My God, my God why have you forsaken me? Why are you far from helping me, far from the words of my groaning? ² O my God, I call by day and you do not answer, and by night but I have no rest.* ³ Yet you are holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel. ⁴ Our ancestors* trusted you; they trusted and you delivered them. ⁵ They cried to you and were saved; they trusted you and were not ashamed. ⁶ But I am a worm and not a man, scorned by humankind and despised by people. ⁷ All who see me mock me. They open wide their lips; they shake the head, saying: ⁸ "_⌊He trusts Yahweh_⌋.* Let him rescue him. Let him deliver him because he delights in him." ⁹ Yet you took me from the belly; you made me trust while on my mother's breasts. ¹⁰ On you I was cast from the womb. From my mother's belly you have been my God. ¹¹ Do not be far from me because trouble is near; because there is no helper. ¹² Many bulls have encircled me; mighty bulls of Bashan have surrounded me. ¹³ They open their mouth against me like a lion tearing and roaring. ¹⁴ I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint. My heart is like wax; it is melted _⌊within me_⌋.* ¹⁵ My strength is dry like a potsherd, and my tongue is sticking to my jaws; and you have placed me in the dust of death. ¹⁶ Because dogs have surrounded me; a gang of evildoers has encircled me. Like the lion* they are at my hands and my feet. ¹⁷ I can count all my bones; they gaze, they look at me. ¹⁸ They divide my garments among them, and for my clothing they cast lots.* ¹⁹ But you, O Yahweh, do not remain distant. O my help, hasten to help me. ²⁰ Rescue my life from the sword, my only life from the power of the dogs.* ²¹ Save me from the mouth of the lion, and from the horns of the wild oxen answer me. ²² I will tell your name to my brothers; inside the assembly I will praise you. ²³ You who revere Yahweh, praise him! Glorify him, all you seed of Jacob, and be in awe of him, all you seed of Israel, ²⁴ because he has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted, and has not hid his face from him; but he listened to him when he cried for help. ²⁵ From you is my praise. In the great assembly, I will pay my vows before those who revere him. ²⁶ The afflicted will eat and will be satisfied. Those who seek him will praise Yahweh. May your* heart live forever. ²⁷ All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to Yahweh. All the families of the nations will worship before you. ²⁸ Because the kingship belongs to Yahweh, and he rules over the nations. ²⁹ All the _⌊healthy ones_⌋* of the earth will eat and worship. Before him all of those descending into the dust will kneel, even he who cannot keep his soul alive. ³⁰ Descendants* will serve him. Regarding the Lord, it will be told to the next generation. ³¹ They will come and tell his saving* deeds to a people yet to be born, that he has done it.

²² For Yahweh will not forsake his people for the sake of his great name, because Yahweh has decided to make you his own people.

²⁴ For* my sighing comes _⌊before_⌋* my bread,* and my groanings gush forth like water

¹ Why, O Yahweh, do you stand far off? Why do you hide* during times of distress?

Protect me, O God, for I take refuge in you.

¹¹ Do not be far from me because trouble is near; because there is no helper.

¹⁶ Because dogs have surrounded me; a gang of evildoers has encircled me. Like the lion* they are at my hands and my feet.

⁹ Do not destroy me* with the sinners, nor my life with men of bloodshed,

¹⁴ But as for me, I trust you, O Yahweh. I say, "You are my God." ¹⁵ My times* are in your hand. Deliver me from the hand of my enemies and from those who pursue me. ¹⁶ Shine your face upon your servant. Save me by your loyal love.

³ When I kept silent, my bones were worn out due to my groaning all the day. ⁴ For day and night your hand was heavy upon me. My vigor was changed into the dry heat of summer. Selah

²⁸ For Yahweh loves justice and will not forsake his faithful ones. They are protected forever. But the children of the wicked will be cut off.

⁸ I am faint and crushed greatly; I groan because of the roaring of my heart.

As a deer longs for streams of water, so my soul longs for you, O God. ² My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?*

¹ Judge me, O God, and plead my case against* an unfaithful* nation. From a man of deceit and wickedness rescue me, ² because you are the God of my refuge. Why have you rejected me? Why must I go about mourning because of the oppression of the enemy? ³ Send your light and your truth; they shall lead* me. They shall bring me to _⌊your holy mountain_⌋* and to your dwelling places. ⁴ Then* I will go to the altar of God, to God, _⌊my surpassing joy_⌋,* and I will praise you with lyre, O God, my God. ⁵ Why are you _⌊in despair_⌋,* O my soul? And why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God, because I will again praise him, _⌊my salvation_⌋* and my God.

¹¹ saying, "His God has abandoned him. Pursue and seize him, because there is no deliverer."

¹³ I bring my righteousness near; it is not far. And my salvation will not delay; and I will put* salvation in Zion, for Israel my glory."

¹¹ We all groan like bears, and we coo mutteringly like doves. We wait for justice, but* there is none; for salvation, but it is far from us.

⁴⁶ And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, "Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?" (that is, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?")*

³⁴ And at the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, "Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?" (which is translated, "My God, my God, _⌊why_⌋* have you forsaken me?")*

⁴⁴ And being in anguish, he began praying* more fervently and his sweat became like drops of blood falling down to the ground.*

⁴⁴ And he said to them, "These are my words that I spoke to you while I* was still with you, that everything that is written about me in the law of Moses and the prophets and psalms must be fulfilled."

