¹ After this Job opened his mouth and cursed his day.

¹¹ But put out Your hand now, and touch against all that is his, and see if he will not then curse You to Your face.

²² In all this Job did not sin, nor charge wrong to God.

⁵ But indeed put out Your hand now and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse You to Your face.

⁹ And his wife said to him, Are you still holding fast to your integrity? Curse God and die! ¹⁰ But he said to her, You speak as one of the foolish ones speak. Also, shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this Job did not sin with his lips.

³ Let the day perish in which I was born, and the night which said, A man-child has been conceived.

¹⁶ even Job vainly opens his mouth; he multiplies words without knowledge.

² I became dumb, keeping still; from good I was silent, and my pain was stirred. ³ My heart was hot within me; while the fire burned I was meditating; I spoke with my tongue:

³³ for they provoked his spirit, and he spoke rashly with his lips.

¹⁴ Cursed is the day in which I was born; let not the day in which my mother bore me be blessed. ¹⁵ Cursed is the man who brought news to my father, saying, A man child is born to you, making him very glad.
