²⁴ And being aroused from sleep, Joseph did as the angel of the Lord commanded him, and took his wife,

²² And Noah did so, according to all that God commanded him, so he did.

⁵ And Noah did according to all that Jehovah commanded him.

² And He said, Now take your son, Isaac, your only one whom you love, and go into the land of Moriah. And there offer him for a burnt offering on one of the mountains which I will say to you. ³ And Abraham started up early in the morning and saddled his ass, and he took two of his youths with him, and his son Isaac. And he split wood for a burnt offering, and rose up and went to the place which God had said to him.

¹⁶ And Moses did so, according to all Jehovah commanded him; so he did.

¹⁹ And he spread out the tent over the tabernacle. And he put the cover of the tent over it from above, as Jehovah commanded Moses.

²⁵ And he set up the lamps before Jehovah, as Jehovah had commanded Moses.

²⁷ And he burned on it incense of fragrant spices, as Jehovah commanded Moses.

³² As they came into the tabernacle of the congregation, and as they drew near to the altar, they would wash, as Jehovah commanded Moses.

¹¹ And Naaman was angry, and went on, and said, Behold, I said, He will certainly come out to me and will stand and call on the name of Jehovah his God, and will wave his hand over the place, and recover the leper. ¹² Are not Abanah and Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? Shall I not wash in them and he clean? And he turned and went on in fury. ¹³ And his servants came near and spoke to him, and said, My father, if the prophet had spoken a great thing to you would you not do it ? How much rather then when he says to you, Wash, and be clean? ¹⁴ And he went down and dipped in the Jordan seven times, according to the word of the man of God. And his flesh returned like the flesh of a little boy, and he was clean.

⁵ His mother said to the servants, Whatever He says to you, do. ⁶ And there were six stone waterpots standing, according to the purification of the Jews, each containing two or three measures. ⁷ Jesus said to them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them to the top. ⁸ And He said to them, Now draw out and carry to the master of the feast. And they carried it.

¹⁴ You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.

⁷ Being warned by God about the things not yet having been seen, moved with fear, by faith Noah prepared an ark for the salvation of his house; through which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness according to faith. ⁸ Having been called out by faith, Abraham obeyed to go forth to a place which he was going to receive for an inheritance; and he went out not understanding where he went.

²⁴ Having become great, Moses by faith refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter, ²⁵ having chosen rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than for a time to have enjoyment of sin; ²⁶ having counted the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt, for he was looking to the reward. ²⁷ By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the anger of the king; for he kept on as seeing the Invisible One . ²⁸ By faith he made the Passover, and the sprinkling of blood, that the destroyer of the first-born might not touch them. ²⁹ By faith they passed through the Red Sea, as through dry land; by which attempt the Egyptians taking, they were swallowed up. ³⁰ By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, having been circled during seven days. ³¹ By faith Rahab the harlot did not perish with those disobeying, having received the spies with peace.

²¹ Was not our father Abraham justified by works offering up his son Isaac on the altar? Gen. 22:9 ²² You see that faith worked with his works; and out of the works the faith was made perfected. ²³ And the Scripture was fulfilled, saying, "And Abraham believed God, and it was counted for righteousness to him;" and he was called, Friend of God. Gen. 15:6; Isa. 41:8 ²⁴ You see, then, that a man is justified out of works, and not out of faith only. ²⁵ But in the same way Rahab the harlot was also justified out of works, having received the messengers, and sending them out by another way. ²⁶ For as the body is dead apart from the spirit, so also faith is dead apart from works.