⁷ who in the days of his flesh offered up both prayers and supplications, with loud crying and tears, to the one who was able to save him from death, and he was heard as a result of his reverence.

⁵ Your lifestyle must be free from the love of money, being content with what you have. For he himself has said, "I will never desert you, and I will never abandon you."*

³ My tears have been my food day and night, while they say to me all day long, "Where is your God?"

¹⁶ As for me, I will call to God, and Yahweh will save me. ¹⁷ _⌊Morning, noon and night_⌋* I will lament and groan loudly, and he will hear my voice.

⁴ O Yahweh God of hosts, _⌊how long will you be angry_⌋* against the prayer of your people?

O Yahweh, God of my salvation, I cry out by day and through the night before you.

⁸ Though I cry out for help, he shuts out my prayers.

⁴⁴ You have covered yourself in a cloud _⌊so that prayer cannot pass through_⌋.*

⁴⁴ And leaving them again, he went away and* prayed for the third time, saying the same thing again.

¹² Now it happened that in these days he went away to the mountain to pray, and was spending the whole night in prayer to God.

⁷ And will not God surely _⌊see to it that justice is done_⌋* to his chosen ones who cry out to him day and night, and will he delay toward them?

⁴¹ And he withdrew from them about a stone's throw and _⌊knelt down_⌋* and* began to pray,* ⁴² saying, "Father, if you are willing, take away this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will but yours be done." ⁴³ And an angel from heaven appeared to him, strengthening him. ⁴⁴ And being in anguish, he began praying* more fervently and his sweat became like drops of blood falling down to the ground.* ⁴⁵ And when he* got up from the prayer and* came to the disciples, he found them sleeping from sorrow, ⁴⁶ and he said to them, "Why are you sleeping? Get up and* pray that you will not enter into temptation!"

¹⁰ night and day praying beyond all measure that we may see your face and complete what is lacking in your faith?

³ _⌊I am thankful_⌋* to God, whom I have served with a clear conscience _⌊as my ancestors did_⌋*, when _⌊I remember you constantly_⌋* in my prayers night and day,

²¹ He is your praise, and he is your God, who has done with you these great and awesome things that your eyes have seen.

²³ He who sacrifices a thank offering honors me, and he who orders his way; I will show him the salvation of God."

Praise awaits you, O God, in Zion, and to you the vow shall be fulfilled.

⁹ Exalt Yahweh our God, and worship at his holy mountain, for Yahweh our God is holy.

¹⁷ Yahweh is righteous in all his ways, and loyal in all his works.

³ And the one called to the other and said,
"Holy, holy, holy is Yahweh of hosts! The _⌊whole earth is full of his glory_⌋."*

⁸ And the four living creatures, _⌊each one_⌋* of them, had six wings apiece, full of eyes around and inside, and they do not have rest day and night, saying,
"Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God All-Powerful,* the one who was and the one who is and the one who is coming!"

⁶ And he believed in Yahweh, and he reckoned it to him as righteousness.

⁹ Then Jacob said, "O God of my father Abraham, and God of my father Isaac, O Yahweh, who said to me, 'Return to your land and to your family, and I will deal well with you.' ¹⁰ _⌊I am not worthy_⌋* of all the loyal love and all the faithfulness that you have shown* your servant, for with only my staff I crossed this Jordan, and now I have become two camps. ¹¹ Please rescue me from the hand of my brother, from the hand of Esau, for I fear him, lest he come and attack mother and children alike. ¹² Now you yourself said, 'I will surely deal well with you and make your offspring as the sand of the sea that cannot be counted for abundance.'"

²⁸ And he said, "Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel,* for you have struggled with God and with men and have prevailed."

¹³ And Moses said to the people, "You must not be afraid. Stand still and see the salvation of Yahweh, which he will accomplish for you today, because the Egyptians whom you see today you will see never again. ¹⁴ Yahweh will fight for you, and you must be quiet."

³¹ And Israel saw the great hand* that Yahweh displayed against Egypt, and the people feared Yahweh, and they believed in Yahweh and in Moses his servant.

⁹ So Samuel took a single _⌊nursing lamb_⌋* and sacrificed it as a whole burnt offering to Yahweh. Then Samuel cried out to Yahweh on behalf of Israel, and Yahweh answered him. ¹⁰ _⌊While_⌋* Samuel was sacrificing the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near for the battle against Israel. But Yahweh thundered against the Philistines with a great noise on that day and threw them into confusion so that they were defeated before Israel. ¹¹ Then the men of Israel went out from Mizpah and pursued the Philistines and they struck them down as far as below Beth Car. ¹² So Samuel took a single stone and put it between Mizpah and Shen, and he named it Ebenezer and said, "Up to here Yahweh has helped us."

O God, we have heard with our ears; our ancestors* have told us of work you worked in their days, in days of old. ² You with your hand drove out the nations, but them* you planted. You harmed the peoples, but them* you let spread out. ³ For not with their sword did they possess the land, and their arm did not give them victory. Rather it was your right hand and your arm and the light of your presence, because you delighted in them. ⁴ You are my king, O God. Command* victories for Jacob. ⁵ By you we push down our enemies; by your name we tread down those who rise up against us. ⁶ For I do not trust my bow, and my sword cannot give me victory. ⁷ Rather you have saved us from our enemies,* and have humiliated those who hate us.

