¹ Be quiet before Me, O coasts; and let peoples renew their power. They come near; then they speak: Let us draw near together for judgment.

³ Oh that I knew where I might find Him, I would come into His seat; ⁴ I would order my cause before Him, and I would fill my mouth with arguments. ⁵ I would know the words He would answer me, and understand what He would say to me. ⁶ Would He plead against me with greatness of strength? No, surely He would put it in me. ⁷ There the righteous might reason with Him; and I would be forever delivered from my Judge.

³⁵ Oh that I had one to hear me! See, my mark! Let the Almighty answer me, and let my Accuser write an indictment. ³⁶ Surely I would carry it on my shoulder, and bind it like crowns to me.

³ Now gird up your loins like a man, for I will question you; and you teach Me.

⁷ Now gird up your loins like a man, and I will question you; and you teach Me. ⁸ Will you also set aside My judgment; will you condemn Me so that you may be justified? ⁹ And have you an arm like God; or can you thunder with a voice like His? ¹⁰ Adorn yourself with majesty now, and with grandeur, and clothe yourself with glory and honor;

¹⁰ Be still and know that I am God! I will be exalted among the nations; I will be exalted in the earth.

¹⁸ Come now and let us reason together, says Jehovah: Though your sins are as scarlet, they shall be white as snow; though they are red as the crimson, they shall be like wool.

⁹ O peoples, suffer evil, and be broken! And listen, all from the far places of the earth; gird yourselves, and be broken. Gird yourselves and be broken! ¹⁰ Counsel a counsel, and it is frustrated; speak a word, and it shall not rise; for God is with us.

¹¹ And it shall be in that day, the Lord shall again set His hand, the second time, to recover the remnant of His people that remains, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Ethiopia, and from Persia, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the coasts of the sea.

¹ Nations, come near to hear; and peoples, listen! Let the earth hear, and its fullness, the world and all its offspring.

⁶ Each man helps his neighbor, and says to his brother, Be strong. ⁷ So the carver strengthens the refiner; and he smoothing with the hammer, him who struck the anvil, saying of the soldering, It is good. And he made it strong with nails; it will not totter.

²¹ Bring your cause, says Jehovah; let your strong reasons come near, says the King of Jacob. ²² Let them draw near and tell us what shall happen; the former things, let them reveal what they are, that we may set our heart and know their end; or declare to us the coming things.

¹⁶ Come near to me; hear this: I have not spoken in secret from the beginning. From its being, I was there; and now the Lord Jehovah, and His Spirit, has sent Me.

¹ Hear Me, coastlands, and you people from afar, and prick up your ear, Jehovah called Me from the womb; He mentioned My name from My mother's belly.

⁸ My Justifier is near. Who will contend with Me? Let us stand up together; who is master of My judgment? Let him come near to Me.

¹⁰ Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruning hooks into spears. Let the weak say, I am strong. ¹¹ Gather yourselves and come, all you nations; and gather yourselves together all around. O Jehovah, bring down Your mighty ones.

¹ Hear now what Jehovah says: Rise up, contend with the mountains, and let the hills hear your voice. ² Mountains, and you enduring foundations of the earth, hear the contention of Jehovah, for Jehovah has a quarrel with His people, and He will dispute with Israel. ³ My people, what have I done to you? And how have I made you weary? Answer against Me.

²⁰ But Jehovah is in His holy temple; let all the earth be silent before Him.

¹³ All flesh, be silent before Jehovah. For He is raised up out of His holy habitation.
