¹ But on the first of the sabbaths, while still very early, they came on the tomb, carrying spices which they prepared; and some were with them. ² And they found the stone having been rolled away from the tomb. ³ And going in, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. ⁴ And it happened, as they were perplexed about this, even behold, two men in shining clothing stood by them. ⁵ And they becoming terrified, and bowing their faces to the earth, they said to them, Why do you seek the living with the dead? ⁶ He is not here, but was raised. And he went away wondering to himself at what had happened. ¹³ And, behold, two of them were going on the same day to a village being sixty stadia distant from Jerusalem, which was named Emmaus. ¹⁴ And they talked to each other about all these things taking place. ¹⁵ And it happened, as they talked and reasoned, coming near, Jesus Himself traveled with them. ¹⁶ But their eyes were held so as not to recognize Him. ¹⁷ And He said to them, What words are these which you exchange with each other while walking, and are sad of face? ¹⁸ And answering, one of them whose name was Cleopas, said to Him, Are you only one who resides in Jerusalem and do not know the things happening in it in these days? ¹⁹ And He said to them, What things? And they said to Him, The things concerning Jesus the Nazarene, who was a man, a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people; ²⁰ and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered Him to the judgment of death, and crucified Him . ²¹ But we were hoping that He is the One going to redeem Israel. But then with all these things, this third day comes today since these things happened. ²² And also some of our women astounded us, having been early at the tomb, ²³ and not finding His body, they came saying to have seen a vision of angels also, who say Him to be alive. ²⁴ And some of those with us went to the tomb, and found it so, even as the women also said; but they did not see Him. ²⁵ And He said to them, O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe on all things which the prophets spoke! ²⁶ Was it not necessary for the Christ to suffer these things, and to enter into His glory? ²⁷ And beginning from Moses, and from all the prophets, He explained to them the things about Himself in all the Scriptures. ²⁸ And they drew near to the village where they were going, and He seemed to be going further. ²⁹ And they constrained Him, saying, Stay with us, for it is toward evening, and the day has declined. And He went in to stay with them. ³⁰ And it happened as He reclined with them, taking the loaf, He blessed, and breaking He gave to them. ³¹ And their eyes were opened, and they knew Him. And He became invisible from them. ³² And they said to one another, Was not our heart burning in us as He spoke to us in the highway, and as He opened up to us the Scriptures? ³³ And rising up in the same hour, they went back to Jerusalem, and they found the Eleven, and those with them, having been gathered, ³⁴ saying, The Lord really was raised and appeared to Simon. ³⁵ And they related the things in the highway, and how He was known to them in the breaking of the loaf. ³⁶ And as they were telling these things, Jesus Himself stood in their midst, and said to them, Peace to you! ³⁷ But being terrified and filled with fear, they thought they saw a spirit. ³⁸ And He said to them, Why are you troubled? And why do reasonings come up in your hearts. ³⁹ See My hands and My feet, that I am He? Feel Me and see, because a spirit does not have flesh and bones, as you see Me having. ⁴⁰ And saying this, He showed them His hands and feet. ⁴¹ But yet they not believing from the joy, and marveling, He said to them, Have you any food here? ⁴² And they handed a broiled part of a fish to Him, and from a honeycomb. ⁴³ And taking these before them, He ate. ⁴⁴ And He said to them, These are the words which I spoke to you yet being with you, that must be fulfilled all the things having been written in the Law of Moses, and the Prophets, and the Psalms, concerning Me. ⁴⁵ Then He opened up their mind to understand the Scriptures, ⁴⁶ and said to them, So it is written, and so the Christ must suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day. And lifting up His hands, He blessed them. ⁵¹ And it happened as He blessed them, He withdrew from them and was carried into Heaven. ⁵² And worshiping Him, they returned to Jerusalem with great joy, ⁵³ and were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.

⁵⁵ And many women were there, watching from afar off, those who followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering to Him; ⁵⁶ among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of the sons of Zebedee.

For descending from Heaven and coming near, an angel of the Lord rolled away the stone from the door and was sitting on it. ³ And his face was as lightning and his clothing white as snow. ⁴ And those keeping guard were shaken from the fear of him, and they became as dead. ⁵ But answering, the angel said to the women, You must not fear, for I know that you seek Jesus who has been crucified. ⁶ He is not here, for He was raised, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord was lying. ⁷ And going quickly say to His disciples that He was raised from the dead. And behold! He goes before you into Galilee. You will see Him there. Behold! I told you. ⁸ And going away from the tomb quickly, with fear and great joy, they ran to report to His disciples.

⁴⁰ And also women were watching from a distance, among whom also was Mary Magdalene; also Mary the mother of James the less, and of Joses, and Salome,

¹ And the sabbath passing, Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of James and Salome, bought spices, so that coming they might anoint Him. ² And very early on the first of the week, the sun having risen, they came upon the tomb. ³ And they said to themselves, Who will roll away the stone from the door of the tomb for us? ⁴ And looking up, they saw that the stone had been rolled back; for it was very large. ⁵ And entering into the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right, having been clothed in a white robe. And they were much amazed. ⁶ But He said to them, Do not be amazed. You seek Jesus the Nazarene who has been crucified. He was raised. He is not here. See the place where they put Him? ⁷ But go, say to the disciples and to Peter, He goes before you into Galilee. You will see Him there, even as He told you. ⁸ And going out quickly, they fled from the tomb. And trembling and ecstasy took hold of them. And they told no one, not a thing, for they were afraid.

² also certain women who were healed from evil spirits and infirmities: Mary, having been called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out, ³ and Joanna, wife of Chuza, Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many others, who were ministering to Him of their possessions.

⁵⁵ And also women were following, who were accompanying Him out of Galilee, who watched the tomb, and how His body was placed. ⁵⁶ And returning, they prepared spices and ointment. And indeed they rested on the sabbath, according to the commandment.

¹⁰ And they were Mary Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary mother of James, and the rest with them, who told these things to the apostles.

¹ But on the first of the week, Mary Magdalene came early to the tomb, darkness yet being on it . And she saw the stone had been removed from the tomb. ² Then she ran and came to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved, and said to them, They took away the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they laid Him.

⁶⁰ and laid it in his new tomb, which he had cut out in the rock. And rolling a great stone to the door of the tomb, he departed. ⁶¹ And there was Mary Magdalene and the other Mary, sitting across from the grave. ⁶² And on the morrow, which is after the Preparation, the chief priests and the Pharisees were assembled to Pilate, ⁶³ saying, Sir, we have recalled that that deceiver while living said, After three days I will rise. ⁶⁴ Therefore, command that the grave be secured until the third day, that his disciples may not come by night and steal him away, and may say to the people, He is raised from the dead. And the last deception will be worse than the first. ⁶⁵ And Pilate said to them, You have a guard, go away, make it as secure as you know how . ⁶⁶ And going along with the guard, they made the grave secure, sealing the stone.

² And, behold! A great earthquake occurred! For descending from Heaven and coming near, an angel of the Lord rolled away the stone from the door and was sitting on it.

⁴⁶ And having bought a linen cloth, and having taken Him down, he wrapped Him in the linen, and laid Him in a tomb which was cut out of rock. And he rolled a stone against the mouth of the tomb. ⁴⁷ And Mary Magdalene, and Mary of Joses, saw where He was laid.

³ And they said to themselves, Who will roll away the stone from the door of the tomb for us? ⁴ And looking up, they saw that the stone had been rolled back; for it was very large. ⁵ And His disciples coming to the other side, they forgot to take loaves.

²³ and not finding His body, they came saying to have seen a vision of angels also, who say Him to be alive.

⁶ Then Simon Peter came following him, and went into the tomb and saw the linens lying. ⁷ And the grave cloth which was on His head was not lying with the linens, but was wrapped up in one place by itself.

² And he lifted up his eyes and looked; and, behold, three men were standing by him. And he saw, and he ran to meet them from the entrance of the tent. And he bowed to the ground.

² And, behold! A great earthquake occurred! ¹¹ But Mary stood outside at the tomb, weeping. Then as she wept, she stooped down into the tomb. ¹² And she saw two angels in white, sitting one at the head, and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain.

¹⁰ And as they were intently looking into the heaven, He having gone, even behold, two men in white clothing stood by them,

¹⁷ And he came beside my place. And when he came, I feared and fell on my face. But he said to me, O son of man, understand, for the vision is for the time of the end. ¹⁸ And while he was speaking with me, I was stunned and on my face toward the ground. But he touched me and made me stand.

⁷ And I, Daniel, alone saw the vision. For the men who were with me did not see the vision. But a great trembling fell on them so that they fled to hide themselves. ⁸ Then I was left alone, and I saw his great vision, and there remained no strength in me. For my glory was turned within me into corruption, and I kept no strength. ⁹ Yet I heard the sound of his words. And when I heard the sound of his words, then I was on my face, stunned, and my face was toward the ground. ¹⁰ And, behold, a hand touched me and set me shaking on my knees and the palms of my hands. ¹¹ And he said to me, O Daniel, a man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak to you and stand up. For I am now sent to you. And when he had spoken this word to me, I stood, trembling. ¹² And he said to me, Do not fear, Daniel. For from the first day that you set your heart to understand and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard. And I have come because of your words.

¹⁶ And, behold, one in form as the sons of men touched my lips. And I opened my mouth and spoke and said to him who stood before me, O lord, my pangs have come over me because of the vision, and I have no strength left.

¹⁹ And he said, O man greatly beloved, do not fear. Peace to you. Be strong. Yea, be strong! And when he had spoken to me I was made strong. And I said, Speak, my lord, for you have made me strong.

³ And his face was as lightning and his clothing white as snow. ⁴ And those keeping guard were shaken from the fear of him, and they became as dead. ⁵ But answering, the angel said to the women, You must not fear, for I know that you seek Jesus who has been crucified.

¹² And seeing this, Zacharias was troubled, and fear fell on him. ¹³ But the angel said to him, Do not fear, Zacharias, because your prayer was heard, and your wife Elizabeth will bear a son to you, and you shall call his name John.

²⁹ And seeing this, she was disturbed at his word, and considered what kind of greeting this might be.

³ About the ninth hour of the day, he saw plainly in a vision an angel of God coming to him, and saying to him, Cornelius! ⁴ And he was staring at him, and becoming terrified he said, What is it, Sir? And he said to him, Your prayers and your alms went up for a memorial before God.

⁸ And here dying men indeed receive tithes, but there it having been witnessed that he lives;

¹⁸ and the Living One; and I became dead; and, behold, I am living forever and ever. Amen. And I have the keys to Hades, and of death.

⁸ And to the angel of the church of Smyrna, write: These things says the First and the Last, who became dead, and lived:

⁴⁰ And even as "Jonah was in the belly of the huge fish three days and three nights," so shall the Son of man be in the heart of the earth three days and three nights. Jon. 1:17

²¹ From that time, Jesus began to show to His disciples that it was necessary for Him to go away to Jerusalem, and to suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and to be killed, and to be raised on the third day.

²² And while they were staying in Galilee, Jesus said to them, The Son of man is about to be delivered into the hands of men. ²³ And they will kill Him, and on the third day He will be raised. And they grieved exceedingly.

¹⁸ Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of man will be betrayed to the chief priests and scribes. And they will condemn Him to death. ¹⁹ And they will deliver Him up to the nations to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify. And the third day He will rise again.