¹⁸ who against hope believed in hope, so that he became the father of many nations, according to what was said, "so will your descendants be."* ¹⁹ And not being weak in faith, he considered his own body as good as dead, * because he* was approximately a hundred years old, and the deadness of Sarah's womb. ²⁰ And he did not waver in unbelief at the promise of God, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God ²¹ and being fully convinced that what he had promised, he was also able to do. ²² Therefore* it was credited to him for righteousness.

⁸ By faith Abraham, when he* was called, obeyed to go out to a place that he was going to receive for an inheritance, and he went out, not knowing where he was going. ⁹ By faith he lived in the land of promise as a stranger, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the fellow heirs of the same promise. ¹⁰ For he was expecting the city that has foundations, whose architect and builder is God. ¹¹ By faith also, _⌊with Sarah_⌋*,* he received _⌊the ability to procreate_⌋* even _⌊past the normal age_⌋*, because he regarded the one who had promised to be faithful. ¹² And therefore these were fathered from one man, and he being as good as dead, as the stars of heaven in number and like the innumerable sand by the shore of the sea. ¹³ These all died in faith without receiving the promises, but seeing them from a distance and welcoming them, and admitting that they were strangers and temporary residents on the earth. ¹⁴ For those who say such things make clear that they are seeking a homeland. ¹⁵ And if they remember* that land from which they went out, they would have had opportunity to return. ¹⁶ But now they aspire to a better land, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed of them, to be called their God, for he has prepared for them a city. ¹⁷ By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered Isaac, and the one who received the promises was ready to offer his one and only son, ¹⁸ with reference to whom it was said, "In Isaac your descendants will be named,"* ¹⁹ having reasoned that God was able even to raise him from the dead, from which he received him back also as a symbol. ²⁰ By faith also Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things that were going to happen. ²¹ By faith Jacob, as he* was dying, blessed each of the sons of Joseph and worshiped, leaning on the top of his staff. ²² By faith Joseph, as he* was dying, mentioned about the exodus of the sons of Israel and gave instructions about his bones. ²³ By faith Moses, when he* was born, was hidden for three months by his parents, because they saw the child was handsome, and they were not afraid of the edict of the king. ²⁴ By faith Moses, when he* was grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter, ²⁵ choosing instead to be mistreated with the people of God rather than to experience the transitory enjoyment of sin, ²⁶ considering _⌊reproach endured for the sake of Christ_⌋* greater wealth than the treasures of Egypt, for he was looking to the reward. ²⁷ By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the anger of the king, for he persevered as if he* saw the invisible one. ²⁸ By faith he kept the Passover and the sprinkling of blood, in order that the one who destroyed the firstborn would not touch them. ²⁹ By faith they crossed the Red Sea as if on dry land; the Egyptians, _⌊when they made the attempt_⌋*, were drowned. ³⁰ By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they* had been marched around for seven days. ³¹ By faith Rahab the prostitute did not perish with those who were disobedient, because she* welcomed the spies in peace. ³² And what more shall I say? For time would fail me to tell about Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, and Samuel and the prophets,

³ And the _⌊Israelites_⌋* cried to Yahweh, as he had nine hundred iron chariots,* and he oppressed the _⌊Israelites_⌋* _⌊cruelly_⌋* for twenty years.*

⁶ Israel was very poor because of the presence of the Midianites,* and the _⌊Israelites_⌋* cried out to Yahweh.

¹⁰ Then the _⌊Israelites_⌋* cried out to Yahweh, saying, "We have sinned against you; we have abandoned our God and served the Baals." ¹¹ And Yahweh said to the _⌊Israelites_⌋,* "Did I not deliver you from the Egyptians,* the Amorites,* from the _⌊Ammonites_⌋,* and from the Philistines?* ¹² And when the Sidonians, the Amalekites,* and the Maonites* oppressed you, you cried out to me, and I delivered you from their hand. ¹³ Yet you have abandoned me and served other gods. Therefore I will no longer deliver you. ¹⁴ Go and cry out to the gods whom you have chosen; let them deliver you in the time of your trouble." ¹⁵ And the _⌊Israelites_⌋* said to Yahweh, "We have sinned; _⌊do to us accordingly as you see fit_⌋;* only please deliver us this day." ¹⁶ So they removed the foreign gods from their midst and served Yahweh; and _⌊he could no longer bear_⌋* the misery of Israel.

² O my God, I trust you; let me not be put to shame. Do not let my enemies exult over me. ³ Indeed, none who wait for you should be put to shame. Those who betray without cause should be put to shame.

In you, O Yahweh, I have taken refuge. Let me not be put to shame ever. Deliver me by your righteousness.

⁶ Let those who wait for you not be put to shame because of me, O Lord Yahweh of hosts. Let those who seek you not be disgraced because of me, O God of Israel. ⁷ Because on account of you I have borne reproach; disgrace has covered my face.

¹ In you, O Yahweh, I have taken refuge; let me never be put to shame.

⁶ Moses and Aaron were among his priests; Samuel also was among those who called on his name. They called to Yahweh, and he answered them. ⁷ He spoke to them in the pillar of cloud. They kept his testimonies and the statute he gave to them.

⁴⁴ Yet he looked upon their distress when he heard their cry.

¹⁷ Israel is saved by Yahweh with everlasting salvation; you shall not be ashamed, and you shall not be humiliated _⌊to all eternity_⌋.*

²³ And kings shall be your _⌊guardians_⌋,* and their queens your nurses. They shall bow down, _⌊faces_⌋* to the ground, to you, and they will lick up the dust of your feet. Then* you will know that I am Yahweh; those who await me shall not be ashamed.

