ And another angel went forth out of the temple, crying in a great voice to the One sitting on the cloud, Send Your sickle and reap, because Your hour to reap came, because the harvest of the earth was dried.

¹³ And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.

¹⁹ And the great city came to be into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. And Babylon the great was remembered before God, to give to her the cup of the wine of the anger of His wrath.

⁵ And on her forehead was a name having been written: Mystery, Babylon the Great, the Mother of the Harlots and of the Abominations of the Earth.

¹⁸ And the woman whom you saw is the great city, having a kingdom over the kings of the earth.

¹⁰ standing from afar because of the fear of her torment, saying, Woe! Woe to the great city, Babylon, the strong city! For in one hour your judgment came.

²¹ And one strong angel lifted a stone like a great millstone, and threw it into the sea, saying, This way, on a violent impulse, Babylon the great city will be thrown down, and it will never more still be found.