⁶³ saying, Sir, we have recalled that that deceiver while living said, After three days I will rise.

⁶ He is not here, for He was raised, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord was lying.

³¹ And He began to teach them that it is necessary for the Son of man to suffer many things and to be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and to be killed, and after three days to rise again.

⁹ And as they were coming down from the mount, He commanded them that they should tell no one what they saw, except when the Son of man should rise from the dead. ¹⁰ And they held the word to themselves, debating what it is to rise from the dead.

³⁰ And going forth from there, they passed by through Galilee. And He desired that no one know. ³¹ For He taught His disciples, and said to them, The Son of man is betrayed into the hands of men, and they will kill Him. And being killed, He will rise up the third day. ³² But they did not know the word, and feared to question Him.

³³ Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem. And the Son of man will be betrayed to the chief priests and to the scribes. And they will condemn Him to death and will betray Him to the nations. ³⁴ And they will mock Him and will flog Him and will spit at Him, and will kill Him. And on the third day He will rise again.

²² saying, The Son of man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day.

⁴⁴ You lay into your ears these sayings, for the Son of man is about to be betrayed into the hands of men.

³¹ And taking the Twelve, He said to them, Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and all things will be fulfilled which have been written through the prophets to the Son of man. ³² For He will be delivered up to the nations, and will be mocked, and will be insulted, and will be spat upon. ³³ And flogging Him, they will kill Him. And on the third day He will rise again.

¹⁹ Jesus said to them, Destroy this sanctuary, and in three days I will raise it up. ²⁰ Then the Jews said, This sanctuary was forty six years being built, and do you raise it up in three days? ²¹ But He spoke about the sanctuary of His body. ²² Then when He was raised from the dead, His disciples recalled that He said this to them. And they believed the Scripture, and the word which Jesus spoke.

Turning around, she said to Him, Rabboni! (that is to say, Teacher). ¹⁷ Jesus said to her, Do not touch Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father. But go to My brothers and say to them, I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and My God, and your God. ¹⁸ Mary Magdalene came bringing word to the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that He told her these things.

¹⁴ And Lot went out to speak to his sons-in-law, those taking his daughters. And he said, Rise up, go out from this place, for Jehovah is about to destroy the city. And he seemed as one joking to his sons-in-law.

² And the third officer on whose hand the king leaned replied to the man of God, and said, Behold, if Jehovah would make windows in the heavens, this thing might be. And he said, Behold, you shall see with your eyes, but you shall not eat of it.

¹⁶ If I had called and He had answered me; I would not believe that He had listened to my voice;

¹ A Song of Ascents. When Jehovah turned back the captivity of Zion, we were like those who dream.

¹¹ And those hearing that He lives, and was seen by her, they did not believe.

²⁵ And He said to them, O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe on all things which the prophets spoke!

⁹ And going out, he followed him, and did not know that this happening through the angel was real, but he thought he saw a vision.

³ Then Peter and the other disciple went out and came to the tomb. ⁴ And the two ran together, and the other disciple ran in front more quickly than Peter and came first to the tomb. ⁵ And stooping down, he saw the linens lying; however, he did not go in. ⁶ Then Simon Peter came following him, and went into the tomb and saw the linens lying. ⁷ And the grave cloth which was on His head was not lying with the linens, but was wrapped up in one place by itself. ⁸ Therefore, then the other disciple also entered, he having come first to the tomb, even he saw and believed. ⁹ For they did not yet know the Scripture, that it was necessary for Him to rise from the dead. ¹⁰ Then the disciples went away again to themselves.

¹² And after these things, He was revealed in a different form to two of them walking and going into the country. ¹³ And going, those reported to the rest. Neither did they believe those.

¹⁸ And answering, one of them whose name was Cleopas, said to Him, Are you only one who resides in Jerusalem and do not know the things happening in it in these days?

⁷ And you shall teach them to your sons, and shall speak of them as you sit in your house, and as you walk in the way, and as you are lying down, and as you are rising up.

⁶ For I am Jehovah, I change not. Because of this, you sons of Jacob are not destroyed.

⁴⁵ The good man brings forth good out of the good treasure of his heart. And the evil man brings forth evil out of the evil treasure of his heart, for his mouth speaks out of the abundance of his heart.

²⁰ For where two or three are gathered together in My name, there I am in their midst.

³⁶ And as they were telling these things, Jesus Himself stood in their midst, and said to them, Peace to you!

¹⁸ I will not leave you orphans; I am coming to you. ¹⁹ Yet a little while and the world no longer sees Me, but you see Me. Because I live, you also shall live.

¹⁸ And they came down to it, and Elisha prayed to Jehovah and said, I beg You, strike this nation with blindness. And he struck them with blindness, according to the word of Elisha. ¹⁹ And Elisha said to them, This is not the way, nor is this the city. Follow me, and I will lead you to the man you seek. And he led them to Samaria. ²⁰ And it happened, when they came to Samaria, Elisha said, Open the eyes of these, O Jehovah, and they will see. And Jehovah opened their eyes, and they looked; and, behold, they were in the middle of Samaria!

¹² And after these things, He was revealed in a different form to two of them walking and going into the country.

³¹ And their eyes were opened, and they knew Him. And He became invisible from them.

¹⁴ And saying these things, she turned backward and saw Jesus standing, and did not know that it was Jesus.

⁴ And it now becoming early morning, Jesus stood on the shore. However, the disciples did not know that it was Jesus.

⁴ And Jehovah said to him, Pass through in the midst of the city, in the midst of Jerusalem, and mark a mark on the foreheads of the men who are groaning and are mourning over all the abominations that are done in her midst. ⁵ And He said to those in my hearing, Pass over in the city after him and strike. Do not let your eye spare, and do not have pity. ⁶ Slay old men, choice men, and virgins, and children, and women, all to destruction. But to every man who has the mark on him, do not come near. And begin from My sanctuary. And they began with the old men who were before the house.

⁶ But because I have said these things to you, grief has filled your heart.

²⁰ Truly, truly, I say to you that you will weep and will lament, but the world will rejoice. And you will be grieved, but your grief will become joy. ²¹ The woman has grief when she bears, because her hour came, but when she brings forth the child, she no longer remembers the distress, because of the joy that a man was born into the world. ²² And you, then, truly have grief now; but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one takes your joy from you.

²⁵ And His mother, and His mother's sister Mary, the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene stood by the cross of Jesus.

¹¹ And the crowds said, This is Jesus, the Prophet, the one from Nazareth of Galilee.

²⁴ saying, What is to us and to You, Jesus, Nazarene? Have You come to destroy us? I know You, who You are, the Holy One of God.

¹⁶ And fear took hold of all; and they glorified God, saying, A great prophet has risen up among us; and, God has visited His people.

² This one came to Jesus by night and said to Him, Rabbi, we know that You have come as a teacher from God. For no one is able to do these miracles which You do, except God be with Him.

¹⁹ The woman said to Him, Sir, I perceive that you are a prophet.

¹⁴ Then seeing what miracle Jesus did, the men said, This is truly the Prophet, the one coming into the world.

⁴⁰ Then hearing the word, many of the crowd said, This is truly the Prophet. ⁴¹ Others said, This is the Christ. But others said, No! For does the Christ come out of Galilee? ⁴² Has not the Scripture said that the Christ comes from the seed of David, and from Bethlehem, the village where David was? Mic. 5:2

⁵² They answered and said to him, Are you also from Galilee? Search and see that a prophet has not been raised out of Galilee.

²² Men, Israelites, hear these words: Jesus the Nazarene, a man from God, having been approved among you by powerful deeds and wonders and miracles, which God did through Him in your midst, as you yourselves also know,

²² And Moses was instructed in all the wisdom of Egyptians and was powerful in words and in works.

³⁸ Jesus the One from Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good, and healing all those having been oppressed by the Devil, because God was with Him.

¹ And it becoming early morning, all the chief priests and the elders of the people took counsel together against Jesus, so as to put Him to death. ² And binding Him, they led Him away and delivered Him to Pontius Pilate the governor.

²⁰ But the chief priests and the elders persuaded the crowds, that they should ask for Barabbas, and to destroy Jesus.

¹ And immediately in the morning, the chief priests with the elders and scribes and all the sanhedrin forming a council, binding Jesus, they led Him away and delivered Him to Pilate.

⁶⁶ And when day came, the body of elders of the people, the chief priests and scribes, were gathered. And they led Him away into their sanhedrin, saying,

¹³ And having called together the chief priests and the rulers and the people,

¹³ The "God of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob," "the God of our fathers," Ex. 3:15 glorified His child Jesus, whom you delivered up, and denied Him in the presence of Pilate, that one having decided to set Him free. ¹⁴ But you denied the Holy and Just One, and asked for a man, a murderer, to be granted to you. ¹⁵ And the Author of Life you killed, whom God raised up from the dead, of which we are witnesses.

⁸ Then being filled of the Holy Spirit, Peter said to them, Rulers of the people and elders of Israel, ⁹ if we are being examined today on a good work of an infirm man, by what this one has been healed, ¹⁰ let it be known to all of you, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazaraean, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, in this name this one stands before you whole.

²⁷ For truly both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the nations and the peoples of Israel, were gathered together against Your holy child Jesus, whom You anointed, ²⁸ to do whatever Your hand and Your counsel before-determined to be done.

³⁰ The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom you seized, hanging Him on a tree. ³¹ This One God has exalted as a Ruler and Savior to His right hand, to give to Israel repentance and remission of sins.

²⁷ For those dwelling in Jerusalem, and their rulers, not having known this One, and the voices of the prophets being read throughout every sabbath, condemning Him, they fulfilled the Scriptures . ²⁸ And finding not one cause of death, they asked Pilate to do away with Him. ²⁹ And when they finished all the things having been written concerning Him, taking Him down from the tree, they laid Him in a tomb.

⁸ and He shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.

²⁰ And the Redeemer comes to Zion, and to those in Jacob who turn from transgression, declares Jehovah.

⁶⁸ Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, because He visited and worked redemption for His people.

³⁸ And coming on at the very hour, she gave thanks to the Lord, and spoke concerning Him to all those in Jerusalem eagerly expecting redemption.

⁶ Then, indeed, coming together they questioned Him, saying, Lord, do You restore the kingdom to Israel at this time?

¹⁸ knowing that not with corruptible things, silver or gold, you were redeemed from your worthless way of life handed down from your fathers, ¹⁹ but with precious blood of Christ, as of an unblemished and unspotted lamb,

⁹ And they sing a new song, saying, Worthy are You to receive the scroll, and to open its seals, because You were slain, and by Your blood purchased us to God out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation,

⁹ And rising early on the first of the week, He first appeared to Mary Magdalene, from whom He had cast out seven demons. ¹⁰ That one had gone and reported to those who had been with Him, who were mourning and weeping.

¹ But on the first of the sabbaths, while still very early, they came on the tomb, carrying spices which they prepared; and some were with them. ² And they found the stone having been rolled away from the tomb. ³ And going in, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. ⁴ And it happened, as they were perplexed about this, even behold, two men in shining clothing stood by them. ⁵ And they becoming terrified, and bowing their faces to the earth, they said to them, Why do you seek the living with the dead? ⁶ He is not here, but was raised. Remember how He spoke to you, yet being in Galilee, ⁷ saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and to be crucified, and the third day to rise again. ⁸ And they remembered His words. ⁹ And returning from the tomb, they reported all these things to the Eleven, and to all the rest. ¹⁰ And they were Mary Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary mother of James, and the rest with them, who told these things to the apostles. ¹¹ And their words seemed like foolishness to them, and they did not believe them.