³³ just as it is written,
"Behold, I am laying in Zion _⌊a stone that causes people to stumble_⌋*, and _⌊a rock that causes them to fall_⌋*, and the one who believes in him will not be put to shame."*

¹¹ For the scripture says, "Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame."*

⁶ For it stands in scripture,
"Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and the one who believes in him will never be put to shame."*

⁶ _⌊How much less_⌋* for a human being who is a maggot, and _⌊a human_⌋* who is a worm?"

¹¹ Because of all my adversaries I have become a disgrace, especially to my neighbors, and a dread to my acquaintances. Those who see me in the street flee from me.

⁷ Because on account of you I have borne reproach; disgrace has covered my face. ⁸ I have become a stranger to my brothers and a foreigner to my mother's sons, ⁹ because the zeal for your house* has consumed me, and the reproaches of those reproaching you have fallen on me. ¹⁰ When I wept in the fasting of my soul, it became reproaches for me. ¹¹ When I made sackcloth my clothing, I became for them a byword. ¹² Those sitting at the gate talk about me as also* the songs of the drunkards.

¹⁹ You know my reproach, my shame and my disgrace. _⌊Fully known_⌋* to you are all my adversaries. ²⁰ Reproach has broken my heart and I am sick. And I hoped for sympathy, but there was none, and for comforters, but I found none.

⁸ You have removed my acquaintances far from me. You have made me detestable* to them. I am confined and cannot go out.

¹⁴ You must not fear, O worm of Jacob; people of Israel, I myself, I will help you," _⌊declares_⌋* Yahweh, "and your redeemer is the holy one of Israel.

⁷ Thus says Yahweh, the redeemer of Israel, his holy one,
to the one who despises* life, to the one who abhors the nation, to the slave of rulers: "Kings shall see and stand up; princes, and they shall bow down, for the sake of Yahweh, who is faithful, the holy one of Israel, and he has chosen you."

³ He was despised and rejected by men, a man of suffering, and acquainted with* sickness, and like _⌊one from whom others hide their faces_⌋,* he was despised, and we did not hold him in high regard.

³⁰ Let him give a cheek to his smiter, let him be filled with disgrace.

¹⁹ The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, 'Behold, a man who is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!' But wisdom is vindicated by her deeds."*

²⁴ But the Pharisees, when they* heard it,* said, "This man does not expel demons except by Beelzebul the ruler of demons!"

²⁰ But the chief priests and the elders persuaded the crowds that they should ask for Barabbas and put Jesus to death. ²¹ So the governor answered and* said to them, "Which of the two do you want me to release for you?" And they said, "Barabbas!" ²² Pilate said to them, "What then should I do with Jesus, the one who is called Christ?" They all said, "Let him be crucified!" ²³ And he said, "Why? What wrong has he done?" But they began to shout* even louder, saying, "Let him be crucified!"

¹⁵ Then the Jews were astonished, saying, "How does this man _⌊possess knowledge_⌋,* because he* has not been taught?"

²⁰ The crowd replied, "You have a demon! Who is seeking to kill you?"

⁴⁷ Then the Pharisees replied to them, "You have not also been deceived, have you?* ⁴⁸ _⌊None_⌋* of the rulers or of the Pharisees have believed in him, have they?* ⁴⁹ But this crowd who does not know the law is accursed!"

⁴⁸ The Jews answered and said to him, "Do we not correctly say that you are a Samaritan and have a demon?"

¹² Therefore Jesus also suffered outside the gate, in order that he might sanctify the people by his own blood.

³ And they were singing the song of Moses, the slave of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying:
"Great and marvelous are your works, Lord God All-Powerful; righteous and true are your ways, King of the ages!*

⁴ I myself* also could talk as you, if _⌊you were in my place_⌋;* I could join against you with words, and I could shake at you with my head.

¹⁰ They gaped at me with their mouth; they struck my cheeks with disgrace; they have massed themselves together against me.

⁹ "But now I am their mocking song, and I have become a byword for them. ¹⁰ They abhor me; they keep aloof from me, and they do not withhold spit from my face ¹¹ because he has loosened his bowstring and humbled me, and they have thrown off restraint _⌊in my presence_⌋.*

¹⁸ Let lying lips be dumb, that speak against the righteous* unrestrained with arrogance and contempt.

¹⁵ But at my stumbling they rejoiced and gathered together; smiters whom I did not know gathered against me. They tore and did not cease. ¹⁶ Among the ungodly of the mockers at feasts,* they gnashed at me with their teeth.

¹⁴ You have made us a byword among the nations, a shaking of the head among the peoples.

²⁵ And so I am a disgrace to them; when they see me, they shake their heads.*

²² this is the word that Yahweh has spoken concerning him:
She shows contempt for you; she derides you, virgin daughter of Zion; she shakes her head behind you, daughter of Jerusalem. ²³ Whom have you taunted and blasphemed, and against whom have you raised up your voice and lifted your eyes upward?
To the holy one of Israel!

⁴ At whom do you make fun? At whom do you _⌊open_⌋* your mouth and _⌊stick out_⌋* your tongue? Are you not children of transgression, offspring of deception,

²⁴ he said, "Go away, because the girl is not dead, but is sleeping." And they ridiculed him.

⁶⁶ What do you think?" And they answered and* said, "_⌊He deserves death_⌋!"* ⁶⁷ Then they spat in his face and struck him with their fists, and they slapped him,* ⁶⁸ saying, "Prophesy for us, you Christ! Who is it who hit you?"

