¹ And it happened after the death of Moses the servant of Jehovah, Jehovah spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' minister, saying,

⁹ And Moses said to Joshua, Choose men for us, and go fight against Amalek. Tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill, and the staff of God in my hand. ¹⁰ And Joshua did as Moses had said to him, to fight against Amalek And Moses, Aaron and Hur went up to the top of the hill. ¹¹ And so it was that when Moses lifted his hand, Israel prevailed. And when he rested his hand, Amalek conquered. ¹² And the hands of Moses became heavy. And they took a stone and put it under him. And he sat on it. And Aaron and Hur held up his hands, one from this and one from that side . And his hands were steady until the going of the sun. ¹³ And Joshua defeated Amalek and his people by the mouth of the sword.

¹³ And Moses rose up, and Joshua his attendant. And Moses went up to the mountain of God.

²⁸ And Joshua the son of Nun, minister to Moses, of his young men, answered and said, My lord Moses, stop them.

⁷ It is not so with My servant Moses! He is faithful in all My house.

⁸ of the tribe of Ephraim, Joshua the son of Nun;

¹⁶ These were the names of the men whom Moses sent to spy out the land. And Moses called Oshea the son of Nun, Joshua.

³⁸ Joshua the son of Nun, who stands before you, he shall go in there; you shall strengthen him; for he shall cause Israel to inherit.

³ Jehovah your God will cross over before you; He shall destroy these nations from before you, and you shall possess them. Joshua is the one who shall cross over before you, as Jehovah has spoken.

²³ And He commanded Joshua the son of Nun, and said, Be strong and brave. For you shall bring the sons of Israel into the land which I have sworn to them, and I shall be with you.

¹ And this is the blessing with which Moses the man of God blessed the sons of Israel before his death.

⁵ And Moses the servant of Jehovah died there in the land of Moab, according to the command of Jehovah.

⁹ And Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had laid his hands on him. And the sons of Israel listened to him and did as Jehovah commanded Moses.

⁶ Moses the servant of Jehovah and the sons of Israel struck them. And Moses the servant of Jehovah gave it for a possession to the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh.

¹⁶ and you shall anoint Jehu the son of Nimshi as king over Israel; and you shall anoint Elisha the son of Shaphat, of Abel-meholah, as prophet in your place.

¹¹ And Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of Jehovah, that we may inquire of Jehovah by him? And one of the servants of the king of Israel answered and said, Here is Elisha the son of Shaphat, who poured water on the hands of Elijah.

²⁷ And she came to the mountain to the man of God, and lay hold on his feet. And Gehazi came near to thrust her away. But the man of God said, Let her alone, for her soul is bitter in her, and Jehovah has hidden it from me, and has not told me. ²⁸ And she said, Did I ask a son from my lord? Did I not say, Do not deceive me? ²⁹ And he said to Gehazi, Gird up your loins and take my staff in your hand, and go. When you meet a man, you shall not greet him. And when a man shall greet you, you shall not answer him. And you shall lay my staff on the face of the boy.

²⁵ And he went in and stood by his lord. And Elisha said to him, Where from Gehazi? And he said, Your servant did not go here or there. ²⁶ And he said to him. Did not my heart go out when the man turned from his chariot to meet you. Is it a time to take silver, and to take garments and olives, and vineyards, and flock, and herd, and male slaves, and slave-girls? ²⁷ Yea, the leprosy of Naaman shall cling to you, and to your seed forever. And he went out from him as leprous as snow.

²⁶ But it will not be so among you. But whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. ²⁷ And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your servant;

¹⁰ He faithful in the least is also faithful in much. And he unrighteous in the least is also unrighteous in much.

⁴⁵ which also was brought in, our fathers having inherited with Joshua, in the taking of possession of the nations, whom God drove out from the face of our fathers, until the days of David,

³⁶ For having served his own generation by the counsel of God, David truly fell asleep and was added to his fathers and saw corruption. 1 Kg. 2:10 ³⁷ But He whom God raised up, this One did not see corruption.