¹⁸ Mary Magdalene came bringing word to the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that He told her these things.

¹² But rising up, Peter ran to the tomb, and stooping down he saw the linen lying alone. And he went away wondering to himself at what had happened.

¹ But on the first of the week, Mary Magdalene came early to the tomb, darkness yet being on it . And she saw the stone had been removed from the tomb. ² Then she ran and came to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved, and said to them, They took away the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they laid Him.

¹⁸ And He said to them, Are you also so undiscerning? Do you not perceive that all that enters from the outside into the man is not able to defile him?

¹⁷ And knowing, Jesus said to them, Why do you reason because you have no loaves? Do you not yet perceive nor realize? Have you still hardened your heart? ¹⁸ "Having eyes, do you not see? And having ears, do you not hear?" And do you not remember? Jer. 5:21

¹⁹ And answering them, He said, O unbelieving generation! How long will I be with you? How long shall I endure you? Bring him to Me.

¹⁴ Afterward, as they reclined, He was revealed to the Eleven. And He reproached their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him, having been raised.

¹¹ Concerning whom we have much to say, and hard to interpret since you have become dull in hearing. ¹² For indeed because of the time you are due to be teachers, yet you need to have someone to teach you again the rudiments of the beginning of the oracles of God, and you have become in need of milk, and not of solid food;

My God, my God, why have You forsaken me, and are far from my deliverance, from the words of my groaning? ² O my God, I cry by day, but You do not answer; and in the night, and there is no silence to me. ³ But You are holy, being enthroned on Israel's praises. ⁴ Our fathers trusted in You; they trusted, and You delivered them. ⁵ They cried to You, and were delivered; they trusted in You, and were not ashamed. ⁶ But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of mankind, and despised by the people. ⁷ All who see Me scornfully laugh at me; they open the lip; they shake the head, saying, ⁸ He rolled on Jehovah, let Him deliver Him; let Him rescue Him, since He delights in Him. ⁹ For You are He, my Taker from the womb; causing me to trust on My mother's breasts. ¹⁰ I was cast on You from the womb, from My mother's belly, You are my God. ¹¹ Be not far from Me; for trouble is near; because no one is there to help. ¹² Many bulls have circled around Me; strong bulls of Bashan have surrounded Me. ¹³ They opened their mouth on Me, like a lion ripping and roaring. ¹⁴ I am poured out like waters, and all My bones are spread apart; My heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of My bowels. ¹⁵ My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and My tongue clings to My jaws; ¹⁶ and You appoint Me to the dust of death; for dogs have encircled Me; band of spoilers have hemmed Me in, piercers of My hands and My feet. ¹⁷ I count all My bones; they look, they stare at Me. ¹⁸ They divide My garments among them, and they made fall a lot for My clothing. ¹⁹ But You, O Jehovah, be not far off; O My Strength, hurry to help Me! ²⁰ Deliver My soul from the sword, My only one from the paw of the dog. ²¹ Save Me from the lion's mouth; and from the horns of the wild oxen. Save me, O God, for the waters have come in to my soul. ² I sink in deep mire, and there is no standing; I have come into deep waters where the floods overflow me. ³ I am weary from my crying, my throat is scorched; my eyes fail while I wait for my God. ⁴ They who hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of my head; they who would destroy me are mighty, my lying enemies; then I restored what I did not take by violence. ⁵ O God, You know my foolishness, and my guiltiness is not hidden from You. ⁶ O Jehovah of hosts, do not let those who wait on You be ashamed for my sake; let not the ones who seek You be ashamed for my sake, O God of Israel. ⁷ Because I suffered reproach for Your sake, shame has covered my face. ⁸ I have become a stranger to my brothers and a foreigner to my mother's children. ⁹ For the zeal of Your house has consumed Me; and the reproaches of the ones who reproach You have fallen on Me. ¹⁰ When I humbled my soul with fasting, it also was to my reproach; ¹¹ I also made sackcloth my clothing, and I became a mockery to them. ¹² They who sit in the gate spoke of me; and I was the song of drunkards. ¹³ But as for me, my prayer is to You, O Jehovah, at a time of favor, O God! in the plentitude of Your mercy answer me, in the truth of Your salvation. ¹⁴ Deliver me out of the mire, that I may not sink; let me be delivered from those who hate me, and out of the deep waters. ¹⁵ Let not the flood waters overflow me, nor let the deep swallow me up; and let not the pit shut its mouth on me. ¹⁶ Hear me, O Jehovah, for Your mercy is good; in the plentitude of Your tender mercies, turn toward me. ¹⁷ And do not hide Your face from Your servant; for I am distressed; hear me quickly; ¹⁸ draw near my soul; redeem it; ransom me because of my enemies. ¹⁹ You know my reproach and my shame, and my dishonor; my enemies are all before You. ²⁰ Reproach has broken my heart, and I am faint; and I waited for one to show pity, but there was no one; and for comforters, but I found none. ²¹ They also gave Me gall in my food; and in My thirst they gave Me vinegar to drink. ²² Let their table be a trap before them, and to those at ease a snare. ²³ Let their eyes be darkened from seeing, and cause their loins to quiver continually. ²⁴ Pour out Your wrath on them; and let the glow of Your anger overtake them. ²⁵ Let their home be made desolate; let no one dwell in their tents. ²⁶ For whom You have stricken, they have persecuted; and they gossip to the pain of those You pierced. ²⁷ Put iniquity to their iniquity, and do not let them enter into Your righteousness. ²⁸ Blot them out from the Book of Life; yea, let them not be written with the righteous. ²⁹ But I am poor and in pain; O God, Your salvation shall set me on high. ³⁰ I will praise God's name in a song; and I will magnify Him with thanks. ³¹ And it shall please Jehovah more than bulls, horned or hoofed bull. ³² The humble have seen and are glad; you who seek God, your heart shall live. ³³ For Jehovah hears the needy, and He does not despise His prisoners. ³⁴ Let the heavens and the earth praise Him; the seas, and everything that moves in them. ³⁵ For God will save Zion; and He will build the cities of Judah, and they shall live there and possess it. ³⁶ And His servants' seed shall inherit; and they who love His name shall live in it.

¹ Who has believed our report? And to whom is the arm of Jehovah revealed? ² For He comes up before Him as a tender plant, and as a root out of dry ground. He has no form nor magnificence that we should see Him; nor form that we should desire Him. ³ He is despised and abandoned of men, a Man of pains, and acquainted with sickness. And as it were hiding our faces from Him, He being despised, and we did not value Him. ⁴ Surely He has borne our sicknesses, and He carried our pain; yet we esteemed Him plagued, smitten by God, and afflicted. ⁵ But He was wounded for our transgressions; He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His wounds we ourselves are healed. ⁶ All we like sheep have gone astray; we have each one turned to his own way; and Jehovah made meet in Him the iniquity of all of us. ⁷ He was oppressed, and He was afflicted, but He did not open His mouth. He was led as a lamb to the slaughter; and as a ewe before her shearers is dumb, so He opened not His mouth. ⁸ He was taken from prison and from justice; and who shall consider His generation? For He was cut off out of the land of the living; from the transgression of My people, the stroke was to Him. ⁹ And He put His grave with the wicked; and with a rich man in His death; although He had done no violence, and deceit was not in His mouth. ¹⁰ But Jehovah pleased to crush Him, to make Him sick, so that If He should put His soul as a guilt offering, He shall see His seed; He shall prolong His days; and the will of Jehovah shall prosper in His hand. ¹¹ He shall see the fruit of the travail of His soul; He shall be fully satisfied. By His knowledge shall My righteous Servant justify for many, and He shall bear their iniquities. ¹² Because of this I will divide to Him with the great, and with the strong He shall divide the spoil; because He poured out His soul to death; and He was counted with transgressors; and He bore the sin of many, and made intercession for transgressors.

⁷ O sword, awake against My Shepherd, and against the Man who is My companion, says Jehovah of hosts. Strike the Shepherd and the sheep will be scattered. And I will turn My hand against the little ones.

⁷ saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and to be crucified, and the third day to rise again.

⁴⁴ And He said to them, These are the words which I spoke to you yet being with you, that must be fulfilled all the things having been written in the Law of Moses, and the Prophets, and the Psalms, concerning Me.

³ opening and setting forth that the Christ must have suffered, and to have risen from the dead, and that this is the Christ, Jesus, whom I announce to you.

³ For I delivered to you in the first place what I also received, that Christ died for our sins, according to the Scriptures, ⁴ and that He was buried, and that He was raised the third day, according to the Scriptures,

⁸ You put all things under his feet." Psa. 8:4 -6 For in putting all things under him, He left nothing not subjected to him. But now we do not yet see all things being subjected to him; ⁹ but we do see Jesus crowned with glory and honor, who on account of the suffering of death was made a little less than the angels, so that by the grace of God He might taste of death for every son . ¹⁰ For it was fitting for Him, because of whom are all things, and through whom are all things, bringing many sons to glory, to perfect Him as the Author of their salvation through sufferings.

²² And almost all things are cleansed by blood according to the Law; and apart from shedding of blood no remission occurs. ²³ Then it was needful for the figures of the things in the heavens to be cleansed with these; but the heavenly things themselves by better sacrifices than these.

³ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, He according to His great mercy having regenerated us to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

¹¹ searching for what, or what sort of time the Spirit of Christ made clear within them; testifying beforehand of the sufferings belonging to Christ, and the glories after these.

¹⁵ And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; He will bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.

³ And I will bless those who bless you, and curse the one despising you. And in you all families of the earth shall be blessed.

¹⁸ And in your Seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed because you have obeyed My voice.

¹² When your days are fulfilled, and you lie with your fathers, then I shall raise up your seed after you, who shall come out from your bowels, and I shall establish his kingdom. ¹³ He shall build a house for My Name, and I shall establish the throne of his kingdom forever. ¹⁴ I shall be a father to him, and he shall be a son to Me. ¹¹ Jehovah has sworn to David in truth; He will not turn from it; I will set one of the fruit of your body on the throne for you.

¹⁴ So, The Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold! The virgin will conceive and will bring forth a son; and she shall call His name Immanuel.

⁶ For a Child is born; to us a Son is given; and the government is on His shoulder; and His name is called Wonderful, Counselor, the mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace. ⁷ There is no end to the increase of His government and of peace on the throne of David, and on His kingdom, to order it, and to sustain it with justice and with righteousness, from now and forever. The zeal of Jehovah of Hosts will do this.

¹⁰ Behold, the Lord Jehovah will come with strength, and His arm rules for Him. Behold, His reward is with Him, and His wage before Him. ¹¹ He shall feed His flock like a shepherd; He shall gather lambs with His arm; and carry them in His bosom; those with young He will lead;

⁶ I gave My back to strikers, and My cheeks to pluckers; I did not hide My face from shame and spitting.

¹³ Behold, My Servant shall rule wisely; He shall be exalted and lifted up and be very high. ¹⁴ Just as many were astonished over You, so much was the disfigurement from man, His appearance and His form from sons of mankind.

⁵ Behold, the days come, says Jehovah, that I will raise to David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and act wisely, and shall do justice and righteousness in the earth. ⁶ In His days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely. And this is His name by which He shall be called, Jehovah our Righteousness.