²⁹ and weaving a crown of thorns, they put it* on his head, and put* a reed in his right hand. And kneeling down before him, they mocked him, saying, "Hail, king of the Jews!"

³⁹ And those who passed by reviled him, shaking their heads ⁴⁰ and saying, "The one who would destroy the temple and rebuild it* in three days, save yourself! If you are the Son of God, come down from the cross!"

²⁹ So Jesus said to them, "I will ask you one question. Answer me and I will tell you by what authority I am doing these things. ³⁰ The baptism of John—was it from heaven or from men? Answer me!" ³¹ And they began to discuss* this* with one another, saying, "What should we say?* If we say 'From heaven,' he will say, 'Why then did you not believe him?' ³² But if we say, 'From men'"—they were afraid of the crowd, because they all looked upon John _⌊as truly a prophet_⌋.*

²⁰ And when they had mocked him, they stripped him of the purple cloak and put his own clothes* on him, and they led him out so that they could crucify him.

²⁹ And those who passed by reviled him, shaking their heads and saying, "Aha! The one who would destroy the temple and rebuild it* in three days,

¹⁴ Now the Pharisees, who were lovers of money, heard all these things, and they ridiculed him.

¹¹ And Herod with his soldiers also treated him with contempt, and after* mocking him* and* dressing him* in glistening clothing, he sent him back to Pilate.

³⁵ And the people stood there watching, but the rulers also ridiculed him,* saying, "He saved others; let him save himself, if this man is the Christ* of God, the Chosen One!" ³⁶ And the soldiers also mocked him, coming up and* offering him sour wine ³⁷ and saying, "If you are the king of the Jews, save yourself!" ³⁸ And there was also an inscription over him, "This is the king of the Jews." ³⁹ And one of the criminals who were hanged there reviled him, saying, "Are you not the Christ? Save yourself—and us!"

Yahweh, how many are my enemies; many are rising against me. ² Many are saying about my soul, "There is no deliverance for him from* God. Selah*

¹⁹ So he brought me out to a spacious place. He delivered me because he delighted in me.

I myself have made you, and I myself will carry you, and I myself will support you, and I will save you.

And finally two came forward ⁶¹ and* said, "This man said, 'I am able to destroy the temple of God and rebuild it* within three days.'" ⁶² And the high priest stood up and* said to him, "Do you reply nothing? ⁸ Be sober; be on the alert. Your adversary the devil walks around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.

⁵³ Every day when* I was with you in the temple courts,* you did not stretch out your* hands against me! But this is your hour and the domain of darkness!"

⁸ Give thanks to Yahweh; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the nations! ⁹ Sing to him; sing praises to him; tell of his wondrous works! ¹⁰ Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those seeking Yahweh rejoice! ¹¹ Seek Yahweh and his strength; seek his face continually! ¹² Remember his wonderful works that he has done, his wonders and the judgments of his mouth, ¹³ O offspring of Israel, his servant, O sons of Jacob, his chosen ones!

³⁰ Descendants* will serve him. Regarding the Lord, it will be told to the next generation.

⁸ Let all the earth fear Yahweh. Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.

¹² I will give you thanks, O Lord my God, with all my heart, and glorify your name forever,

³ Boast about his holy name. Let the heart of those who seek Yahweh rejoice. ⁴ Make supplication to Yahweh and his might; seek his face continually. ⁵ Remember his wonders that he has done, his signs and the judgments of his mouth, ⁶ O offspring of Abraham his servant, you descendants* of Jacob, his chosen ones. ⁷ He is Yahweh our God; his judgments are in all the earth.

⁵ that I may see the good done your chosen ones, to be glad in the joy of your nation, to glory together with your inheritance.

¹ Give thanks to Yahweh, for he is good, for his loyal love is forever. ² Let the redeemed of Yahweh declare* it, those whom he has redeemed from the hand of the enemy

¹¹ You who fear Yahweh, trust in Yahweh; he is their help and their shield.

¹³ He will bless those who fear Yahweh, the small with the great.

¹⁹ O house of Israel, bless Yahweh. O house of Aaron, bless Yahweh. ²⁰ O house of Levi, bless Yahweh. You who fear Yahweh, bless Yahweh.

¹⁹ He fulfills the desire of those who fear him; he also hears their cry for help, and saves them.

³ Therefore strong peoples will glorify you; a city of ruthless nations, they will fear you.

⁵⁰ And his mercy is for generation after generation to those who fear him.

²⁰ And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all that they had heard and seen, just as it had been told to them.

¹⁹ Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? ²⁰ For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God with your body.

³¹ Therefore, whether you eat or you drink or whatever you do, do all things for the glory of God.

⁴ Who would never fear, Lord, and glorify your name? For only you are holy, because all the nations* will come and worship before you, because your righteous deeds have been revealed."

² O my God, I call by day and you do not answer, and by night but I have no rest.*

⁶ But I am a worm and not a man, scorned by humankind and despised by people.

⁶ This poor man called and Yahweh heard, and saved him from all his troubles.

¹⁰ All of my bones shall say, "O Yahweh, who is like you, who delivers the poor from one stronger than he and the poor and needy from the one who robs him?"

¹⁷ and do not hide your face from your servant. Because I am in trouble, answer me quickly.

