²⁸ Come to Me, all those laboring and being burdened, and I will give you rest.

¹⁷ And He said to the man, Because you have listened to the voice of your wife, and have eaten of the tree about which I commanded you, saying, You shall not eat from it, the ground shall be cursed because of you; you shall eat of it in sorrow all the days of your life. ¹⁸ And it shall bring forth thorns and thistles for you, and you shall eat the plant of the field. ¹⁹ By the sweat of your face you shall eat bread until your return to the ground. For you have been taken out of it; for you are dust, and to dust you shall return.

⁷ for man is born to trouble, and the sons of the flame rise, flying upward .

¹ Man born of woman is short of days, and full of turmoil.

⁴ For by day and by night Your hand was heavy on me; my sap was turned into the droughts of summer. Selah.

⁴ For my iniquities have passed over my head, as a heavy burden too heavy for me.

⁷ For we are consumed by Your anger, and we are troubled by Your wrath. ⁸ You have set our iniquities before You, our secret sins in the light of Your face. ⁹ For all our days pass away in Your wrath; we finish our years like a murmur. ¹⁰ The days of our years are seventy; and if any by strength live eighty years, yet their pride is labor and vanity; for it soon passes, and we fly away.

¹³ to give him rest from troubled days, until the pit is dug for the wicked.

⁷ Return to your rest, O soul; for Jehovah has blessed you.

⁸ All words are wearisome; a man is not able to utter it. The eye is not satisfied to see, nor is the ear filled from hearing.

¹⁴ I have seen all the works which are done under the sun; and, behold, all is vanity and striving after wind!

²² For what is there for man in all his labor, and in longing of his heart, which he has labored under the sun? ²³ For all his days are pains, and his task is grief; his heart does not even take rest in the night. Even this also is vanity.

⁸ There is one alone, and there is not a second; yea, he has neither son nor brother; and there is no end to all his labor; even his eyes are not satisfied with riches; and he says, For whom do I labor, and take good from my soul? This is also vanity. Yes, it is an evil task.

⁴ Woe, sinful nation, a people heavy with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, sons who corrupt! They have forsaken Jehovah; they have scorned the Holy One of Israel. They are estranged backward.

¹⁰ And it shall be in that day, the Root of Jesse stands as a banner of peoples; nations shall seek to Him; and His resting place shall be glory.

¹² to whom He said, This is the rest; cause the weary to rest. Also, This is the repose. But they willed not to hear.

²² Turn to Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other. ²³ I have sworn by Myself, the word has gone out of My mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, that to Me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear. ²⁴ He shall say, Only in Jehovah do I have righteousness and strength; to Him he comes; and they are ashamed, all who are angry with Him. ²⁵ In Jehovah all of the seed of Israel shall be justified, and shall glory.

¹⁷ So says Jehovah, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, I am Jehovah your God, who teaches you to profit, who leads you in the way you should go. ¹⁸ Oh that you had listened to My commands! Then your peace would have been like the river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea.

² For He comes up before Him as a tender plant, and as a root out of dry ground. He has no form nor magnificence that we should see Him; nor form that we should desire Him. ³ He is despised and abandoned of men, a Man of pains, and acquainted with sickness. And as it were hiding our faces from Him, He being despised, and we did not value Him.

¹ Ho, everyone who thirsts, come to the water; and he who has no silver, come buy grain and eat. Yes, come buy grain, wine and milk without silver and with no price. ² Why do you weigh out silver for that which is not bread, and your labor for what never satisfies? Listen carefully to Me and eat the good; and let your soul delight itself in fatness. ³ Bend your ear and come to Me; hear, and your soul shall live; and I will cut a covenant everlasting with you, the faithful mercies of David.

³ to appoint to those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, the mantle of praise instead of the spirit of infirmity, so that one calls them trees of righteousness, the planting of Jehovah, in order to beautify Himself.

² And My hand has made all these things, even all these things exist, declares Jehovah. But I will look toward this one, to the afflicted, and to the contrite of spirit, even trembling at My word.

¹⁶ So says Jehovah, Stand by the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, where the good way is, and walk in it; and you shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk in it .

⁶ With what shall I come before Jehovah, to bow myself before the loftiness of God? Shall I come before Him with burnt offerings, with calves, sons of a year? ⁷ Will Jehovah be pleased with thousands of rams, with ten thousands of torrents of oil? Shall I give my first-born for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? ⁸ O man, He has declared to you what is good. And what does Jehovah require of you, but to do justice, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?

²⁹ Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, because I am meek and lowly in heart, "and you will find rest to your souls." Jer. 6:16

⁴ For they bind heavy and hard to bear burdens, and lay them on the shoulders of men, but they do not desire to move them with their finger.

³⁷ All that the Father gives to Me shall come to Me, and the one coming to Me I will in no way cast out.

³⁷ And in the last day of the great feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.

¹⁰ Now, then, why do you test God by putting a yoke on the neck of the disciples which neither our fathers nor we had strength to bear?

²² For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man; ²³ but I see another law in my members having warred against the law of my mind, and taking me captive by the law of sin being in my members. ²⁴ O wretched man that I am! Who shall deliver me from the body of this death? ²⁵ I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then I myself with the mind truly serve the law of God, and with the flesh the law of sin.

¹ Then stand firm in the freedom with which Christ made us free and do not be held again with a yoke of slavery.

⁷ and to give you, those being troubled, relief with us at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from Heaven with angels of His power,

¹ Then let us fear lest in any way a promise having been left to enter into His rest, that any of you may seem to come short.

¹⁷ And the Spirit and the bride say, Come! And the one hearing, let him say, Come! And the one thirsting, let him come; and the one desiring, let him take of the water of life freely.