¹⁴ Behold, the days come, says Jehovah, that I will fulfill the good thing which I have promised to the house of Israel and to the house of Judah. ¹⁵ In those days, and at that time, I will cause a Branch of righteousness to grow up to David. And He shall do judgment and righteousness in the land.

And the people of a coming prince shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. And its end shall be with the flood, and ruins are determined, and war shall be until the end.

² And you, Bethlehem Ephratah, being least among the thousands of Judah, out of you He shall come forth to Me to become Ruler in Israel; and His goings forth have been from of old, from the days of eternity. ³ So He will give them over until the time the one giving birth has given birth. Then the rest of His brothers shall return to the sons of Israel. ⁴ And He shall stand and feed in the strength of Jehovah, in the majesty of the name of Jehovah His God. And they shall sit, for now He is great to the ends of the earth.

²⁰ You will give faithfulness to Jacob, kindness to Abraham, which You have sworn to our fathers from the days of old.

⁹ Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King comes to you! He is righteous and victorious, lowly, and riding on an ass, even on a colt, the son of an ass.

¹ Behold, I am sending My messenger, and He will clear the way before Me. And the Lord whom you are seeking shall suddenly come to His temple, even the Angel of the Covenant, in whom you delight. Behold, He comes, says Jehovah of hosts. ² But who can endure the day of His coming? And who will stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner's fire and like fuller's soap. ³ And He shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; and He shall purify the sons of Levi and purge them like gold and like silver, that they may be presenters of a food offering in righteousness to Jehovah.

² But to you who fear My name, the Sun of Righteousness shall rise up, and healing will be on His wings. And you shall go out and frisk like calves of the stall.

⁴⁵ Philip finds Nathanael and said to him, We have found the One of whom Moses wrote in the Law and the Prophets, Jesus the son of Joseph, from Nazareth.

³⁹ You search the Scriptures, for you think in them you have everlasting life. And they are the ones witnessing concerning Me.

⁴⁵ Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father; there is one accusing you, Moses, in whom you have hoped. ⁴⁶ For if you were believing Moses, you would then believe Me; for that one wrote concerning Me. ⁴⁷ But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?

¹⁹ And commanding the crowds to recline on the grass, and taking the five loaves and two fish, looking up to Heaven, He blessed. And breaking, He gave the loaves to the disciples, and the disciples gave to the crowds.

³⁶ And taking the seven loaves and the fish, giving thanks, He broke and gave to His disciples, and the disciples to the crowd.

²⁶ And as they ate, taking the bread and blessing it, Jesus broke and gave to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is My body.

⁴¹ And taking the five loaves and the two fish, looking up to Heaven, He blessed, and broke the loaves, and gave to His disciples, that they might set before them. And He divided the two fish to all.

⁶ And He ordered the crowd to recline on the ground. And taking the seven loaves, giving thanks, He broke and gave to His disciples, that they might serve. And they served the crowd.

²² And as they were eating, Jesus taking a loaf, blessing, He broke and gave to them. And He said, Take, eat, this is My body.

¹⁶ And taking the five loaves and the two fish, looking up to Heaven, He blessed them, and broke, and gave to the disciples to set before the crowd.

¹⁹ And taking a loaf, giving thanks, He broke, and gave to them, saying, This is My body being given for you. Do this for My remembrance.

³⁵ And they related the things in the highway, and how He was known to them in the breaking of the loaf.

¹¹ And Jesus took the loaves, and giving thanks distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to those reclining. And in the same way the fish, as much as they desired.

³⁵ And saying these things, and taking bread, he gave thanks to God before all; and breaking, he began to eat.

³⁰ But He went away, passing through their midst.

¹⁶ But their eyes were held so as not to recognize Him.

⁵⁹ Because of this, they took up stones that they might throw them on Him. But Jesus was hidden, and went forth out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.

¹³ And they said to her, Woman, why do you weep? She said to them, Because they took away my Lord, and I do not know where they put Him. ¹⁴ And saying these things, she turned backward and saw Jesus standing, and did not know that it was Jesus. ¹⁵ Jesus said to her, Woman, why do you weep? Whom do you seek? Thinking that it was the gardener, she said to Him, Sir, if you carried Him away, tell me where you put Him, and I will take Him away. ¹⁶ Jesus said to her, Mary! Turning around, she said to Him, Rabboni! (that is to say, Teacher).

³ My heart was hot within me; while the fire burned I was meditating; I spoke with my tongue:

³⁴ My thoughts on Him shall be sweet; I will be glad in Jehovah.

⁹ Ointment and perfume give joy to the heart, and one's friend is sweet from the counsel of the soul.

¹⁷ Iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens his friend's face.

⁴ The Lord Jehovah has given to Me the tongue of taught ones, to know to help the weary with a word. He arouses in the morning; He wakens the ear to Me, to hear as the learned.

¹⁶ Your words were found and I ate them; and Your Word was to me the joy and gladness of my heart. For I am called by Your name, O Jehovah, God of hosts.

⁹ And I said, I will not mention Him or speak any more in His name. But His Word was in my heart like a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary of holding in, and I could not prevail.

²⁹ Is not My word thus like fire, says Jehovah, and like a hammer which breaks a rock in pieces?

⁴⁵ Then He opened up their mind to understand the Scriptures,

⁶³ It is the Spirit that gives life. The flesh does not profit, nothing! The words which I speak to you are spirit and are life.

² And according to Paul's custom, he went in to them and reasoned with them from the Scriptures on three sabbaths, ³ opening and setting forth that the Christ must have suffered, and to have risen from the dead, and that this is the Christ, Jesus, whom I announce to you.

²³ And having appointed him a day, more came to him in the lodging, to whom he expounded, earnestly testifying the kingdom of God and persuading them the things concerning Jesus, both from the law of Moses and the Prophets, from morning until evening.

¹² For the word of God is living, and powerfully working, and sharper than every two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of both soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge of the thoughts and intentions of the heart;

¹³ And going, those reported to the rest. Neither did they believe those.

¹⁹ Then it being evening on that day, the first of the sabbaths, and the doors having been locked where the disciples were assembled, because of fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst and said to them, Peace to you. ²⁰ And saying this, He showed them His hands and side. Then seeing the Lord, the disciples rejoiced. ²¹ Then Jesus said to them again, Peace to you. As the Father has sent Me, I also send you. ²² And saying this, He breathed on them and said to them, Receive the Holy Spirit. ²³ Of whomever you forgive the sins, they are forgiven to them. Or whomever you may retain, they are retained. ²⁴ But Thomas, one of the Twelve, the one called Twin, was not with them when Jesus came. ²⁵ Then the other disciples said to him, We have seen the Lord. But he said to them, Unless I see the mark of the nails in His hands, and thrust my finger into the mark of the nails, and thrust my hand into His side, in no way will I believe. ²⁶ And after eight days, His disciples were inside again, and Thomas was with them. The door having been locked, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said, Peace to you.

¹⁴ These all were continuing steadfastly in prayer and in supplication with one mind, with the women, and with Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.

⁷ But go, say to the disciples and to Peter, He goes before you into Galilee. You will see Him there, even as He told you.

⁵⁴ And laying hold of Him, they led Him away and led Him into the house of the high priest. And Peter followed at a distance. ⁵⁵ And lighting a fire in the middle of the court, and they sitting down, Peter sat in their midst. ⁵⁶ And a certain slave woman seeing him sitting near the light, and looking intently at him, she said, And this one was with him. ⁵⁷ But he denied Him, saying, Woman, I do not know Him. ⁵⁸ And after a while, another seeing him said, You also are of them. But Peter said, Man, I am not. ⁵⁹ And about an hour intervening, a certain other one boldly charged, saying, Truly this one also was with him, for he also is a Galilean. ⁶⁰ And Peter said, Man, I do not know what you say. And immediately, while he yet spoke, the cock crowed. ⁶¹ And turning, the Lord looked at Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how He told him, Before a cock would crow, you will deny Me three times. ⁶² And going outside, Peter wept bitterly.

⁵ and that He appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve.

³⁰ And it happened as He reclined with them, taking the loaf, He blessed, and breaking He gave to them. ³¹ And their eyes were opened, and they knew Him. And He became invisible from them.

⁴² And they were continuing steadfastly in the doctrine of the apostles, and in fellowship, and in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.

¹⁸ His ways I have seen, but I will heal him, and will lead him and restore comforting to him and to his mourners.

¹³ and if the house truly is worthy, let your peace come upon it. But if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you.

⁵ And into whatever house you may enter, first say, Peace to this house.

²⁷ I leave peace to you; My peace I give to you. Not as the world gives I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, nor let it be timid.

³³ I have spoken these things to you that you may have peace in Me. You have distress in the world; but be encouraged, I have overcome the world.

¹⁶ And may the Lord of peace Himself continually give peace to you in every way. The Lord be with all of you.

⁴ John to the seven churches in Asia: Grace to you, and peace, from the One who is, and who was, and who is coming, and from the seven spirits which are before His throne;

¹³ And the king said to her, Do not be afraid. For what have you seen? And the woman said to Saul, I have seen a god coming up out of the earth.

¹⁴ fear and trembling met me, and made my many bones dread. ¹⁵ Then a spirit passed before my face; the hair of my flesh stood up; ¹⁶ it stood still, but I could not discern its form; an image was before my eyes; there was silence; then I heard a voice:

²⁶ And seeing Him walking on the sea, the disciples were troubled, saying, It is a ghost! And they cried out from the fear. ²⁷ But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, Be comforted! I AM! Do not fear.

⁴⁹ But seeing Him walking on the sea, they thought it to be a ghost. And they cried out. ⁵⁰ For all saw Him, and were troubled. And immediately He spoke to them and said to them, Have courage. I AM! Do not fear.

³⁰ But he said, No, father Abraham, but if one should go from the dead to them, they will repent.

¹⁵ But they said to her, You are raving. But she insisted, holding it to be so. And they said, It is his angel.

¹⁴ O Jerusalem, cleanse your heart from evil so that you may be saved. Until when will your vain thoughts lodge within you?

⁵ I saw a dream, and it terrified me, and the thoughts on my bed and visions of my head troubled me.

¹⁹ Then Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, was stunned for one hour, and his thoughts troubled him. The king spoke and said, O Belteshazzar, do not let the dream or its meaning trouble you. Belteshazzar answered and said, My lord, the dream is to those who hate you, and its meaning is to your foes.

⁸ And knowing, Jesus said to them, Why do you reason among yourselves because you took no loaves, little-faiths?

¹³ and there is no creature unrevealed before Him; but all things are naked and laid open to His eyes, with whom is our account.

²² And they fell on their faces, and said, O God, God of the spirits of all flesh; shall one man sin, and will You be angry with all the congregation?

⁷ then the dust shall return to the earth as it was, and the spirit shall return to God who gave it.

⁴⁶ And crying with a loud voice, Jesus said, Father, "into Your hands I commit My spirit." And saying this, He breathed out the spirit. Psa. 31:5

²⁰ And saying this, He showed them His hands and side. Then seeing the Lord, the disciples rejoiced.

²⁵ Then the other disciples said to him, We have seen the Lord. But he said to them, Unless I see the mark of the nails in His hands, and thrust my finger into the mark of the nails, and thrust my hand into His side, in no way will I believe.

²⁷ Then He said to Thomas, Bring your finger here and see My hands, and bring your hand and thrust into My side, and be not unbelieving, but believing.