²⁹ But as for me, though I am afflicted and pained, your salvation will protect* me, O God. ³⁰ I will praise the name of God in song, and magnify him with thanksgiving. ³¹ For Yahweh it will be better than an ox or bull, horned and hoofed.* ³² The afflicted will see and rejoice. O God seekers, let your heart revive,* ³³ because Yahweh hears the needy and does not despise his own who are prisoners. ³⁴ Let heavens and earth praise him, the seas and all that moves in them,

³ The ropes of death encircled me, and the distresses of Sheol found me. I found trouble and grief. ⁴ Then I called on the name of Yahweh: "O Yahweh, please save my life!" ⁵ Gracious is Yahweh and righteous, and our God is merciful. ⁶ Yahweh watches over the simple. I was brought low, but he gave me victory.

⁵ Out of my distress I called to Yah.* Yah answered me, setting me in a broad place.

⁶ I gave my back to those who struck me, and my cheeks to those who pulled out my _⌊beard_⌋;* I did not hide my face from insults and spittle. ⁷ And the Lord Yahweh helps me,
therefore I have not been put to shame; therefore I have set my face like flint. And I know that I shall not be ashamed; ⁸ he who obtains rights for me is near. Who will contend with me? Let us stand together. Who is the master of my judgment? Let him approach me. ⁹ Look! The Lord Yahweh helps me. Who is the one who will declare me guilty? Look! All of them will be worn out like a garment; the moth will eat them.

⁴⁶ And Jesus, calling out with a loud voice, said, "Father, into your hands I entrust my spirit!"* And after he* said this, he expired.

²² I will tell your name to my brothers; inside the assembly I will praise you.

¹⁸ I will give thanks to you in the great assembly; among the mighty people I will praise you.

¹² My vows to you, O God, are binding upon me. I will pay thank offerings to you,

¹³ I will come into your house* with burnt offerings. I will pay to you my vows

¹⁶ Come and hear, all you God-fearers, and I will tell what he has done for me.*

¹ Praise Yah!* I will give thanks to Yahweh with all my heart, in the assembly of the upright and the congregation.

¹⁴ I will pay my vows made to Yahweh in the presence of all his people. ¹⁵ Costly _⌊in Yahweh's view_⌋* is the death of his faithful ones. ¹⁶ Ah, Yahweh, I am indeed your servant; I am your servant, the child of your maidservant. You have loosed my bonds. ¹⁷ I will offer to you a sacrifice of thanksgiving, and proclaim the name of Yahweh. ¹⁸ I will pay my vows made to Yahweh in the presence of all his people, ¹⁹ in the courts of the house* of Yahweh, in the midst of you, O Jerusalem. Praise Yah!*

¹⁹ Open to me the gates of righteousness, that I may enter through them and give thanks to Yah.* ²⁰ This is the gate of Yahweh, through which the righteous will enter.

⁴ When you make a vow to God, do not delay in fulfilling it, for _⌊he takes no pleasure_⌋* in fools. Fulfill what you vow! ⁵ It is better that you not vow than that you vow and not fulfill it.

¹¹ " 'And this is the regulation of the fellowship offerings that he must present to Yahweh: ¹² If he presents it for thanksgiving, in addition to the thanksgiving sacrifice he shall present ring-shaped unleavened bread mixed with oil and unleavened bread wafers smeared with oil and well-mixed ring-shaped bread cakes of finely milled flour mixed with oil. ¹³ In addition to ring-shaped cakes of bread with yeast, he must present his grain* offering together with* his sacrifice of thanksgiving peace offerings. ¹⁴ And he shall present one of each kind of grain* offering as a contribution for Yahweh; _⌊it belongs to_⌋* the priest who sprinkles the fellowship offerings' blood. ¹⁵ And the meat of the sacrifice of his thanksgiving fellowship offerings must be eaten on the day of his offering; he must not leave it until morning. ¹⁶ " 'But* if his sacrifice is for a vow or as a freewill offering, it must be eaten on the day of his presenting his sacrifice, and on the next day the remainder* from it may be eaten, ¹⁷ but* the remainder from the sacrifice's meat must be burned up in the fire on the third day.

¹⁶ Let them rejoice and be glad in you, all those who seek you. Let them say continually, "Yahweh is great!" —those who love your salvation.

³² The afflicted will see and rejoice. O God seekers, let your heart revive,*

³ Boast about his holy name. Let the heart of those who seek Yahweh rejoice. ⁴ Make supplication to Yahweh and his might; seek his face continually.

⁹ for he satisfies the longing soul,* and the hungry soul he fills with good.

⁶ And on this mountain Yahweh of hosts will make for all peoples a _⌊rich feast_⌋,* a feast of aged wines, fat filled with marrow, filtered aged wine.

¹³ Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh:
"Look! My servants shall eat but* you, you shall be hungry. Look! My servants shall drink but* you, you shall be thirsty. Look! My servants shall rejoice but* you, you shall be ashamed.

¹⁴ But whoever drinks of this water which I will give to him will never be thirsty for eternity, but the water which I will give to him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life."

⁴⁸ I am the bread of life. ⁴⁹ Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness and they died. ⁵⁰ This is the bread that comes down from heaven so that someone may eat from it and not die. ⁵¹ I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats from this bread, he will live _⌊forever_⌋.* And the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh." ⁵² So the Jews began to quarrel* _⌊among themselves_⌋,* saying, "How can this man give us his flesh to eat?" ⁵³ Then Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life in yourselves! ⁵⁴ The one who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. ⁵⁵ For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. ⁵⁶ The one who eats* my flesh and drinks my blood resides in me and I in him. ⁵⁷ Just as the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so also the one who eats* me—that one will live because of me. ⁵⁸ This is the bread that came down from heaven, not as the fathers ate and died. The one who eats* this bread will live _⌊forever_⌋."*

⁸ Ask from me and I will make the nations your heritage, and your possession the ends of the earth.

