³ And I will strike your bow out of your left hand, and I will cause your arrows to fall out of your right hand.

⁹ causing to cease wars to the end of the earth; He breaks the bow and cuts apart spears; He burns the chariots in the fire.

³ There He broke the fiery arrows of the bow, the shield, and the sword, and the battle. Selah.

⁴ So says Jehovah, the God of Israel: Behold, I will turn back the weapons of war in your hand, with which you fight against the king of Babylon, and against the Chaldeans who besiege you outside the wall. And I will gather them together in the middle of the city. ⁵ And I Myself will fight against you with an outstretched arm and with a strong arm, even in anger, and in fury, and in great wrath.

²¹ But the sons rebelled against Me. They did not walk in My statutes, and they did not keep My judgments, to do them, which if a man does them, he shall live by them. They profaned My sabbaths. Then I said I would pour out My fury on them, to fulfill My anger against them in the wilderness. ²² But I withdrew My hand and acted for My name's sake, that it should not be profaned in the eyes of the nations, from whom I brought them out in their eyes. ²³ And I lifted up My hand to them in the wilderness, to scatter them among the nations and sow them among the lands, ²⁴ because they had not done My judgments and had despised My statutes and had profaned My sabbaths. And their eyes were after their fathers' idols.

⁵ And it shall be in that day, I will break the bow of Israel in the valley of Jezreel.