³ to whom also He presented Himself living after His suffering, by many infallible proofs, being seen by them through forty days, and speaking the things concerning the kingdom of God.

²³ And may the God of peace Himself fully sanctify you, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

⁹ Furthermore, indeed we have had fathers of our flesh as correctors, and we respected them . Shall we not much more be subject to the Father of spirits, and we shall live?

¹ We announce to you what was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we beheld, and what our hands touched, as regards the Word of Life.

²⁶ And they told him, saying, Joseph is still alive, and he is ruler in all the land of Egypt. And his heart froze up, for he did not believe them. ²⁷ And they spoke to him all Joseph's words which he had spoken to them. And he saw the wagons that Joseph had sent to carry him; and the spirit of their father Jacob revived. ²⁸ And Israel said, It is enough! My son Joseph is alive; I will go and see him before I die.

¹ A Song of Ascents. When Jehovah turned back the captivity of Zion, we were like those who dream. ² Then our mouth was full of laughter, and our tongue with joyful shouting; then they said among the nations, Jehovah will work great things with these.

²² And you, then, truly have grief now; but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one takes your joy from you.

⁵ Then Jesus said to them, Children, do you not have anything to eat? They answered Him, No.

¹⁰ Jesus said to them, Bring from the little fish which you caught now. ¹¹ Simon Peter went up and dragged the net onto the land, full of big fish, a hundred and fifty three. And though being so many, the net was not torn. ¹² Jesus said to them, Come, break fast. And no one of the disciples dared to ask Him, Who are You? knowing that it is the Lord. ¹³ Then Jesus came and took the bread, and gave to them, and in the same way the little fish.

⁴¹ not to all the people, but to witnesses, the ones having been before hand-picked by God, to us who ate and drank with Him after His rising again from the dead.

¹⁸ And Melchizedek, king of Salem, brought out bread and wine; and he was the priest of the most high God.

² And Jehovah said to Moses, Speak to your brother Aaron, and he shall not come in at all times to the sanctuary within the veil, to the front of the mercy-seat. ³ With this Aaron shall come into the sanctuary: with a bullock, a son of the herd, for a sin offering, and a ram for a burnt offering. ⁴ He shall put on a holy linen coat, and linen underpants shall be on his flesh, and he shall gird himself with a linen girdle, and he shall wrap himself in a linen miter; they are holy garments. And he shall bathe his flesh with water and shall put them on. ⁵ And he shall take from the congregation of the sons of Israel two kids of the goats for a sin offering, and one ram for a burnt offering. ⁶ And Aaron shall bring near the bullock of the sin offering which is his own, and shall make atonement for himself, and for his house. ⁷ And he shall take the two goats and shall cause them to stand before Jehovah, at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. ⁸ And Aaron shall give lots over the two goats, one lot for Jehovah, and one lot for a complete removal. ⁹ And Aaron shall bring the goat on which the lot of Jehovah fell and shall make it a sin offering. ¹⁰ And the goat on which the lot fell for a complete removal shall be made to stand living before Jehovah to atone by it, to send it away for a complete removal into the wilderness. ¹¹ And Aaron shall bring the bull of the sin offering which is his own, and shall atone for himself, and for his house, and shall kill the bullock of the sin offering which is his own. ¹² And he shall take a censer full of coals of the fire from off the altar before Jehovah, and his hands full of fragrant perfumes beaten small, and bring it within the veil. ¹³ And he shall put the incense on the fire before Jehovah, and the cloud of the incense shall cover the mercy-seat on the testimony; and he shall not die. ¹⁴ And he shall take of the blood of the bullock, and shall sprinkle with his finger on the front of the mercy-seat eastward. And he shall sprinkle at the front of the mercy-seat seven times from the blood with his finger. ¹⁵ And he shall kill the goat of the sin offering which is the people's, and shall bring in its blood to the inside of the veil, and shall do with its blood as he has done with the blood of the bullock, and shall sprinkle it on the mercy-seat, and at the front of the mercy-seat. ¹⁶ And he shall atone for the sanctuary because of the pollutions of the sons of Israel, and because of their transgressions for all their sins. And so he shall do for the tabernacle of the congregation dwelling in the midst of their pollutions. ¹⁷ And not any man shall be in the tabernacle of the congregation as he goes in to atone in the sanctuary, until he comes out. And he shall atone for himself, and for his house, and for all the congregation of Israel. ¹⁸ And he shall go out to the altar before Jehovah, and shall atone for it. And he shall take of the blood of the bullock, and of the blood of the goat, and shall put it on the horns of the altar all around. ¹⁹ And he shall sprinkle on it from the blood with his finger seven times, and shall cleanse it, and shall purify it from the uncleannesses of the sons of Israel.

⁸ And Jehovah spoke to Moses, Make yourself a fiery serpent, and set it on a pole; and it shall be that when anyone is bitten, when he sees it, he shall live.

²⁵ And the congregation shall deliver the manslayer out of the avenger of blood's hand. And the congregation shall return him to the city of refuge to which he had fled, and he shall live in it until the high priest dies, he who was anointed with the holy oil.

¹⁵ Jehovah your God shall raise up to you a Prophet from among you, of your brothers, One like me; you shall listen to Him, ¹⁶ according to all that you desired of Jehovah your God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of Jehovah my God, nor let me see this great fire any more, lest I die. ¹⁷ And Jehovah said to me, They have spoken well, what they have said. ¹⁸ I shall raise up a Prophet to them from among their brothers, one like you; and I will put My words in His mouth; and He shall speak to them all that I shall command Him. ¹⁹ And it shall be, whoever will not listen to My words which he shall speak in My name, I will require it at his hand.

¹ Why have the nations raged and the peoples are meditating on vanity? ² The kings of the earth set themselves; yea, the rulers have plotted together against Jehovah and His anointed, saying, ³ We will break their bands in two, and throw off their cords from us. ⁴ He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; Jehovah shall mock at them. ⁵ Then He will speak to them in His anger, and He will terrify them in His wrath; ⁶ Yea, I have set My king on My holy mount on Zion. ⁷ I will declare concerning the statute of Jehovah: He said to Me, You are My Son. Today I have begotten You. ⁸ Ask of Me, and I will give the nations as Your inheritance; and the uttermost parts of the earth as Your possession. ⁹ You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel. ¹⁰ Now, then, be wise, O kings; be taught, O judges of the earth: ¹¹ Serve Jehovah with fear; yea, rejoice with trembling. ¹² Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and you perish from the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little. Oh the blessings of all those who flee to Him for refuge!

⁹ So my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; my flesh shall also rest in hope; ¹⁰ For You will not leave My soul in Sheol; You will not give Your Holy One to see corruption. ¹¹ You will make Me know the way of life. In Your presence is fullness of joys; at Your right hand are pleasures forever.

⁶ Sacrifice and offering You did not desire; You have opened ears to Me. You have not asked burnt offering and sin offering. ⁷ Then I said, Lo, I come, in the roll of the Book it is written of Me; ⁸ I delight to do Your will, O My God; and Your law is within My inmost soul .

¹ Of Solomon. Give the King Your judgments, O God; and Your righteousness to the King's son. ² Your people He shall judge in righteousness, and Your poor in justice. ³ The mountains will lift up peace to the people; and the little hills through righteousness. ⁴ He shall judge the poor of the people; and He shall save the sons of the needy; and He shall crush the oppressor. ⁵ They shall fear You with the sun, and before the moon in all generations. ⁶ He shall descend like rain on the mown grass, like showers that water the earth. ⁷ In His days the righteous shall flourish, and plenty of peace, till the moon is not. ⁸ He shall also rule from sea to sea, and from the River to the ends of the earth. ⁹ Those dwelling in the desert will bow before Him, and His enemies will lick the dust. ¹⁰ The kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall bring presents; the kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts. ¹¹ Yea, all kings shall fall down before Him; all nations shall serve Him. ¹² For He shall save the needy who cries, and the poor with no helper. ¹³ He shall have pity on the poor and needy; and He saves the souls of the needy ones. ¹⁴ He shall redeem their souls from oppression and violence; and their blood shall be precious in His eyes. ¹⁵ And He shall live, and the gold of Sheba shall be given to Him; and prayer shall be made for Him continually; He shall bless Him all the day long. ¹⁶ A fullness of grain shall be in the earth on top of the mountains; its fruit shall shake like Lebanon; and they of the city shall flourish like the grass of the earth. ¹⁷ His name shall be forever; His name shall continue before the sun; and they shall bless themselves by Him; all nations shall call Him blessed. ¹⁸ Blessed is Jehovah God, the God of Israel, who alone does wonderful things. ¹⁹ And blessed is His glorious name forever; and the whole earth is filled with His glory! ¹ A Psalm of David. A statement of Jehovah to my Lord: Sit at My right hand, until I place Your enemies as Your footstool. ² Jehovah shall send the rod of Your strength out of Zion; rule in the midst of Your enemies. ³ Your people shall be willing in the day of Your power; in holy adornment from the womb of the dawn, to You is the dew of Your youth. ⁴ Jehovah has sworn and will not repent: You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek. ⁵ The Lord at Your right hand shatters kings in the day of His anger. ⁶ He shall judge among the nations; He shall fill with dead bodies; He shall shatter heads over much land. ⁷ He shall drink out of the torrent on the way; therefore, He shall lift up the head.

⁶ For a Child is born; to us a Son is given; and the government is on His shoulder; and His name is called Wonderful, Counselor, the mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace.

¹ And a Shoot goes out from the stump of Jesse, and a Branch will bear fruit out of his roots. ² And the Spirit of Jehovah shall rest on Him; He will have the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and power, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of Jehovah. ³ And He is made to breathe in the fear of Jehovah. But He shall not judge by the seeing of His eyes, nor decide by the hearing of His ears. ⁴ But He shall judge the poor in righteousness, and shall decide rightly for the meek of the earth. And He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, and He shall slay the wicked with the breath of His lips. ⁵ And righteousness shall be the encircler of His loins, and faithfulness the encircler of His reins. ⁶ And the wolf shall live with the lamb; and the leopard shall lie with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little boy shall lead them. ⁷ The cow and the bear shall feed, their young shall lie together; and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. ⁸ And the infant shall play on the hole of the asp; yea, the weaned child shall put his hand on the viper's den. ⁹ They shall not do evil, nor destroy in all My holy mountain. ¹⁶ So, the Lord Jehovah says this: Behold, I place in Zion a Stone for a foundation, a tried Stone, a precious Cornerstone, a sure Foundation; he who believes shall not hurry.

¹ Comfort, O comfort My people, says your God. ² Speak lovingly to the heart of Jerusalem; yea, cry to her that her warfare is done, that her iniquity is pardoned; for she has taken from the hand of Jehovah double for all her sins. ³ The voice of him who cries in the wilderness: Prepare the way of Jehovah; make straight in the desert a highway for our God. ⁴ Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low; and the knoll shall be a level place, and the rough places a plain. ⁵ And the glory of Jehovah shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together, for the mouth of Jehovah has spoken. ⁶ A voice said, Cry! And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all its grace as the flower of the field! ⁷ The grass withers, the flower fades because the Spirit of Jehovah blows on it. Surely the people is grass. ⁸ The grass withers; the flower fades; but the word of our God shall rise forever. ⁹ You who bring good news to Zion, go up for yourself on the high mountain, bringer of good news to Zion. Lift up your voice with strength, bringer of good news to Jerusalem. Lift up; do not fear. Say to the cities of Judah, Behold! Your God!