⁸ And may he rule from sea up to sea, and from the River* to the edges of the land.

¹¹ and let all kings bow down to him. Let all nations serve him.

⁹ All the nations that you have made will come and bow down* before you, O Lord, and glorify your name.

⁷ Ascribe to Yahweh, you families of the peoples, ascribe to Yahweh glory and strength.

³ He has remembered his loyal love and his faithfulness to the house of Israel. All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation* of our God.

²² when the peoples assemble, together with* kingdoms, to serve Yahweh.

¹ Praise Yahweh, all you nations; extol him, all you peoples.

²² Turn to me and be saved, all the ends of the earth, for I am God and there is none besides me.

⁸ Remember this and pluck up courage! Call to _⌊mind_⌋,* you transgressors! ⁹ Remember the former things from _⌊a long time ago_⌋,* for I am God and there is none besides me, God and there is none like me,

⁶ And he says, "It is trivial _⌊for you to be_⌋* a servant for me,
to raise up the tribes of Jacob and to bring back the preserved of Israel. I will give you as a light to the nations, to be my salvation to the end of the earth."

¹² Look! These shall come from afar, And look! These from the north and from the west and these from the land of Sinim."

¹⁵ and saying, "Men, why are you doing these things? We also are men with the same nature as you, proclaiming the good news that you should turn from these worthless things to the living God, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and all the things that are in them—

²¹ testifying both to Jews and to Greeks with respect to repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus.

¹⁸ to open their eyes so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a share among those who are sanctified by faith in me.' ¹⁹ "Therefore, O King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision, ²⁰ but to those in Damascus first, and in Jerusalem and all the region of Judea and to the Gentiles, I proclaimed that they should repent and turn to God, doing deeds worthy of repentance.

⁹ For they themselves report about us, what sort of welcome we had with you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God,

⁹ After these things I looked, and behold, a great crowd that no one was able to number, from every nation and tribe and people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, dressed in white robes and with palm branches in their hands. ¹⁰ And they were crying out with a loud voice, saying,
"Salvation to our God who is seated on the throne, and to the Lamb!" ¹¹ And all the angels stood around the throne and the elders and the four living creatures, and they fell down on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, ¹² saying,
"Amen! Praise and glory, and wisdom and thanksgiving, and honor and power and strength be to our God _⌊forever and ever_⌋*. Amen!"

⁷ For God is king of all the earth. Sing praises with understanding.* ⁸ God reigns over nations; God sits on his holy throne.

¹⁴ And to him was given dominion and glory and kingship that* all the peoples, the nations, and languages would serve him; his dominion is a dominion _⌊without end_⌋* that will not cease, and his kingdom is one that will not be destroyed.

²¹ And those who have been saved will go up on Mount Zion to rule the mountain of Esau. And the kingdom _⌊will belong to_⌋* Yahweh.

⁹ And Yahweh will be king over all the earth; on that day Yahweh will be one and his name one.

¹³ And do not bring us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.*

¹⁵ And the seventh angel blew the trumpet, and there was a loud voice in heaven saying,
"The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign _⌊forever and ever_⌋*."

¹² Even the daughter of Tyre will come with a gift. The rich from among people will seek your _⌊favor_⌋.*

⁶ those who trust their wealth and boast about the abundance of their riches? ⁷ Surely a man cannot redeem a brother. He cannot give to God his ransom ⁸ (since* the redemption price for their life is costly and it always fails), ⁹ so that he may stay alive forever and not see the pit.

¹⁰ Let the kings of Tarshish and the islands bring tribute. Let the kings of Sheba and Seba present gifts, ¹¹ and let all kings bow down to him. Let all nations serve him.

⁷ Their eye bulges from fat.* Imaginings overflow their heart.

³¹ the anger of God rose against them, and he killed some of the stoutest of them, even the young men of Israel he caused to bow down in death.

⁷ He raises the helpless from the dust; he lifts the needy from the ash heap,

¹⁶ Therefore the Lord, Yahweh of hosts, will send leanness among his sturdy warriors, and a burning like the burning of fire will burn under his glory.

¹⁹ Your dead shall live; _⌊their corpses_⌋* shall rise. Wake up and sing for joy, dwellers of the dust, for your dew is _⌊celestial dew_⌋,* and the earth will give birth to dead spirits.*

⁴ Then* you shall be low; you shall speak from the earth, and your words* will be low, from dust. And your voice will be from the earth, like a ghost, and your word will whisper from the dust.

²³ I have sworn by myself; a word that* shall not return has gone forth from my mouth in righteousness: 'Every knee shall kneel down to me; every tongue shall swear.'

³ And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the bright light of your sunrise. ⁴ Lift up your eyes all around and see! All of them gather; they come to you. Your sons shall come from afar, and your daughters shall be looked after on the hip. ⁵ Then you shall see and you shall be radiant; and your heart shall tremble and open itself wide, because the abundance of the sea shall fall upon you; the wealth of the nations shall come to you.

¹⁶ And you shall suck the milk of nations, and suck the breast of kings, and you shall know that I am Yahweh your Savior, and your Redeemer, the Strong One of Jacob.

