²⁷ But concerning the land which they lift up with their soul, to return there, they shall not return there.

²⁷ And it happened in the thirty seventh year of the captivity of Jehoiachin the king of Judah, in the twelfth month, in the twenty seventh of the month, Evil-merodach the king of Babylon, in the year he began to reign, lifted up the head of Jehoiachin the king of Judah out of the prison, ²⁸ and spoke good things with him, and put his throne above the throne of the kings with him in Babylon. ²⁹ And he changed his prison garments, and he ate bread continually before him all the days of his life. ³⁰ And his allowance, a continual allowance, was given to him from the king, a daily rate for every day, all the days of his life.

⁴ Give joy to the soul of Your servant; for to You, O Lord, I lift up my soul.

¹¹ For so says Jehovah concerning Shallum the son of Josiah, king of Judah, who reigned in his father Josiah's place, who went forth from this place. He shall not return there any more.

¹⁴ so that none of the remnant of Judah which has gone into the land of Egypt, to reside there, will be an escaped one, or a survivor; or return to the land of Judah to which they are lifting up their soul, to return to live there. For not one shall return, except those who escape.

³¹ And it happened in the thirty seventh year of the exile of Jehoiachin, king of Judah, in the twelfth month, in the twenty fifth of the month, Evil-merodach, king of Babylon, in the year of his reign lifted up the head of Jehoiachin, king of Judah, and brought him from the prison house. ³² And he spoke good to him and set his throne above the throne of the kings who were with him in Babylon. ³³ And he changed his prison garments, and he ate bread before his face continually all the days of his life. ³⁴ And his allowance in continual allowance was given to him from the king of Babylon, the matter of a day in its day, until the day of his death, all the days of his life.