¹ Behold My Servant; I will uphold Him; My Elect in whom My soul delights! I have put My Spirit on Him; He shall bring forth justice to the nations. ² He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause His voice to be heard in the street. ³ A bruised reed He shall not break, and a smoking wick He shall not quench; He shall bring forth justice to truth. ⁴ He shall not fail nor be crushed until He has set justice in the earth; and the coasts shall wait for His law.

¹ Hear Me, coastlands, and you people from afar, and prick up your ear, Jehovah called Me from the womb; He mentioned My name from My mother's belly. ² And He made My mouth like a sharp sword; He hid Me in the shadow of His hand, and made Me a polished arrow; He hid me in His quiver; ³ and said to Me, You are My servant, Israel, You in whom I shall be glorified. ⁴ Then I said, I have labored in vain; I have spent My strength for nothing, and in vain; yet surely My judgment is with Jehovah, and My work with My God. ⁵ And now, says Jehovah who formed Me from the womb to be His servant, to bring Jacob back to Him: Though Israel is not gathered, yet I am honored in the eye of Jehovah, and My God is My strength. ⁶ And He said, It is too little that You should be My servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved ones of Israel; I will also give You for a light of the nations, that You may be My salvation to the end of the earth. ⁷ So says Jehovah, the Redeemer of Israel, His Holy One, to the despised of soul, to the hated of the nation, the servant of rulers, Kings shall see and rise up; and chiefs shall worship; because of Jehovah who is faithful, and the Holy One of Israel; and He chose You. ⁸ So says Jehovah: In a favorable time I have answered You, and in a day of salvation I have helped You. And I will preserve You, and give You for a covenant of the people; to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolated inheritances;

² Who knows why I have come, and no one is here ? I called, and not one answered. Is My hand truly cut short from ransom? Or is there not power in Me to deliver? Behold, at My rebuke I dry up the sea; I make rivers a wilderness; their fish stink because of no water, and die in thirst. ³ I clothe the heavens with blackness, and sackcloth makes their covering. ⁴ The Lord Jehovah has given to Me the tongue of taught ones, to know to help the weary with a word. He arouses in the morning; He wakens the ear to Me, to hear as the learned. ⁵ The Lord Jehovah has opened My ear and I did not rebel; I did not turn away backwards. ⁶ I gave My back to strikers, and My cheeks to pluckers; I did not hide My face from shame and spitting.

¹³ Behold, My Servant shall rule wisely; He shall be exalted and lifted up and be very high.

¹ The Spirit of the Lord Jehovah is on Me, because Jehovah has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the meek. He has sent Me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to captives, and complete opening to the bound ones; ² to proclaim the acceptable year of Jehovah, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn; ³ to appoint to those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, the mantle of praise instead of the spirit of infirmity, so that one calls them trees of righteousness, the planting of Jehovah, in order to beautify Himself.

⁵ Behold, the days come, says Jehovah, that I will raise to David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and act wisely, and shall do justice and righteousness in the earth.

¹⁴ Behold, the days come, says Jehovah, that I will fulfill the good thing which I have promised to the house of Israel and to the house of Judah.

²² So says the Lord Jehovah: I will also take, even I, of the top of the highest cedar and I will set it; I will crop off a tender one from the first of its young twig, and I will plant it on a high and lofty mountain.

⁴⁴ And in the days of these kings, the God of Heaven shall set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed. And the kingdom shall not be left to other people. It shall break in pieces and destroy all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.

²⁴ Seventy weeks are decreed as to your people, and as to your holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make atonement for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the Most Holy. ²⁵ Know, then, and understand that from the going out of a word to restore and to rebuild Jerusalem, to Messiah the Prince, shall be seven weeks and sixty two weeks. The street shall be built again, and the wall, even in times of affliction. ²⁶ And after sixty two weeks, Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself. And the people of a coming prince shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. And its end shall be with the flood, and ruins are determined, and war shall be until the end. ²⁷ And he shall confirm a covenant with the many for one week. And in the middle of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the offering to cease. And on a wing of the altar will be abominations that desolate, even until the end. And that which was decreed shall pour out on the desolator.

⁷ And I will have mercy on the house of Judah and will save them by Jehovah their God. And I will not save them by bow or by sword, or by battle, by horses, or by horsemen. ⁸ And she having weaned No Mercy, she conceived and bore a son. ⁹ Then He said, Call his name Not My People, for you are not My people, and I will not be for you. ¹⁰ Yet the number of the sons of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which is not measured nor numbered. And it shall be, in the place where it is said to them, You are not My people, it shall be said to them, Sons of the Living God. ¹¹ And the sons of Judah and the sons of Israel shall be gathered together, and shall set over themselves one head. And they shall go up out of the land; for great shall be the day of Jezreel.

⁵ Afterward the sons of Israel shall return and seek Jehovah their God and David their king. And they shall fear Jehovah and His goodness in the ends of the days.

²⁸ And it shall be afterward, I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh. And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions. ²⁹ And also I will pour out My Spirit on the slaves and on the slave girls in those days. ³⁰ And I will give signs in the heavens and in the earth: blood, and fire, and columns of smoke. ³¹ The sun shall be turned to darkness and the moon to blood, before the coming of the great and awesome day of Jehovah. ³² For it shall be, all who shall call on the name of Jehovah shall be saved. For salvation shall be in Mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, as Jehovah has said, and among the saved whom Jehovah shall call.

¹¹ In that day I will raise up the booth of David that has fallen, and I will wall up its breaks. And I will raise up its ruins, and I will build it as the days of old;

¹ Now gather yourself together, daughter of a troop; one sets a siege against us. They shall strike the Judge of Israel with a rod on the cheek.

⁷ And I will shake all the nations; and the desire of all nations shall come. And I will fill this house with glory, says Jehovah of hosts. ⁸ The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine, says Jehovah of hosts. ⁹ The glory of this latter house shall be greater than that of the former, says Jehovah of hosts. And in this place I will give peace, says Jehovah of hosts.

¹² And speak to him, saying, So says Jehovah of hosts, saying, Behold! The Man whose name is THE BRANCH! And He shall spring up out of His place, and He shall build the temple of Jehovah.

⁸ I also cut off three shepherds in one month. And My soul despised them, and their soul also detested Me. ⁹ Then I said, I will not feed you; that which dies, let it die; and that which is to be cut off, let it be cut off. And let the rest eat, each woman the flesh of her neighbor. ¹⁰ And I took My staff Kindness and broke it apart, to break My covenant which I had cut with all the peoples. ¹¹ And it was broken in that day, and so the poor of the flock who were watching Me knew that it was the word of Jehovah. ¹² And I said to them, If it is good in your eyes, give My price; and if not, let it go. And they weighed My price, thirty pieces of silver. ¹³ And Jehovah said to Me, Throw it to the potter, the magnificent price at which I was valued by them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver and threw it to the potter in the house of Jehovah.

¹⁰ And I will pour on the house of David, and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the Spirit of grace and of prayers. And they shall look on Me whom they have pierced; and they shall mourn for Him, as one mourns for an only son, and they shall be bitter over Him, like the bitterness over the first-born.

⁴ And His feet shall stand in that day on the Mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east; and the Mount of Olives shall divide from its middle, from the east even to the west, a very great valley. And half of the mountain shall move toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

² But to you who fear My name, the Sun of Righteousness shall rise up, and healing will be on His wings. And you shall go out and frisk like calves of the stall. ³ And you shall tread under the wicked, for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day which I am preparing, says Jehovah of hosts. ⁴ Remember the law of My servant Moses which I commanded him in Horeb for all Israel, the statutes and judgments. ⁵ Behold, I am sending you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of Jehovah. ⁶ And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the sons, and the heart of the sons to their fathers, that I not come and strike the earth with utter destruction. ⁵⁴ How then should the Scriptures be fulfilled, that it must happen this way?

⁵⁶ But all this is happening that the Scriptures of the prophets may be fulfilled. Then all the disciples ran away, forsaking Him.

³¹ And He began to teach them that it is necessary for the Son of man to suffer many things and to be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and to be killed, and after three days to rise again. ³² And He spoke the word openly. And taking Him aside, Peter began to rebuke Him.

³¹ For He taught His disciples, and said to them, The Son of man is betrayed into the hands of men, and they will kill Him. And being killed, He will rise up the third day.

³¹ And taking the Twelve, He said to them, Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and all things will be fulfilled which have been written through the prophets to the Son of man. ³² For He will be delivered up to the nations, and will be mocked, and will be insulted, and will be spat upon. ³³ And flogging Him, they will kill Him. And on the third day He will rise again. ³⁴ And they did not understand these things, nothing! And this saying had been hidden from them, and they did not know the things being said.

²² For these are days of vengeance when all things that have been written are to be fulfilled.

³⁷ For I say to you that this that has been written must yet be fulfilled in Me: "And He was numbered with the lawless." Isa. 53:12 For the things concerning Me also have an end.

⁶ He is not here, but was raised. Remember how He spoke to you, yet being in Galilee, ⁷ saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and to be crucified, and the third day to rise again.

²⁶ Was it not necessary for the Christ to suffer these things, and to enter into His glory? ²⁷ And beginning from Moses, and from all the prophets, He explained to them the things about Himself in all the Scriptures.

¹⁴ And even as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of man be lifted up,

⁴⁶ For if you were believing Moses, you would then believe Me; for that one wrote concerning Me.

⁴ But I have spoken these things to you so that when the hour comes you may recall them, that I told you these things. But I did not say these things to you from the beginning because I was with you. ⁵ But now I am going to Him who sent Me. And not one of you asks Me, Where are you going?

¹⁶ A little while and you do not see Me. And again a little while, and you will see Me, because I go away to the Father. ¹⁷ Then His disciples said to one another, What is this which He says to us, A little while, and you do not see me; and again, A little and you will see Me? And, Because I go away to the Father?

¹¹ And no longer I am in the world, yet these are in the world; and I come to You. Holy Father, keep them in Your name, those whom You gave to Me, that they may be one as We are . ¹² While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your name; I guarded those whom You gave to Me, and not one of them was lost, except the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled. ¹³ And now I come to You, and I speak these things in the world, that they may have My joy fulfilled in them.

²⁴ Then they said to one another, Let us not tear it, but let us cast lots about it, whose it will be (that the Scripture might be fulfilled which said, "They divided My garments among them," and "they threw a lot for My garment." Then indeed the soldiers did these things. LXX-Psa. 21:19; MT-Psa. 22:18) ²⁵ And His mother, and His mother's sister Mary, the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene stood by the cross of Jesus. ²⁶ Then seeing His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing by, Jesus said to His mother, Woman, behold your son! ²⁷ Then He said to the disciple, Behold, your mother! And from that hour, the disciple took her into his own home . ²⁸ After this, knowing that all things have now been finished that the Scripture be completed, Jesus said, I thirst. ²⁹ Then a vessel full of vinegar was set, and having filled a sponge with vinegar, and putting hyssop around, they brought it to His mouth. Psa. 69:21 ³⁰ Then when Jesus took the vinegar, He said, It has been finished. And bowing His head, He delivered up the spirit. ³¹ Then, since it was Preparation, that the bodies not remain on the cross on the sabbath, for great was the day of that sabbath, the Jews asked Pilate that their legs might be broken and they be taken away. ³² Then the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first, and of the other crucified with Him. ³³ But on coming to Jesus, when they saw He was dead already, they did not break His legs. ³⁴ But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a lance, and at once blood and water came out. ³⁵ And the one seeing has borne witness and his witness is true; and that one knows that he speaks truly, that you may believe. ³⁶ For these things happened that the Scripture might be fulfilled, "Not a bone of Him shall be broken." Ex. 12:46; Psa. 34:20 ³⁷ And again, a different Scripture says, "They shall look at Him whom they have pierced." Zech. 12:10

¹⁸ But what things God before announced through the mouth of all His prophets, that the Christ should suffer, He fulfilled in this manner.