⁹ I will destroy you,* O Israel; who will help you?*

³⁶ The one who believes in the Son has eternal life, but the one who disobeys the Son will not see life—but the wrath of God remains on him.*

²⁵ Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me, even if he dies, will live, ²⁶ and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die _⌊forever_⌋.* Do you believe this?"

¹⁰ But why do you judge your brother? Or also, why do you despise your brother? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God. ¹¹ For it is written,
"As I live, says the Lord, every knee will bow to me, and every tongue will praise God."* ¹² So* each one of us will give an account concerning himself.*

¹⁰ so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven and of those on earth and of those under the earth,

¹² And I saw the dead—the great and the small—standing before the throne, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the book of life, and the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to their deeds. ¹³ And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and each one was judged according to their deeds. ¹⁴ And Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death—the lake of fire. ¹⁵ And if anyone was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

²⁴ And the nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it.

⁵ There _⌊they are very fearful_⌋* because God is with the generation of the righteous.

⁶ Such is the sort of those who seek* him, those who seek your face, even Jacob. Selah

¹⁵ If I had said, "I will speak thus," behold, I would have acted treacherously against your children's generation.

⁶ Yahweh will record in writing the peoples, "This one was born there." Selah

²⁸ The children of your servants will continue, and their _⌊descendants_⌋* will be established before you.

¹⁰ Yet* Yahweh was pleased to crush him; he _⌊made him sick_⌋.* If she* places* his life a guilt offering,* he will see offspring. He will prolong days, and the will of Yahweh will succeed in his hand.

⁹ And do not think to say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham as father.' For I say to you that God is able to raise up children for Abraham from these stones!

²⁶ For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus,* ²⁷ for as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. ²⁸ There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. ²⁹ And if you are Christ's, then you are descendants of Abraham, heirs according to the promise.

¹³ And again,
"I will trust in him."*
And again,
"Behold, I and the children God has given me."*

⁹ But you are a chosen race,* a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's possession, so that you may proclaim the virtues of the one who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light,

⁹ I have brought good tidings of righteousness in the great congregation. Look, I have not shut my lips. O Yahweh, _⌊you surely know that_⌋.*

⁶ so that the next generation might know— children yet to be born— that they might rise up and tell their children,

¹⁸ Let this be written for the next generation, so that a people yet to be created may praise Yah,*

⁴ One generation will laud your works to another, and will declare your mighty deeds. ⁵ On the splendor of the glory of your majesty, and on your wonderful deeds, I will meditate. ⁶ And they will speak of the power of your awesome deeds,* and I will tell of your greatness.* ⁷ They will utter * the renown of your abundant goodness, and they will proclaim with joy your righteousness.

³ For I will pour out water on a thirsty land and streams on dry ground. I will pour my spirit out on your descendants* and my blessing on your offspring. ⁴ And they shall sprout _⌊among_⌋* the grass like willows by a watercourse of water. ⁵ This one will say, 'I belong to Yahweh!' And that one will be called by the name of Jacob, and another will write on his hand 'Yahweh's' and _⌊take the name_⌋* of Israel."

²¹ Then* you will say in your heart,
"Who has borne me these?" And, "I was bereaved and barren, exiled and thrust away; so* who raised these? Look at me! I was left alone; _⌊where have these come from_⌋?"* ²² Thus says the Lord Yahweh:
"Look! I will lift my hand up to the nations, and I will raise my signal to the peoples, and they shall bring your sons in their bosom, and your daughters shall be carried on their shoulders.* ²³ And kings shall be your _⌊guardians_⌋,* and their queens your nurses. They shall bow down, _⌊faces_⌋* to the ground, to you, and they will lick up the dust of your feet. Then* you will know that I am Yahweh; those who await me shall not be ashamed.

¹ "Sing for joy, barren woman; who has not borne! Burst forth into rejoicing and rejoice, she who has not been in labor! For the children of the desolate woman are more than the children of the married woman," says Yahweh.

⁴ Lift up your eyes all around and see! All of them gather; they come to you. Your sons shall come from afar, and your daughters shall be looked after on the hip.

⁷ Before she was in labor she gave birth; before labor pains* came to her, she gave birth to a son. ⁸ Who has heard anything like this? Who has seen anything like these things? Can a land be born in one day? Or can a nation be born in a moment?
Yet when she was in labor, Zion indeed gave birth to her children. ⁹ Shall I myself I break open and not _⌊deliver_⌋?"* says Yahweh, "or I who _⌊delivers_⌋* lock up the womb?" says your God.

¹⁷ For the righteousness of God is revealed in it from faith to faith, just as it is written, "But the one who is righteous by faith will live."*

²¹ But now, apart from the law, the righteousness of God has been revealed, being testified about by the law and the prophets— ²² that is, the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ* to all who believe. For there is no distinction, ²³ for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, ²⁴ being justified as a gift by his grace, through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus, ²⁵ whom God made publicly available as the mercy seat* through faith in his blood, for a demonstration of his righteousness, because of the passing over of previously committed sins,

¹⁹ For just as through the disobedience of the one man, the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one, the many will be made righteous. ²⁰ Now the law came in as a side issue, in order that the trespass could increase, but where sin increased, grace was present in greater abundance, ²¹ so that just as sin reigned in death, so also grace would reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

²¹ He made the one who did not know sin to be sin on our behalf, in order that we could become the righteousness of God in him.
