³⁹ And going in, He said to them, Why do you make a tumult and weep? The child has not died, but is sleeping.

² And many of those sleeping in the earth's dust shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to reproaches and to everlasting abhorrence.

¹¹ He said these things. And after this, He said to them, Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but I am going that I may awaken him. ¹² Then His disciples said, Lord, if he has fallen asleep, he will recover. ¹³ But Jesus had spoken about his death, but they thought that He spoke of the sleep of slumber.
