⁵ And he said to Korah and to his entire company, saying, "Tomorrow morning Yahweh will make known who is his and who is holy, and he will bring him near to him, whomever he chooses he will bring near to him.

¹ "And bring near to you Aaron, your brother, and his sons with him from the midst of the _⌊Israelites_⌋* to serve as priests for me—Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar, the sons of Aaron.

⁴³ And they will be on Aaron and on his sons when they come to the tent of assembly or when they approach the altar to serve in the sanctuary, so that they will not bear guilt and die. It is a lasting statute for him and for his offspring after him.

² "Take Aaron and his sons with him, and the garments and the anointing oil and the bull of the sin offering and the two rams and the basket of the unleavened bread,

³ Therefore* Moses said to Aaron, "This is what Yahweh spoke, saying, 'Among those who are close to me I will show myself holy, and _⌊in the presence of_⌋* all the people I will display my glory.'"* So* Aaron was silent.

⁶ They shall be holy to their God, and they shall not profane the name of their God, because they are bringing near the offerings made by fire to* Yahweh—their God's food—and they shall be holy. ⁷ " 'They shall not _⌊marry_⌋* a woman who is a prostitute and defiled, nor shall they _⌊marry_⌋* a woman divorced from her husband, because each priest* is holy for his God. ⁸ And you shall consecrate him, because he is bringing near your God's food; he shall be holy to you, since I, Yahweh, who consecrates you, am holy.

¹² And he shall not go out from the sanctuary, and he shall not profane his God's sanctuary, because the dedication of his God's oil of anointment is on him; I am Yahweh. ¹³ " 'And he himself must take a wife in her virginity. ¹⁴ A widow or* a divorced woman or* a defiled woman, a prostitute—these he must not take; he shall take only* a virgin from his people as wife. ¹⁵ And he shall not profane his offspring among his people, because I am Yahweh, who consecrates him.'"

³ They were assembled in front of Moses and Aaron, and they said to them, "_⌊You take too much upon yourselves_⌋!* All of the community is holy, every one of them, and Yahweh is in their midst, so why do you raise yourselves over the assembly of Yahweh?"

⁵ And it will happen, the man whom I will choose, his staff will blossom, and so I will rid from upon myself the grumblings of the _⌊Israelites_⌋,* who are grumbling against you."

²⁸ And I chose him from all the tribes of Israel to be a priest to me, to go up to my altar, to burn incense, and to bear an ephod before me. I gave to the house of your ancestor* all the offerings made by fire by the _⌊Israelites_⌋.*

⁴ Blessed is one whom you choose and bring near, that he may abide in your courts. We will be satisfied with the goodness of your house, your holy temple.

²⁶ He sent his servant Moses, together with Aaron whom he had chosen.

⁵ And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks,* and _⌊foreigners_⌋* shall be your farmers and vinedressers. ⁶ But* you shall be called the priests of Yahweh, _⌊you will be called_⌋* servers of our God. You shall eat the wealth of the nations, and you shall boast in their riches.

⁴⁶ And the chamber _⌊with its face to the north_⌋* is for the priests who are taking care of the responsibility of the altar. They are the descendants* of Zadok, the ones who approach from among the descendants* of Levi to Yahweh to serve him."

¹⁵ But the Levitical priests, the descendants* of Zadok, who cared for the responsibility of my sanctuary _⌊when the Israelites went astray_⌋* from me, they will approach me to serve me, and they will stand _⌊before me_⌋* to offer to me fat and blood," _⌊declares_⌋* the Lord Yahweh. ¹⁶ "They shall come to my sanctuary, and they shall approach my table to serve me, and they will observe my requirement.

¹⁸ You will return and see the difference between the righteous and the wicked, between the one who serves God and the one who does not serve him.

¹⁶ You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and your fruit should remain, in order that whatever you ask the Father in my name he will give you.

² until the day he was taken up, after he* had given orders through the Holy Spirit to the apostles whom he had chosen,

²⁴ And they prayed and* said, "You, Lord, who know the hearts of all, show clearly which one of these two you have chosen

² And while* they were serving the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, "Set apart now for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them."

⁷ And after* there was much debate, Peter stood up and* said to them, "Men and brothers, you know that in the early days* God chose among you through my mouth that the Gentiles should hear the message of the gospel and believe.

¹⁴ And he said, 'The God of our fathers has appointed you to know his will, and to see the Righteous One and to hear a voice from his mouth,

¹³ But now in Christ Jesus you, the ones who once were far away, have become near by the blood of Christ.

³ Suffer together with me as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. ⁴ No one who serves as a soldier is entangled in the activities of everyday life, so that he may please the one who enlisted him.

¹⁹ However, the solid foundation of God stands firm, having this seal: "The Lord knows those who are his,"* and "Everyone who names the name of the Lord must abstain from unrighteousness."

¹⁹ Therefore, brothers, since we* have confidence for the entrance into the sanctuary by the blood of Jesus, ²⁰ by the new and living way which he inaugurated for us through the curtain, that is, his flesh, ²¹ and since we have* a great priest over the house of God, ²² let us approach with a true heart in the full assurance of faith, our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

¹⁴ Pursue peace with everyone, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord.

⁵ And you yourselves, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. ⁶ For it stands in scripture,
"Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and the one who believes in him will never be put to shame."* ⁷ Therefore the honor is for you who believe, but for those who refuse to believe,
"The stone that the builders rejected, this one has become _⌊the cornerstone_⌋*," ⁸ and
"A stone of stumbling and a rock of offense,"*
who stumble because they* disobey the word to which also they were consigned. ⁹ But you are a chosen race,* a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's possession, so that you may proclaim the virtues of the one who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light,

⁶ and made us a kingdom, priests to his God and Father—to him be the glory and the power _⌊forever and ever_⌋*. Amen.

⁹ And they were singing a new song, saying,
"You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slaughtered, and bought people for God by your blood from every tribe and language and people and nation, ¹⁰ and made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they will reign on the earth."