²² For Moses indeed said to the fathers, " The Lord your God will raise up to you a Prophet from among your brothers, One like me; you shall hear Him according to all things," whatever He may speak to you. See Deut. 18:15-16, 19 ²³ And it shall be that of every soul, whoever should not hear that Prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among the people. ²⁴ And also all the prophets, from Samuel and those following after, as many as spoke, also before announced these days.

²⁹ And when they finished all the things having been written concerning Him, taking Him down from the tree, they laid Him in a tomb. ³⁰ But God raised Him from the dead; ³¹ who appeared for many days to those coming up with Him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are witnesses of Him to the people.

³³ that this God has fulfilled to us, their children, raising up Jesus; as also it has been written in the second Psalm, "You are My Son, today I have begotten You." Psa. 2:7

⁵ And "Moses" truly " was faithful in all his house" as a ministering servant, for a testimony of the things having been spoken; Num. 12:7

¹ For this "Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the most high God," the one meeting Abraham "returning from the slaughter" "of the kings," "and blessing him;"

⁸ the Holy Spirit signifying by this that the way of the Holies has not yet been made manifest, the first tabernacle still having standing;

¹ For the Law had a shadow of the coming good things, not the image itself of those things. Appearing year by year with the same sacrifices, which they offer continually, they never are able to perfect the ones drawing near.

¹¹ And Jehovah said to him, Who has made man's mouth? Or who makes the dumb, or the deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? is it not I, Jehovah?

¹⁶ then He opens the ear of men and seals their instruction,

¹⁸ Open my eyes and I will see wonderful things from Your law.

¹⁰ for Jehovah has poured out on you the spirit of deep sleep, and has closed your eyes. He has covered the prophets and your heads, the seers. ¹¹ And the whole vision to you is like the words of a sealed hook which they give to one knowing books, saying, Please read this. Then he says, I am not able, for it is sealed. ¹² And the hook is given to one who does not know books, saying, Please read this. Then he says, I do not know books.

¹⁸ And in that day the deaf shall hear the words of a book; and the eyes of the blind shall see out of their gloom and out of darkness. ¹⁹ And the humble ones shall increase joy in Jehovah, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.

³² And they said to one another, Was not our heart burning in us as He spoke to us in the highway, and as He opened up to us the Scriptures?

¹⁸ to open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the authority of Satan to God, in order that they may receive remission of sins, and an inheritance among those being sanctified by faith in Me.

¹⁴ But their thoughts were hardened, for until the present the same veil remains on the reading of the Old Covenant, not being unveiled, that it is being done away in Christ. ¹⁵ But until today, when Moses is being read, a veil lies on their heart. ¹⁶ But whenever it turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Ex. 34:34 ¹⁷ And the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. ¹⁸ But we all with our face having been unveiled, having beheld the glory of the Lord in a mirror, are being changed into the same image from glory to glory, as from the Lord Spirit.

⁴ in whom the god of this age has blinded the thoughts of the unbelieving, so that the brightness of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not dawn on them. ⁵ For we do not proclaim ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves your slaves for the sake of Jesus. ⁶ Because it is God who said, "Out of darkness Light shall shine," who shone in our hearts to give the brightness of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. Isa. 42:6, 7, 16

¹⁴ Because of this, He says, Arise, sleeping ones and stand up out of the dead ones, and Christ will shine on you. No OT passage

²⁰ And we know that the Son of God has come, and He has given to us an understanding that we may know the true One, and we are in the true One, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and the life everlasting.

⁷ And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia, write: These things says the Holy One, the True One, the One having "the key of David," "the One opening, and no one shuts; and shuts, and no one opens:" Isa. 22:22

¹² and there is salvation in no other One, for neither is there any other name under Heaven having been given among men by which we must be saved.

²⁷ All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn back to Jehovah; and all the families of the nations shall worship before You.

² That Your way may be known on earth, Your salvation among all nations. ³ Let the peoples thank You, O God; let all the peoples thank You. ⁴ Oh let the peoples be glad and sing for joy; for You shall judge the peoples uprightly and govern the peoples on earth. Selah.

⁷ God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear Him.

⁹ All nations whom You have made shall come and worship before You; yea, Lord, they shall glorify Your name.

¹ A Psalm. O sing to Jehovah a new song, for He has done wondrous things; His right hand and His holy arm has saved Him. ² Jehovah has revealed His salvation; He unveiled His righteousness to the eyes of the nations. ³ He has remembered His mercy and His faithfulness to the house of Israel; all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

¹ Praise Jehovah, all nations; praise Him, all peoples; ² for His mercy is mighty over us, and the truth of Jehovah is forever. Praise Jehovah!

¹ The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem: ² And it shall be in the last days, the mountain of the house of Jehovah shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow into it. ³ And many people shall go and say, Come and let us go up to the mount of Jehovah, to the house of the God of Jacob. And He will teach from His ways, and we will walk in His paths. For out of Zion the law will go forth, and the word of Jehovah from Jerusalem.

⁴ What more could have been done to My vineyard that I have not done in it? Who knows? I waited for it to yield grapes, but it yielded rotten grapes.

¹⁰ And it shall be in that day, the Root of Jesse stands as a banner of peoples; nations shall seek to Him; and His resting place shall be glory.

⁶ And He said, It is too little that You should be My servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved ones of Israel; I will also give You for a light of the nations, that You may be My salvation to the end of the earth.

²² So says the Lord Jehovah, Behold, I will lift up My hand to the nations, and will set up My banner to peoples. And they shall bring your sons in the bosom, and your daughters shall be carried on the shoulder.

¹⁰ Jehovah has bared His holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.

¹⁵ so He sprinkles from many nations. At Him kings shall shut their mouths; for they will see that which was not told to them; yea, what they had not heard, they will understand.

¹ Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of Jehovah has risen on you! ² For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the peoples. But Jehovah shall rise on you, and His glory shall be seen on you. ³ And nations shall walk to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawning.

¹⁸ For I know their works and their thoughts; it comes to gather all the nations and the tongues; and they shall come and see My glory. ¹⁹ And I will set a sign among them, and I will send those who escape from them to the nations of Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, drawers of the bow; to Tubal and Javan, to the far away coasts that have not heard My fame nor seen My glory. And they shall declare My glory among the nations. ²⁰ And they shall bring all your brothers out of all nations, an offering to Jehovah, on horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and on mules, and on camels, to My holy mountain Jerusalem, says Jehovah; as the sons of Israel bring the offering in a clean vessel to the house of Jehovah. ²¹ And I will also take some of them for the priests, for the Levites, says Jehovah.

³⁴ And they shall no longer each man teach his neighbor, and each man his brother, saying, Know Jehovah. For they shall all know Me, from the least of them even to the greatest of them, declares Jehovah. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sins no more.

² And many nations shall come and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of Jehovah, and to the house of the God of Jacob. And He will teach us from His ways, and we will walk in His paths. For the law shall go forth out of Zion, and the word of Jehovah from Jerusalem.

¹¹ For from the east to the west, My name shall be great among the nations, and everywhere incense shall be offered to My name; and a pure food offering; for My name shall be great among the nations, says Jehovah of hosts.

² and saying, Repent! For the kingdom of Heaven has drawn near.

¹⁰ And hearing, Jesus marveled, and said to those following, Truly I say to you, Not even in Israel did I find such faith. ¹¹ But I say to you that many will come from east and west, and will recline with Abraham and Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of Heaven,

¹³ But going, learn what this is, "I desire mercy and not sacrifice." For I did not come to call righteous ones, but sinners to repentance. Hos. 6:6

⁵ Jesus sent these twelve out, charging them, saying: Do not go into the way of the nations, and do not go into a Samaritan city. ⁶ But rather go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

¹⁹ Going, then, disciple all nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

³⁴ Jerusalem! Jerusalem! The one killing the prophets, and stoning those having been sent to her, how often I desired to gather your children in the way a hen gathers her brood under the wings, and you did not desire it .

³⁸ And Peter said to them, Repent and be baptized, each of you on the name of Jesus Christ to remission of sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

¹⁹ Therefore, repent, and convert, for the blotting out of your sins, so that times of refreshing may come from the face of the Lord,

²⁵ You are sons of the prophets and of the covenant which God appointed to our fathers, saying to Abraham, "Even in your Seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed." Gen. 22:18 ²⁶ Having raised up His child Jesus, God sent Him first to you, blessing you in turning away each one from your iniquities.

³¹ This One God has exalted as a Ruler and Savior to His right hand, to give to Israel repentance and remission of sins.

⁴⁶ For they heard them speaking in languages and magnifying God. Then Peter answered, ⁴⁷ Can anyone forbid the water that these not be baptized, who the Holy Spirit received, even as we also? ⁴⁸ And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then they asked him to remain some days.

¹⁸ And hearing these things, they kept silent and glorified God, saying, Then God also has granted to the nations repentance unto life.

³⁸ Then let it be known to you, men, brothers, that through this One remission of sin is announced to you. ³⁹ And everyone believing in this One is justified from all things which you could not be justified by the Law of Moses.

⁴⁶ But speaking boldly, Paul and Barnabas said, It was necessary for the Word of God to be spoken first to you; but since you indeed thrust it away and judge yourselves not worthy of eternal life, behold, we turn to the nations.

³⁰ Truly, then, God overlooking the times of ignorance, now strictly commands all men everywhere to repent, ³¹ because He set a day in which "He is going to judge the habitable world in righteousness," by a Man whom He appointed; having given proof to all by raising Him from the dead. Psa. 9:8

⁵ And when both Silas and Timothy came down from Macedonia, Paul was pressed by the Spirit, earnestly testifying to the Jews that Jesus is the Christ. ⁶ But they having resisted, and blaspheming, having shaken his garments, he said to them, Your blood be on your head. I am pure from it; from now on I will go to the nations.

²¹ earnestly testifying both to Jews and to Greeks repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

²⁰ but to those first in Damascus, and Jerusalem, and to all the country of Judea, and to the nations, I announced the command to repent and to turn to God, doing works worthy of repentance.

