¹ The Spirit of the Lord Jehovah is on Me, because Jehovah has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the meek. He has sent Me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to captives, and complete opening to the bound ones;

⁶ Yea, I have set My king on My holy mount on Zion.

²⁶ The meek shall eat and be satisfied; those who seek Jehovah shall praise Him; your heart shall live forever.

⁹ He will guide the meek in justice; and He will teach the meek His way.

¹⁸ Jehovah is near those who are broken-hearted, and saves those who have a contrite spirit.

⁷ You love righteousness and hate wickedness; on account of this God, Your God, has anointed You with the oil of gladness more than Your fellows.

¹⁷ The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise.

³² The humble have seen and are glad; you who seek God, your heart shall live.

²⁰ To hear the groaning of the prisoner, to set free the sons of death;

³ He heals the broken-hearted and binds up their sorrows.

⁴ For Jehovah takes pleasure in His people; He beautifies the meek with salvation.

² And the Spirit of Jehovah shall rest on Him; He will have the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and power, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of Jehovah. ³ And He is made to breathe in the fear of Jehovah. But He shall not judge by the seeing of His eyes, nor decide by the hearing of His ears. ⁴ But He shall judge the poor in righteousness, and shall decide rightly for the meek of the earth. And He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, and He shall slay the wicked with the breath of His lips. ⁵ And righteousness shall be the encircler of His loins, and faithfulness the encircler of His reins.

¹ Behold My Servant; I will uphold Him; My Elect in whom My soul delights! I have put My Spirit on Him; He shall bring forth justice to the nations.

⁷ to open blind eyes, to deliver the prisoner from the prison; those who sit in darkness from the prison.

¹⁶ Come near to me; hear this: I have not spoken in secret from the beginning. From its being, I was there; and now the Lord Jehovah, and His Spirit, has sent Me.

⁹ to say to the prisoners, Go out! To those who are in darkness, Show yourselves! They shall feed in the ways, and their pastures shall be in all high places.

²⁴ Shall the plunder be taken from the warrior, or the righteous captive escape? ²⁵ But so says Jehovah, Even the captives of the warrior shall be taken, and the plunder of the terrifying ones shall be delivered. For I will strive with him who contends with you; and I will save your sons.

⁹ Break out, sing together, waste places of Jerusalem; for Jehovah comforts His people; He has redeemed Jerusalem.

¹⁵ For so says the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity, and His name is Holy: I dwell in the high and holy place, even with the contrite and humble of spirit; to make live the spirit of the humble and to make live the heart of the contrite ones.

²¹ As for Me, this is My covenant with them, says Jehovah: My Spirit who is on you, and My words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart out of your mouth, or out of the mouth of your seed, or out of the mouth of your seed's seed, from now on and forever, says Jehovah.

² And My hand has made all these things, even all these things exist, declares Jehovah. But I will look toward this one, to the afflicted, and to the contrite of spirit, even trembling at My word.

⁸ The word that was to Jeremiah from Jehovah after king Zedekiah had cut a covenant with all the people in Jerusalem, to proclaim liberty to them,

²⁴ Seventy weeks are decreed as to your people, and as to your holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make atonement for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the Most Holy.

¹ Come and let us return to Jehovah. For He has torn, and He will heal us. He has stricken, and He will bind us up.

¹¹ Also you, by the blood of your covenant I have freed your prisoners from the pit; no water is in it. ¹² Turn to the stronghold, O prisoners of hope! Even today I declare I will return double to you.

¹⁶ And having been baptized, Jesus went up immediately from the water. And, behold! The heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God coming down as a dove, and coming upon Him.

³ Blessed are the poor in spirit! For theirs is the kingdom of the Heavens. ⁴ Blessed are they who mourn! For they shall be comforted. ⁵ Blessed are the meek! For they shall inherit the earth. Psa. 37:11

⁵ The blind receive sight, and the lame walk; lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear; the dead are raised, and the poor are given the gospel. Isa. 61:1

¹⁸ " The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me. Because of this He anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me" to heal the brokenhearted, "to preach remission to captives and new sight to the blind," to send away the ones having been crushed in deliverance, ¹⁹ "to preach an acceptable year of the Lord." Isa. 61:1, 2

²² And answering, Jesus said to them, Going, report to John what you saw and heard: "Blind ones see again;" "lame ones walk about;" "lepers are being cleansed; "deaf ones hear;" dead ones are raised; poor ones are given the gospel. Isa. 35:5, 6; 61:1

³² And John witnessed, saying, I have seen the Spirit coming down as a dove out of Heaven, and He abode on Him. ³³ And I did not know Him, but the One sending me to baptize in water, that One said to me, On whomever you see the Spirit coming down and abiding on Him, this is the One baptizing in the Holy Spirit.

⁴¹ This one first found his own brother Simon and tells him, We have found the Messiah (which being translated is, the Christ).

³⁴ For the One whom God sent speaks the words of God, for God does not give the Spirit by measure.

³² And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. ³³ They answered Him, We are Abraham's seed, and we have been in slavery to no one, never! How do you say, You will become free? ³⁴ Jesus answered them, Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone practicing sin is a slave of sin. ³⁵ But the slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. ³⁶ Therefore, if the Son sets you free, you are free indeed.

²⁷ For truly both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the nations and the peoples of Israel, were gathered together against Your holy child Jesus, whom You anointed,

³⁸ Jesus the One from Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good, and healing all those having been oppressed by the Devil, because God was with Him.

¹⁸ to open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the authority of Satan to God, in order that they may receive remission of sins, and an inheritance among those being sanctified by faith in Me.

¹⁶ Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves as slaves for obedience, you are slaves to whom you obey, whether of sin to death, or obedience to righteousness? ¹⁷ But thanks be to God that you were slaves of sin, but you obeyed from the heart the form of doctrine to which you were delivered. ¹⁸ And having been set free from sin, you were enslaved to righteousness. ¹⁹ I speak as a man on account of the weakness of your flesh. For as you presented your members as slaves to uncleanness and to lawless act unto lawless act, so now yield your members as slaves to righteousness unto sanctification. ²⁰ For when you were slaves of sin, you were free as to righteousness. ²¹ Therefore what fruit did you have then in the things over which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. ²² But now being set free from sin, and being enslaved to God, you have your fruit unto sanctification, and the end everlasting life.

²³ but I see another law in my members having warred against the law of my mind, and taking me captive by the law of sin being in my members. ²⁴ O wretched man that I am! Who shall deliver me from the body of this death? ²⁵ I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then I myself with the mind truly serve the law of God, and with the flesh the law of sin.

⁶ But He who comforts the lowly comforted us by the presence of Titus.

²⁵ in meekness teaching those who have opposed, if perhaps God may give them repentance for a full knowledge of the truth, ²⁶ and they may awake out of the snare of the Devil, having been taken captive by him, so as to do the will of that one.

⁹ You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; because of this God, Your God, has anointed You with the oil of gladness beside Your fellows." Psa. 45:6, 7
