⁷ then I shall cut off Israel from the face of the land that I have given to them, and the house that I have hallowed for My name I shall send away from My face, and Israel shall be a proverb and a byword among all peoples.

²⁴ Do not defile yourself with all these, for with all these the nations have been defiled, which I am casting out before you; ²⁵ and the land is defiled, and I will visit its iniquity on it; and the land is vomiting out its inhabitants; ²⁶ and you, you shall keep My statutes and My judgments, and shall not do any of all these disgusting acts; neither the native nor the alien who is staying in your midst. ²⁷ For the men of the land who are before you have done all these disgusting things, and the land is defiled. ²⁸ Do not do these lest the land vomit you out for your defiling it, as it has vomited out the nation that was before you.

²⁶ I call the heavens and the earth to witness against you today that you shall soon utterly perish from off the land to which you go over the Jordan to possess it; you shall not prolong your days on it, but shall utterly be destroyed.

³⁷ And you shall be an astonishment, a proverb and a byword among all the peoples where Jehovah shall lead you.

²⁶ For they went and served other gods, and worshiped them, gods which they did not know, and who had not given to them any portion. ²⁷ And the anger of Jehovah was kindled against this land to bring on it all the curses that are written in this book. ²⁸ And Jehovah rooted them out of their land in anger and wrath, and in great indignation, and cast them into another land, as it this day.

³ And Jehovah said to him, I have heard your prayer and your supplication with which you have made supplication before Me; I have sanctified this house that you have built to put My name there forever; and My eyes and My heart shall be there forever.

²⁰ And Jehovah rejected all the seed of Israel, and afflicted them, and gave them into the hand of the plunderers, until He had cast them out from His presence. ²¹ For He tore Israel from the house of David, and they made Jeroboam the son of Nebat king; and Jeroboam lured Israel from following Jehovah, and caused them to sin a great sin. ²² And the sons of Israel walked in all the sins of Jeroboam that he did; they did not turn aside from them; ²³ until Jehovah turned away Israel from His face, as He spoke by the hand of all His servants the prophets; and Israel was exiled from off its land to Assyria to this day.

⁹ And he burned the house of Jehovah, and the king's house, and all the houses of Jerusalem; yea, he burned every great house with fire.

²¹ And the king of Babylon struck them, and killed them in Riblah, in the land of Hamath; and he exiled Judah from its land.

²⁰ then I shall pluck them up from off My land that I have given them, and this house that I have sanctified for My name I shall cast away from before My face, and I shall give it for a proverb and a byword among all the nations.

¹⁹ And they burned the house of God, and broke down the wall of Jerusalem; and they burned all its palaces with fire, and destroyed all its beautiful vessels.

¹ And it happened, when Sanballat heard that we built the wall, he was angry, and it was greatly enraging to him, and he mocked the Jews. ² And he spoke before his brothers and the army of Samaria and said, What are these feeble Jews doing? Will they forsake themselves? Will they sacrifice? Will they make an end in a day? Will they bring to life the stones out of the heaps of the rubbish which are burned? ³ And Tobiah the Ammonite was beside him, and he said, Even that which they build, if a fox goes up, he will even break down their stone wall. ⁴ O our God, hear. For we are despised. And turn their curse on their own head, and give them for a prey in the land of captivity.

¹⁴ You make us a byword among the nations, a shaking of the head among the peoples.

¹⁵ And you shall leave your name for a curse to My chosen. And the Lord Jehovah shall kill you; and He shall call His servants by another name.

⁴ Do not trust yourself to lying words, saying, The temple of Jehovah! The temple of Jehovah! This is the temple of Jehovah! ⁵ For if you thoroughly amend your ways and your doings; if you truly practice justice between a man and his neighbor; ⁶ if you do not oppress the stranger, the orphan, and the widow; and do not shed innocent blood in this place, or walk after other gods to your hurt; ⁷ then I will let you dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, from forever and to forever. ⁸ Behold, you trust for yourself on lying words without being of use. ⁹ Will you steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense to Baal, and walk after other gods whom you do not know? ¹⁰ And will you then come and stand before Me in this house on which My name is called, and say, We are delivered in order to do all those detestable things. ¹¹ Has this house on which My name is called become a den of violent ones in your eyes? Behold, even I have seen, declares Jehovah. ¹² But go now to My place which was in Shiloh, where I made My name dwell at the first, and see what I did to it for the evil of My people Israel. ¹³ And now, because you have done all these works, says Jehovah, and I spoke to you, rising up early and speaking, but you did not hear. Yea, I called you, but you did not answer. ¹⁴ And I will do to the house on which My name is called, in which you are trusting, and to the place which I gave to you and to your fathers, as I have done to Shiloh. ¹⁵ And I will cast you out from My face as I cast out all your brothers, all the seed of Ephraim.

⁹ I will even make them a horror among all the kingdoms of the earth for evil, for a reproach, and a proverb, a gibe, and a curse, there in all places where I will drive them.

⁶ then I will make this house like Shiloh, and will make this city a curse to all the nations of the earth.

¹⁸ Micah of Moresheth prophesied in the days of Hezekiah, king of Judah. And he spoke to all the people of Judah, saying, So says Jehovah of Hosts: Zion shall be plowed like a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house like the high places of a forest.

¹³ And he burned the house of Jehovah and the king's house. And he burned all the houses of Jerusalem with fire, and all the houses of the great ones.

⁶ And He violated his booth like a garden and destroyed his meeting-places. Jehovah made meeting-places and sabbaths forgotten in Zion, and He rejected king and priest in the fury of His anger. ⁷ The Lord has cast off His altar; He rejected His holy place. He has delivered the walls of her palaces into the hater's hand. They gave a noise in Jehovah's house, as a day of meeting.

¹⁵ All who pass by clap their hands at you. They hiss and wag their head at the daughter of Jerusalem, saying, Is this the city which they called the perfection of beauty, the joy of all the earth? ¹⁶ All your haters have opened their mouth against you; they hiss and gnash the teeth; they say, We have swallowed up. Surely this is the day for which we waited; we have found; we have seen.

²¹ Speak to the house of Israel, So says the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I will profane My sanctuary, the pride of your strength, the desire of your eyes, and that which your soul pities. And your sons and your daughters whom you have forsaken shall fall by the sword.

²⁷ Say this to them, So says the Lord Jehovah: As I live, surely those in the ruins shall fall by the sword, and I will give the one who is on the face of the field to the beasts to be eaten, and those in the forts and in the caves shall die by the plague. ²⁸ For I shall make the land desolate and a waste, and the pride of her strength shall cease. And the heights of Israel shall be a waste that none will go through. ²⁹ And they shall know that I am Jehovah, when I have made the land desolate and a waste because of all their abominations which they have done.

¹⁷ Let the priests, ministers of Jehovah, weep between the porch and the altar; and let them say, Have pity on Your people, O Jehovah, and do not give Your inheritance to shame, for a proverb among those of the nations. Why should they say among the peoples, Where is their God?

¹² Therefore, on account of you, Zion shall be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house into high places of the forest.

² But Jesus said to them, Do you not see all these things? Truly I say to you, There will not at all be left one stone on a stone which in no way will not be thrown down.

²⁴ And they will fall by the mouth of the sword and will be led captive to all the nations. And Jerusalem will be trodden down by nations, until the times of the nations are fulfilled.
