²¹ As for Me, this is My covenant with them, says Jehovah: My Spirit who is on you, and My words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart out of your mouth, or out of the mouth of your seed, or out of the mouth of your seed's seed, from now on and forever, says Jehovah.

¹ And a Shoot goes out from the stump of Jesse, and a Branch will bear fruit out of his roots. ² And the Spirit of Jehovah shall rest on Him; He will have the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and power, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of Jehovah. ³ And He is made to breathe in the fear of Jehovah. But He shall not judge by the seeing of His eyes, nor decide by the hearing of His ears.

³ For I will pour water on a thirsty place, and floods on the dry ground. I will pour My Spirit on your seed, and My blessing on your offspring.

⁸ So says Jehovah: In a favorable time I have answered You, and in a day of salvation I have helped You. And I will preserve You, and give You for a covenant of the people; to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolated inheritances;

¹⁶ And I have put My words in your mouth, and covered you in the shade of My hand, to plant the heavens and found the earth, and to say to Zion, You are My people.

³ Bend your ear and come to Me; hear, and your soul shall live; and I will cut a covenant everlasting with you, the faithful mercies of David.

¹ The Spirit of the Lord Jehovah is on Me, because Jehovah has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the meek. He has sent Me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to captives, and complete opening to the bound ones; ² to proclaim the acceptable year of Jehovah, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn; ³ to appoint to those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, the mantle of praise instead of the spirit of infirmity, so that one calls them trees of righteousness, the planting of Jehovah, in order to beautify Himself.

³¹ Behold, the days come, says Jehovah, that I will cut a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah, ³² not according to the covenant that I cut with their fathers in the day I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt (which covenant of Mine they broke, although I was a husband to them, says Jehovah). ³³ But this shall be the covenant that I will cut with the house of Israel: After those days, declares Jehovah, I will put My law in their inward parts, and I will write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. ³⁴ And they shall no longer each man teach his neighbor, and each man his brother, saying, Know Jehovah. For they shall all know Me, from the least of them even to the greatest of them, declares Jehovah. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sins no more.

³⁸ And they shall be My people, and I will be their God. ³⁹ And I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear Me all the days, for good to them and to their sons after them. ⁴⁰ And I will cut an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do good to them. But I will put My fear in their heart, that they shall not depart from Me. ⁴¹ And I will rejoice over them, to do good to them; and I will truly plant them in this land with all My heart and with all My soul.

²⁵ Then I will sprinkle clean waters on you, and you shall be clean. I will cleanse you from all your defilement and from all your idols. ²⁶ And I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. And I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give to you a heart of flesh. ²⁷ And I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you shall keep My judgments and do them .

²⁵ And they shall dwell on the land that I have given to my servant, to Jacob, there where your fathers dwelt in it. And they shall dwell on it, they and their sons, and the sons of their sons, forever. And My Servant David shall be a ruler to them forever. ²⁶ And I will cut a covenant of peace with them, an everlasting covenant it shall be with them, And I will place them and multiply them, and I will put My sanctuary in their midst forever. ²⁷ And My tabernacle shall be with them, and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.

²⁵ So the Lord Jehovah says this: Now I will return the captivity of Jacob and will have mercy on all the house of Israel. And I will be jealous for My holy name. ²⁶ And also after they have borne their shame, and all their treachery which they have done against Me, when they dwell on their land securely, and no one terrifies; ²⁷ when I have returned them from the peoples, and gathered them out of the hand of their enemies, and am sanctified in them in the sight of many nations, ²⁸ then they shall know that I am Jehovah their God who exiled them among the nations. But I have gathered them to their own land and have not left any of them there. ²⁹ And I will not any more hide My face from them, for I have poured out My Spirit on the house of Israel, declares the Lord Jehovah.

³³ And I did not know Him, but the One sending me to baptize in water, that One said to me, On whomever you see the Spirit coming down and abiding on Him, this is the One baptizing in the Holy Spirit.

³⁴ For the One whom God sent speaks the words of God, for God does not give the Spirit by measure.

¹⁴ but whoever may drink of the water which I will give him will never ever thirst, but the water which I will give to him will become a fountain of water in him, springing up into everlasting life.

¹⁶ Jesus answered them and said, My doctrine is not Mine, but of the One who sent Me. ¹⁷ If anyone desires to do His will, he will know concerning the doctrine, whether it is of God, or I speak from Myself.

³⁹ But He said this concerning the Spirit, whom the ones believing into Him were about to receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

³⁸ I speak what I have seen with My Father. And you therefore do what you have seen with your father.

⁸ For the words which You gave to Me, I have given to them. And they received and truly knew that I came out from beside You, and they believed that You sent Me.

⁹ But you are not in flesh, but in Spirit, since the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone has not the Spirit of Christ, this one is not His.

