⁵ But I intend to remind you, you once knowing these things, that the Lord having saved a people out of the land of Egypt, in the second place destroyed the ones not believing.

²² for all the men who are seeing My glory, and My miracles which I have done in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have tried Me these ten times, and have not listened to My voice, ²³ they shall not see the land which I have sworn to their fathers. Yea, not one of those scorning Me shall see it. ²⁴ And My servant Caleb, because there is another spirit in him, and he is fully following Me, I shall bring him into the land into which he has gone, and his seed shall possess it. ²⁵ And the Amalekite and the Canaanite were living in the valley. Tomorrow turn and pull up stakes for yourselves; going into the wilderness, the way of the Sea of Reeds. ²⁶ And Jehovah spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying, ²⁷ Until when shall I bear with this evil company who are murmuring against Me? I have heard the murmurings of the sons of Israel which they are murmuring against Me. ²⁸ Say to them, As I live, says Jehovah, as surely as you have spoken in My ears, so I will do to you. ²⁹ Your dead bodies shall fall in this wilderness, even all your numbered ones, as to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward, in that you have murmured against Me. ³⁰ You shall certainly not come into the land which I lifted up My hand to cause you to live in it, except Caleb the son of Jephunneh and Joshua the son of Nun. ³¹ As for your infants, of whom you have said, They shall be a prey, I shall bring them in, and they shall know the land which you have rejected. ³² As for you, your carcases shall fall in this wilderness. ³³ And your sons shall be shepherds in the wilderness forty years, and shall bear your fornications until your carcases are wasted in the wilderness; ³⁴ by the number of the days in which you spied out the land, forty days, a day for a year, a day for a year; you shall bear your iniquities forty years; you shall know My alienation from you . ³⁵ I am Jehovah; I shall spoken. I shall do this to all this evil company who are gathered together against Me. They shall be brought to an end in this wilderness, and there they shall die. ³⁶ And the men whom Moses had sent to spy out the land, and who, when they returned, made all the congregation to murmur against him, by bringing up an evil report against the land, ³⁷ even those men bringing up an evil report of the land died by the plague before Jehovah.

⁶⁴ And among these there was not a man of those numbered by Moses and Aaron the priest, who numbered the sons of Israel in the wilderness of Sinai. ⁶⁵ For Jehovah had said to them, They shall surely die in the wilderness; and not a man of them should be left except Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.

¹⁵ And the hand of Jehovah was also against them, to destroy them from the midst of the camp, until they were consumed. ¹⁶ And it happened, when all the men of war had finished dying from among the people,

²⁶ and He lifted up His hand to them, to make them fall in the wilderness;

¹⁵ But I wrote to you more boldly, brothers, as reminding you in part, because of the grace given to me by God,

¹ And I do not want you to be ignorant, brothers, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the Sea. ² And all were baptized to Moses in the cloud, and in the Sea, ³ and all ate the same spiritual food. ⁴ And all drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank of the spiritual rock following, and that Rock was Christ. ⁵ Yet God was not pleased with most of them, "for they were scattered in the deserted place." Num. 14:16 ⁶ But these things became examples for us, so that we may not be lusters after evil, even as those indeed lusted. ⁷ Neither be idolaters, even as some of them, as it has been written, "The people sat down to eat and drink, and stood up to play." Ex. 32:6 ⁸ Nor should we commit fornication, as some of them fornicated, and twenty three thousand fell in one day. ⁹ Neither over-tempt Christ, as some of them tempted, and perished by serpents. ¹⁰ Neither should you murmur, as also some of them murmured, and perished by the destroyer. ¹¹ And all these things happened to those as examples, and it was written for our warning, on whom the ends of the ages have come. ¹² So that he that thinks to stand, let him be careful that he not fall.

¹⁶ For hearing, some provoked Him, but not all those coming out of Egypt through Moses.

¹² For this reason I will not neglect to cause you to remember always concerning these things, though you know and have been confirmed in the present truth. ¹³ But I deem it right, so long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by a reminder,

¹ Beloved, I now write to you this second epistle, in which by reminder I stir up your sincere mind to remember
