¹³ And He declared His covenant to you which He has commanded you to do, the Ten Commandments; and He wrote them on two tablets of stone.

⁵ And now if you will surely listen to My voice, and will keep My covenant, you shall become a special treasure to Me above all the nations, for all the earth is Mine.

¹² And Jehovah said to Moses, Come up to Me to the mountain, and be there. And I will give to you the tablets of stone, and the law, and the commandments which I have written, to teach them.

¹⁷ And the appearance of the glory of Jehovah was like fire burning on the top of the mountain before the eyes of the sons of Israel. ¹⁸ And Moses came into the midst of the cloud, and he went up into the mountain. And Moses was in the mountain forty days and forty nights.

¹⁸ And when He finished speaking with him on Mount Sinai, He gave to Moses the two tablets of the testimony, tablets of stone, written by the finger of God.

²⁸ And he was there with Jehovah forty days and forty nights; he did not eat bread and he did not drink water. And He wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments.

¹ And Moses called to all Israel and said to them, Hear, Israel, the statutes and the ordinances which I speak in your ears today. And you shall learn them, and shall take heed to do them. ² Jehovah your God cut a covenant with us in Horeb. ³ Jehovah did not cut this covenant with our fathers, but with us, even us who are all of us here, alive today. ⁴ Jehovah talked with you face to face in the mountain out of the midst of the fire. ⁵ I stood between Jehovah and you at that time to declare to you the word of Jehovah; for you were afraid from the face of the fire, and you did not go up into the mountain, when He spoke, saying: ⁶ I am Jehovah your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage. ⁷ You shall have no other gods before Me. ⁸ You shall not make a graven image for you, any likeness of anything in the heavens above, or in the earth beneath, and in the waters from under the earth. ⁹ You shall not bow yourself to them nor serve them, for I, Jehovah your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of fathers on children, and on the third, and on the fourth generation of those that hate Me, ¹⁰ and doing kindness to thousands of those who love Me and keep My commandments. ¹¹ You shall not take the name of Jehovah your God in vain; for Jehovah will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain. ¹² Observe the sabbath day, to keep it holy, as Jehovah your God has commanded you. ¹³ Six days you shall labor, and shall do all your work, ¹⁴ and the seventh day shall be a sabbath to Jehovah your God. You shall not do any work, you nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male slave, nor your female slave, nor your ox, nor your ass, nor any of your livestock, nor your stranger that is within your gates; so that your male slave and your female slave may rest like yourself. ¹⁵ And remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and Jehovah your God brought you out from there by a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm. On account of this Jehovah your God has commanded you to keep the sabbath day. ¹⁶ Honor your father and your mother, as Jehovah your God has commanded you, so that your days may be prolonged, and so that it may be well with you in the land which Jehovah your God is giving to you. ¹⁷ You shall not commit murder. ¹⁸ And you shall not commit adultery. ¹⁹ And you shall not steal. ²⁰ And you shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. ²¹ You shall not lust after your neighbor's wife; nor shall you covet your neighbor's house, his field, nor his male slave, nor his female slave, his ox, nor his ass, nor anything which is your neighbor's.

⁹ When I went up into the mountain to receive the tablets of stone, tablets of the covenant which Jehovah cut with you, and I remained in the mountain forty days and forty nights (I did not eat bread nor did I drink water), ¹⁰ and Jehovah gave to me the two tablets of stone written with the finger of God, and on them was written according to all the words which Jehovah spoke with you in the mountain, out of the midst of the fire, in the day of the assembly; ¹¹ then it happened, at the end of forty days and forty nights Jehovah gave the two tablets of stone to me, tablets of the covenant,

¹ At that time Jehovah said to me, Cut out for yourself two tablets of stone like the first, and come up to Me, into the mountain, and you shall make for yourself an ark of wood; ² and I shall write on the tablets the words which were on the first tablets, which you have broken, and you shall place them in the ark. ³ And I made an ark of acacia wood, and cut out two tablets of stone like the first, and went up into the mountain; and the two tablets were in my hand. ⁴ And He wrote on the tablets according to the writing, the Ten Commandments which Jehovah had spoken to you in the mountain, out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly. And Jehovah gave them to me, ⁵ and I turned and came down from the mountain and put the tablets in the ark which I had made. And they are there, as Jehovah commanded me.

⁷ But if the ministry of death having been engraved in letters in stone was with glory, so as the sons of Israel could not gaze into "the face of Moses" because of the glory of his face, which was to cease, Ex. 34:34

⁴ having a golden altar of incense, and the ark of the covenant covered around on all sides with gold, in which was the golden pot having the manna, and Aaron's rod that budded, and the tablets of the covenant;

¹⁹ For when every command had been spoken according to Law by Moses to all the people, he took the blood of the calves and goats, with water and scarlet wool and hyssop, and he sprinkled both the scroll and all the people, ²⁰ saying, "This is the blood of the covenant which God enjoined to you." Ex. 24:8