²⁸ Then let it be known to you that the salvation of God was sent to the nations, and they will hear. LXX-Psa. 66:3; MT-Psa. 67:2

²⁰ But Law came in beside, that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace much more abounded,

¹² For there is no difference both of Jew and of Greek, for the same Lord of all is rich toward all the ones calling on Him. ¹³ For everyone, "whoever may call on the name of the Lord will be saved." Joel 3:5 ¹⁴ How then may they call on One in whom they have not believed? And how may they believe One of whom they have not heard? And how may they hear without preaching? ¹⁵ And how may they preach if they are not sent? Even as it has been written, "How beautiful" "the feet of those announcing the gospel of peace, of those announcing the gospel of good things." Isa. 52:7 ¹⁶ But not all obeyed the gospel, for Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed our report?" Isa. 53:1 ¹⁷ Then faith is of hearing, and hearing through the Word of God. ¹⁸ But I say, Did they not hear? Yes, rather, "into all the earth their voice went out, and to the ends of the world their words." LXX-Psa. 18:5; MT-Psa. 19:4

²⁶ and so all Israel will be saved, even as it has been written, "The Deliverer will come out of Zion, and He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob. ²⁷ And this is My covenant with them, when I take away their sins." Isa. 59:20, 21

⁸ And I say, Jesus Christ has become a minister of circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises of the fathers, ⁹ and for the nations to glorify God for mercy, even as it has been written, "Because of this I will confess to You in the nations, and I will give praise to Your name." Psa. 18:49 ¹⁰ And again He says, "Rejoice, nations, with His people." Deut. 32:43 ¹¹ And again, "Praise the Lord, all the nations, and praise Him all the peoples." Psa. 117:1 ¹² And again Isaiah says, "The Root of Jesse shall be, and He rising up to rule the nations; on Him nations will hope." Isa. 11:10 ¹³ And may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, for you to abound in hope, in power of the Holy Spirit. ¹⁴ But, my brothers, I myself also am persuaded concerning you, that you yourselves also are full of goodness, being filled with all knowledge, being able to warn one another. ¹⁵ But I wrote to you more boldly, brothers, as reminding you in part, because of the grace given to me by God, ¹⁶ for me to be a minister of Jesus Christ to the nations, sacredly ministering the gospel of God, that the offering of the nations might be acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.

⁶ to the praise of the glory of His grace in which He favored us in the One having been loved,

⁸ This grace was given to me, less than the least of all the saints, to proclaim the gospel of the unsearchable riches of Christ among the nations,

²⁷ to whom God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the nations, who is Christ in you, the hope of glory;

¹² Little children, I write to you because you have been forgiven your sins through His name.

²⁷ And you also witness, because from the beginning you are with Me.

⁸ but you will receive power, the Holy Spirit coming upon you, and you will be witnesses of Me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.

²² beginning from the baptism of John until the day when He was taken from us, one of these to become a witness of His resurrection with us.

³² This Jesus God raised up, of which we all are witnesses.

¹⁵ And the Author of Life you killed, whom God raised up from the dead, of which we are witnesses.

³³ And with great power the apostles gave testimony of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all.

³² And we are His witnesses of these things, and also the Holy Spirit, whom God gave to those obeying Him.

³⁹ And we are witnesses of all things which He did, both in the country of the Jews, and in Jerusalem. They did away with Him, hanging Him on a tree.

³¹ who appeared for many days to those coming up with Him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are witnesses of Him to the people.

¹⁵ for you shall be a witness for Him to all men of what you have seen and heard.

³ how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation? Which having received a beginning to be spoken through the Lord, was confirmed to us by the ones hearing, ⁴ God bearing witness with them by both miracles and wonders, and by various works of power, even by distribution of the Holy Spirit, according to His will.

¹ I, a fellow elder, exhort the elders among you, I being also witness of the sufferings of Christ, and being sharer of the glory about to be revealed:

² And the Life was revealed, and we have seen, and we bear witness, and we announce to you the everlasting Life which was with the Father, and was revealed to us. ³ We announce to you what we have seen, and what we have heard, that you also may have fellowship with us. And truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son, Jesus Christ.

¹⁵ until is poured out on us the Spirit from on high, and the wilderness becomes a fruitful field; and the fruitful field is reckoned as a forest.

³ For I will pour water on a thirsty place, and floods on the dry ground. I will pour My Spirit on your seed, and My blessing on your offspring. ⁴ And they shall sprout as among grass, as willows by streams of water.

²⁰ And the Redeemer comes to Zion, and to those in Jacob who turn from transgression, declares Jehovah. ²¹ As for Me, this is My covenant with them, says Jehovah: My Spirit who is on you, and My words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart out of your mouth, or out of the mouth of your seed, or out of the mouth of your seed's seed, from now on and forever, says Jehovah.

¹⁶ And I will petition the Father, and He will give you another Comforter, that He may remain with you forever, ¹⁷ the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive because it does not see Him nor know Him. But you know Him, for He abides with you and shall be in you.

²⁶ And when the Comforter comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, that One will witness concerning Me.

⁷ But I tell you the truth, it is advantageous for you that I should go; for if I do not go away, the Comforter will not come to you. But if I go, I will send Him to you. ⁸ And when that One comes, He will convict the world concerning sin, and concerning righteousness, and concerning judgment. ⁹ Concerning sin, because they do not believe into Me; ¹⁰ and concerning righteousness, because I am going to the Father, and you no longer see Me; ¹¹ and concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged. ¹² I have yet many things to tell you, but you are not able to bear now. ¹³ But when that One comes, the Spirit of truth, He will guide you into all truth, for He will not speak from Himself, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will announce the coming things to you. ¹⁴ That One will glorify Me, for He will receive from Mine and will announce to you. ¹⁵ All things which the Father has are Mine. For this reason I said that He receives from Mine, and will announce to you. ¹⁶ A little while and you do not see Me. And again a little while, and you will see Me, because I go away to the Father.

⁴ And having met with them, He charged them not to leave Jerusalem, but to await the promise of the Father, "which you heard of Me;

¹ And in the fulfilling of the day of Pentecost, they were all with one mind in the same place. ² And suddenly a sound came out of the heaven, as being borne along by a violent wind! And it filled all the house where they were sitting. ³ And tongues as of fire appeared to them, being distributed, and it sat on each one of them. ⁴ And they were all filled of the Holy Spirit, and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit gave ability to them to speak. ⁵ And Jews were living in Jerusalem, devout men from every nation of those under the heaven. ⁶ But this sound occurring, the multitude came together and were confounded, because they each heard them speaking in his own dialect. ⁷ And all were amazed and marveled, saying to one another, Behold, are not all these, those speaking, Galileans? ⁸ And how do we hear each in our own dialect in which we were born, ⁹ Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and those living in Mesopotamia, both Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, ¹⁰ both Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt, and the regions of Libya over against Cyrene, and the temporarily residing Romans, both Jews and proselytes, ¹¹ Cretans and Arabians; in our own languages we hear them speaking the great deeds of God? ¹² And all were amazed and puzzled, saying to one another, What would this wish to be? ¹³ But ridiculing, others said, They are full of sweet wine. ¹⁴ But standing up with the Eleven, Peter lifted up his voice and spoke out to them, Men, Jews, and all those living in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and listen to my words: ¹⁵ For these are not drunk, as you imagine, for it is the third hour of the day. ¹⁶ But this is that which has been spoken by the prophet Joel, ¹⁷ "And it shall be" in the last days, God says, "I will pour from My Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy;" "and your young men shall see visions," "and your old men shall dream dreams;" ¹⁸ "and also I will pour out My Spirit on My slaves and slave women in those days," and they shall prophesy. ¹⁹ "And I will give wonders in the heaven above," and miracles "on the earth below, blood and fire and vapor of smoke. ²⁰ The sun will be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the" "coming of the great and glorious" "day of the Lord." ²¹ "And it shall be that everyone who shall call on the name of the Lord will be saved." Joel 3:15

¹⁸ And Melchizedek, king of Salem, brought out bread and wine; and he was the priest of the most high God. ¹⁹ And he blessed him and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of Heaven and earth; ²⁰ and blessed be the most high God, who has delivered your enemies into your hand. And he gave him a tithe of all.

⁴ And make for me delicious things, such as I love, and bring to me, and I will eat; so that my soul may bless you before I die.

⁹ And Joseph said to his father, They are my sons, whom God has given to me here. And he said, Now bring them to me and I will bless them.

²⁸ All these were the tribes of Israel, two and ten. And this is what their father spoke to them. And he blessed them, each one with what was according to his blessing, he blessed them.

²³ Speak to Aaron and to his sons, saying, In this way you shall bless the sons of Israel, saying to them: ²⁴ Jehovah bless you and keep you; ²⁵ Jehovah cause His face to shine on you, and be gracious to you; ²⁶ Jehovah lift up His face to you, and give you peace. ²⁷ So they shall put My name on the sons of Israel, and I Myself will bless them.

¹⁷ And leaving them, He went out of the city to Bethany, and spent the night there.

¹⁶ And having taken them in His arms, laying hands on them, He blessed them.

¹ And when they drew near to Jerusalem, to Bethphage and Bethany, toward the Mount of Olives, He sent two of His disciples,

¹² Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount being called Of Olive Grove, which is near Jerusalem, a sabbath's journey away.

⁵ and indeed those of the sons of Levi receiving the priesthood have a command to tithe the people according to Law, (that is, from their brothers, though coming forth out of Abraham's loins), ⁶ but he not counting his genealogy from them has tithed Abraham, and has blessed the one having the promises. ⁷ But without contradiction, the lesser is blessed by the better.

¹¹ And it happened, as they were going on and speaking, behold, a chariot of fire and horses of fire came . And they separated between them both, and Elijah went up in a tempest to Heaven.

¹⁹ Then indeed, after speaking to them, the Lord was taken up into Heaven, and sat off the right of God. Psa. 110:1

¹⁷ Jesus said to her, Do not touch Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father. But go to My brothers and say to them, I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and My God, and your God.

⁹ And saying these things, as they looked on, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him from their eyes.

⁸ Because of this, He says, "Having gone up on high, He led captivity captive," and gave "gifts to men." Psa. 68:18 ⁹ But that He went up, what is it except that He also first came down into the lower parts of the earth? ¹⁰ He that came down is the same who also went up above all the heavens, that He might fill all things.

³ who being the shining splendor of His glory, and the express image of His essence, and upholding all things by the word of His power, having made purification of our sins through Himself, He sat down on the right of the Majesty on high, Psa. 110:1

¹⁴ Then having a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast the confession.

¹¹ You have turned my mourning into dancing for me; You have loosed my sackcloth and have clothed me with gladness.

⁹ But as they were going to report to His disciples, behold, Jesus also met them, saying, Hail! And coming near, they seized His feet and worshiped Him.

¹⁷ And seeing Him, they worshiped Him. But they doubted.

²⁸ You heard that I said to you, I am going away, and I am coming again to you. If you loved Me, you would have rejoiced that I said, I am going to the Father; for My Father is greater than I.

⁷ But I tell you the truth, it is advantageous for you that I should go; for if I do not go away, the Comforter will not come to you. But if I go, I will send Him to you.

²⁸ And Thomas answered and said to Him, My Lord and my God!

⁸ whom having not seen, you love; in whom not yet seeing, but believing, you exult with unspeakable and having been glorified,

²⁰ teaching them to observe all things, whatever I commanded you. And, behold, I am with you all the days until the completion of the age. Amen.

²⁰ And going out, they preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word by the signs following. Amen.

⁴⁶ And continuing steadfastly with one mind day by day in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they shared food in gladness and simplicity of heart, ⁴⁷ praising God, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church those being saved from day to day.

⁴¹ Then they indeed departed from the presence of the sanhedrin, rejoicing that they were deemed worthy to be dishonored on behalf of His name. ⁴² And every day they did not cease teaching and preaching the gospel of Jesus the Christ in the temple, and house to house.

²¹ The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with all of you. Amen.
