⁵ For we do not proclaim ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves your slaves for the sake of Jesus.

¹¹ I indeed baptize you in water to repentance; but He who is coming after me is stronger than I, whose sandals I am not fit to carry. He will baptize you in the Holy Spirit and fire,

²⁵ But having called them, Jesus said, You know that the rulers of the nations exercise lordship over them, and the great ones exercise authority over them. ²⁶ But it will not be so among you. But whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. ²⁷ And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your servant;

⁸ But do not you be called Rabbi, for One is your Leader, the Christ, and you are all brothers.

²⁵ And He said to them, The kings of the nations lord it over them, and those exercising authority over them are called benefactors. ²⁶ But you be not so, but the greater among you, let him be as the lesser; and the one governing as the one serving.

²¹ And they asked him, What, then? Are you Elijah? And he said, I am not. Are you the Prophet? And he answered, No. ²² Then they said to him, Who are you, that we may give an answer to those sending us? What do you say about yourself? ²³ He said, "I am a voice crying in the wilderness:" "Make straight" "the way of the Lord," as Isaiah the prophet said. Isa. 40:3

²⁷ John answered and said, A man is able to receive nothing unless it has been given to him from Heaven. ²⁸ You yourselves witness to me that I said, I am not the Christ, but that having been sent, I am going before that One. ²⁹ The one having the bride is the bridegroom. But the friend of the bridegroom, standing and hearing him, rejoices with joy because of the bridegroom's voice. Then this my joy has been fulfilled. ³⁰ That One must increase, but I must decrease. ³¹ The One coming from above is above all. The one being of the earth is earthy, and speaks of the earth. The One coming out of Heaven is above all.

¹⁸ The one speaking from himself seeks his own glory. But the one seeking the glory of the One who sent Him, this One is true, and unrighteousness is not in Him.

¹⁴ If then I washed your feet, the Lord and the Teacher, you also ought to wash the feet of one another. ¹⁵ For I gave you an example, that as I did to you, you also should do.

³⁶ Then assuredly, let all the house of Israel acknowledge that God made Him both Lord and Christ, this same Jesus whom you crucified.

¹² And seeing this, Peter answered to the people, Men, Israelites, why do you marvel at this one? Or why do you stare at us, as if by our own power or godliness we have made him to walk? ¹³ The "God of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob," "the God of our fathers," Ex. 3:15 glorified His child Jesus, whom you delivered up, and denied Him in the presence of Pilate, that one having decided to set Him free.

³¹ This One God has exalted as a Ruler and Savior to His right hand, to give to Israel repentance and remission of sins.

⁹ But a certain man named Simon had long been conjuring in the city and amazing the nation of Samaria, claiming himself to be some great one. ¹⁰ All were paying attention to him, from small to great, saying, This one is the power of God, which is great.

²⁵ And as Peter was coming in, meeting him, Cornelius fell at his feet and worshiped. ²⁶ But Peter lifted him up, saying, Stand up! I myself am also a man.

³⁶ The Word which He sent to the sons of Israel, preaching the gospel of peace through Jesus Christ, this One is Lord of all.

¹¹ And seeing what Paul did, the crowd lifted up their voice in Lycaonian, saying, The gods have come down to us, becoming like men. ¹² And they called Barnabas, Zeus, and Paul, Hermes, because he was the leader in speaking. ¹³ And the priest of Zeus being before their city, carrying bulls and garlands to the gates, he wished to sacrifice along with the crowds. ¹⁴ But Paul and Barnabas, the apostles, hearing, tearing their garments, they sprang into the crowd, crying out, ¹⁵ and saying, Men, why do you do these things? We also are men of like feelings to you, announcing the gospel to you to turn you from these vanities to the living God, who "made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and all things in them," Ex. 20:11

⁸ For both if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. Then both if we live, and if we die, we are the Lord's. ⁹ For this Christ both died and rose and lived again, that He might be Lord over both the dead and the living.

¹ But we, the strong ones, ought to bear the weaknesses of those not strong, and not to please ourselves. ² For let each one of us please his neighbor for good, to building up.

¹⁷ Therefore I have boasting in Christ Jesus as to the things pertaining to God. ¹⁸ For I will not dare to speak of anything which Christ did not work out through me for the obedience of the nations in word and work,

¹³ Has Christ been divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized into the name of Paul? ¹⁴ I give thanks to God that I did not baptize one of you, except Crispus and Gaius, ¹⁵ that not anyone should say that you were baptized in my name.

²³ we on the other hand preach Christ crucified (truly an offense to Jews, and foolishness to Greeks),

² For I decided not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ, and Him having been crucified.

⁵ What then is Paul? And what Apollos, but ministers through whom you believed, and to each as the Lord gave? ⁶ I planted, Apollos watered, but God made to grow.

⁶ but to us is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and we by Him.

¹⁹ For being free of all, I enslaved myself to all, that I might gain the more. ²⁰ And I became as a Jew to the Jews, that I might gain Jews; to those under Law as under Law, that I might gain those under Law; ²¹ to those without Law as without Law (not being without law of God, but under the law of Christ), that I might gain those without Law. ²² I became to the weak as weak, that I might gain the weak. To all I have become all things, that in any and every way I might save some. ²³ And I do this for the gospel, that I might become a fellow partaker of it.

³³ Even as I also please all in all things, not seeking my own advantage, but that of the many, that they may be saved.

³ Because of this I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says, Jesus is a curse. And no one is able to say Jesus is Lord, except by the Holy Spirit.

⁴⁷ The first man was out of earth, earthy. The second Man was the Lord out of Heaven. Gen. 2:7

¹⁹ For Jesus Christ the Son of God, the One proclaimed among you by us, through me and Silvanus and Timothy, was not yes and no, but has been yes in Him.

²⁴ Not that we rule over your faith, but we are fellow-workers of your joy. For by faith you stand.

¹⁴ For the love of Christ constrains us, having judged this, that if One died for all, then the all died; ¹⁵ and He died for all, that the living ones may live no more to themselves, but to the One having died for them and having been raised.

¹³ For, brothers, you were called to freedom. Only do not use the freedom for an opening to the flesh. But through love serve one another.

¹⁵ Some, indeed, even proclaim Christ because of envy and strife, but some also because of good will.

¹¹ and "every tongue should confess" that Jesus Christ is "Lord," to the glory of God the Father. Isa. 45:23

⁵ For neither were we then found with words of flattery, even as you know, nor with pretense of covetousness (God is witness), ⁶ nor seeking glory from men, neither from you, nor from others, having been able to be so with the weight of glory as apostles of Christ.

¹⁰ Because of this, I endure all things on account of the elect, that they also may obtain salvation in Christ Jesus, with everlasting glory.

¹¹ whose mouth you must stop, who overturn whole houses, teaching things which they ought not for the sake of ill gain.

² Shepherd the flock of God among you, exercising oversight, not by compulsion, but willingly; nor eagerly for base gain, but readily; ³ nor as exercising lordship over the ones allotted to you, but becoming examples of the flock. ⁴ And at the appearing of the Chief Shepherd, you will receive the never fading crown of glory. ⁵ Likewise, younger ones be subject to older ones; and all being subject to one another. Put on humility, because God sets Himself "against proud ones, but He gives grace to humble ones." Prov. 3:34

³ And by covetousness, with well-turned words, they will use you for gain, for whom judgment of old does not linger, and their destruction does not slumber.
