¹³ who were born not of bloods, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but were born of God.

²² And the sons struggled together within her. And she said, If this is right, why am I this way? And she went to ask Jehovah.

²⁸ And Isaac loved Esau, for game was in his mouth. And Rebekah loved Jacob.

⁴ And make for me delicious things, such as I love, and bring to me, and I will eat; so that my soul may bless you before I die.

³³ And Isaac was terrified with a very great anxiety. And he said, Who then was the one who hunted game and came to me; and I ate from it all before you came; and I blessed him? Yea, he shall be blessed.

³ Your people shall be willing in the day of Your power; in holy adornment from the womb of the dawn, to You is the dew of Your youth.

⁹ And do not think to say within yourselves, We have a father, Abraham. For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones.

³ Jesus answered and said to him, Truly, truly, I say to you, if one does not receive birth from above, he is not able to see the kingdom of God.

⁵ Jesus answered, Truly, truly, I say to you, if one does not receive birth out of water and Spirit, he is not able to enter into the kingdom of God. ⁶ That receiving birth from the flesh is flesh, and that receiving birth from the Spirit is spirit. ⁷ Do not wonder because I told you, You must receive birth from above. ⁸ The Spirit breathes where He desires, and you hear His voice; but you do not know from where He comes, and where He goes; so is everyone who has received birth from the Spirit.

³³ They answered Him, We are Abraham's seed, and we have been in slavery to no one, never! How do you say, You will become free? ³⁴ Jesus answered them, Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone practicing sin is a slave of sin. ³⁵ But the slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. ³⁶ Therefore, if the Son sets you free, you are free indeed. ³⁷ I know that you are Abraham's seed, but you seek to kill Me, because My Word has no place in you. ³⁸ I speak what I have seen with My Father. And you therefore do what you have seen with your father. ³⁹ They answered and said to Him, Abraham is our father. Jesus said to them, If you were children of Abraham, you would do the works of Abraham. ⁴⁰ But now you seek to kill Me, a man who has spoken the truth to you, which I heard alongside of God. Abraham did not do this. ⁴¹ You do the works of your father. They said to Him, We were not born of fornication; we have one father, God.

¹ I tell the truth in Christ, I do not lie, my conscience bearing witness with me in the Holy Spirit, ² that my grief is great, and a never ceasing pain is in my heart, ³ for I myself was wishing to be a curse from Christ on behalf of my brothers, my kinsmen according to flesh, ⁴ who are Israelites, whose are the adoption and the glory, and the covenants, and the Lawgiving, and the service, and the promises; ⁵ whose are the fathers, and from whom is the Christ according to flesh, He being God over all, blessed forever. Amen.

⁷ nor because they are Abraham's seed are all children, but "In Isaac a Seed shall be called to you." Gen. 21:12 ⁸ That is: Not the children of flesh are children of God, but the children of the promise are counted for a seed. ⁹ For the word of promise is this, According to this time I will come, and a son will be to Sarah. Gen. 18:10 ¹⁰ And not only so, but also Rebekah conceiving of one, our father Isaac, ¹¹ for the children not yet being born, nor having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of the One calling, ¹² it was said to her, "The greater shall serve the lesser;" Gen. 25:23 ¹³ even as it has been written, "I loved Jacob, and I hated Esau." Mal. 1:2, 3 ¹⁴ What then shall we say? Is there not unrighteousness with God? Let it not be! ¹⁵ For He said to Moses, "I will have mercy on whomever I will have mercy, and I will pity whomever I will pity." Ex. 33:19 ¹⁶ So, then, it is not of the one willing, nor of the one running, but of the One showing mercy, of God.

¹ Brothers, truly my heart's pleasure and supplication to God on behalf of Israel is for it to be saved. ² For I testify to them that they have zeal to God, but not according to knowledge. ³ For being ignorant of the righteousness of God, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, they did not submit to the righteousness of God.

⁶ I planted, Apollos watered, but God made to grow.

¹³ for it is God who is working in you both to will and to work for the sake of His good pleasure.

⁵ not by works in righteousness which we had done, but according to His mercy, He saved us through the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit,

¹⁸ Having purposed, He brought us forth by the word of truth, for us to be a certain firstfruit of His creatures.

³ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, He according to His great mercy having regenerated us to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

²³ having been born again, not by corruptible seed, but incorruptible, through the living word of God, and remaining forever.

² as newborn babes desire the pure soul-nourishing milk, that you may grow by it;

²⁸ And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He is revealed we may have confidence, and not be shamed from Him in His coming. ²⁹ If you know that He is righteous, know that everyone doing righteousness has been born of Him.

⁹ Everyone who has been begotten of God does not sin, because His seed abides in him, and he is not able to sin, because he has been born of God.

⁷ Beloved, let us love one another, because love is of God, and everyone who loves has been born of God, and knows God.

¹ Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God. And everyone who loves Him who begets also loves the one who has been born of Him.

⁴ Because everything having been born of God overcomes the world, and this is the victory overcoming the world, our faith.

¹⁸ We know that everyone having been born of God does not sin, but the one born of God keeps himself, and the evil does not touch him.