³ For I delivered to you in the first place what I also received, that Christ died for our sins, according to the Scriptures, ⁴ and that He was buried, and that He was raised the third day, according to the Scriptures, ⁵ and that He appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. ⁶ Then He appeared to over five hundred brothers at once, of whom the most remain until now, but some also fell asleep. ⁷ Then He was seen by James, then by all the apostles; ⁸ and last of all, even as if to one born out of time, He was also seen by me. ⁹ For I am the least of the apostles, who am not sufficient to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. ¹⁰ But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace which was toward me has not been without fruit, but I labored more abundantly than all of them, yet not I, but the grace of God with me. ¹¹ Then whether they or I, so we preach, and so you believed. ¹² But if Christ is proclaimed, that He was raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is not a resurrection of the dead? ¹³ But if there is not a resurrection of the dead, neither has Christ been raised. ¹⁴ But if Christ has not been raised, then our proclamation is worthless, and your faith is also worthless. ¹⁵ And also we are found to be false witnesses of God, because we witnessed as to God that He raised Christ, whom He did not raise, if then dead ones are not raised. ¹⁶ For if the dead are not raised, Christ has not been raised. ¹⁷ But if Christ has not been raised, your faith is foolish; you are still in your sins. ¹⁸ And then those that fell asleep in Christ were lost. ¹⁹ If we only have hope in Christ in this life, we are of all men most miserable. ²⁰ But now Christ has been raised from the dead; He became the firstfruit of those having fallen asleep. ²¹ For since death is through man, also through a Man is a resurrection of the dead; ²² for as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive. ²³ But each in his own order: Christ, the firstfruit, afterward those of Christ at His coming. ²⁴ Then is the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God, even the Father, when He makes to cease all rule and all authority and power. ²⁵ for it is right for Him to reign until He puts all the enemies under His feet; Psa. 110:1 ²⁶ the last enemy made to cease is death. ²⁷ For "He subjected all things under His feet;" but when He says that all things have been subjected, it is plain that it excepts Him who has subjected all things to Him. Psa. 8:6 ²⁸ But when all things are subjected to Him, then the Son Himself also will be subjected to the One who has subjected all things to Him, that God may be all things in all. ²⁹ Otherwise, what will they do, those being baptized on behalf of the dead? If the dead are not at all raised, why indeed are they baptized on behalf of the dead? ³⁰ Why are we also in danger every hour? ³¹ Day by day I die, by your boasting, which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord. ³² If according to man I fought with beasts in Ephesus, what the profit to me if the dead are not raised? ("Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die.") Isa. 22:13 ³³ Do not be led astray; bad companionships ruin good habits. ³⁴ Be righteously awake, and do not sin; for some have ignorance of God. I speak to your shame. ³⁵ But someone will say, How are the dead raised? And with what body do they come? ³⁶ Foolish one! What you sow is not made alive unless it dies. ³⁷ And what you sow, you do not sow the body that is going to be, but a bare grain, (it may be of wheat, or of some of the rest), ³⁸ and God gives it a body according as He willed, and to each of the seeds its own body. ³⁹ Not every flesh is the same flesh, but one flesh of men, and another flesh of beasts, and another of fish, and another of birds. ⁴⁰ And there are heavenly bodies, and earthly bodies. But the glory of the heavenly is truly different, and that of the earthly different; ⁴¹ one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for star differs from star in glory. ⁴² So also the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption, it is raised in incorruption. ⁴³ It is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness, it is raised in power. ⁴⁴ It is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body; there is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. ⁴⁵ So also it has been written, "The" first "man", Adam, "became a living soul;" the last Adam a life-giving Spirit. Gen. 2:7 ⁴⁶ But not the spiritual first, but the natural; afterward the spiritual. ⁴⁷ The first man was out of earth, earthy. The second Man was the Lord out of Heaven. Gen. 2:7 ⁴⁸ Such the earthy man, such also the earthy ones. And such the heavenly Man, such also the heavenly ones. ⁴⁹ And as we bore the image of the earthy man, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly Man . ⁵⁰ And I say this, brothers, that flesh and blood is not able to inherit the kingdom of God, nor does corruption inherit incorruption. ⁵¹ Behold, I speak a mystery to you: we shall not all fall asleep, but we shall all be changed. ⁵² In a moment, in a glance of an eye, at the last trumpet; for a trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall all be changed. ⁵³ For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. ⁵⁴ But when this corruptible shall put on incorruption, and this mortal shall put on immortality, then will take place the word that has been written, "Death was swallowed up in victory." Isa. 25:8 ⁵⁵ "O death, where is your sting? Hades, where is your victory?" Hos. 13:14 ⁵⁶ Now the sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law; ⁵⁷ but thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ! ⁵⁸ So that, my beloved brothers, you be firm, immovable, abounding in the work of the Lord always, knowing that your labor is not without fruit in the Lord.

⁸ how much rather the ministry of the Spirit will be in glory!

¹⁷ And the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. ¹⁸ But we all with our face having been unveiled, having beheld the glory of the Lord in a mirror, are being changed into the same image from glory to glory, as from the Lord Spirit.

⁶ But now He has gotten a more excellent ministry, also by so much as He is a Mediator of a better covenant, which has been enacted on better promises. ⁷ For if that first was faultless, place would not have been sought for a second. ⁸ For finding fault, He said to them, "Behold, days are coming, says the Lord, and I will make an end on the house of Israel and on the house of Judah; a new covenant shall be, ⁹ not according to the covenant which I made with their fathers in the day of My taking hold of their hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they did not continue in My covenant, and I did not regard them, says the Lord. ¹⁰ Because this is the covenant which I will covenant with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord, giving My laws into their mind, and I will write them on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be My people." ¹¹ "And they shall no more teach each one his neighbor, and each one his brother, saying, Know the Lord; because all shall know Me, from the least of them to their great ones. ¹² For I will be merciful to their unrighteousnesses, and I will not at all remember their sins and their lawless deeds." LXX-Jer. 38:31-34; MT-Jer. 31:31-34 ¹³ In the saying, New, He has made the first old. And the thing having been made old and growing aged is near disappearing.
