² But not he, nor his servants, nor the people of the land, listened to the words of Jehovah which He spoke by Jeremiah the prophet.

¹³ And he said, O Lord, please send by the hand of him whom You will send.

¹⁹ And he did evil in the eyes of Jehovah according to all that Jehoiakim did. ²⁰ For through the anger of Jehovah it happened in Jerusalem and Judah, until He had cast them out from His face, that Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.

¹² And he did the evil in the eyes of Jehovah his God; he was not humbled before Jeremiah the prophet, from the mouth of Jehovah. ¹³ And also he rebelled against king Nebuchadnezzar, who had made him swear by God; and he stiffened his neck and hardened his heart from turning to Jehovah the God of Israel. ¹⁴ Also, all the heads of the priests, and the people were continually acting treacherously according to all the abominable idols of the nations; and they defiled the house of Jehovah that He had sanctified in Jerusalem. ¹⁵ And Jehovah, the God of their fathers, sent to them by the hand of His messengers, rising early and sending, for He had pity on his people and on His dwelling place. ¹⁶ But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised His words, and scoffed at His prophets until the wrath of Jehovah went up against His people, until there was no healing.

⁶ He that sends a message by a fool's hand cuts off his own feet and drinks violence.

¹² To a ruler who listens to lying words, all his ministers are wicked.

²⁵ And you, O slain, wicked prince of Israel, of whom has come his day in the time of iniquity of the end,

¹⁰ I have also spoken by the prophets, and I have multiplied visions; and by the hand of the prophets use parables.

⁸ Therefore, the one that despises does not despise man, but God, even He giving His Holy Spirit to us.
