⁶¹ But he was silent and did not reply anything. Again the high priest asked him and said to him, "Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed One?"

⁷ I will tell the decree; Yahweh said to me: "You are my son; today I have begotten you.

I said, "I will guard my ways _⌊that I may not sin_⌋* with my tongue. I will keep a muzzle over my mouth as long as the wicked are before me." ² I was mute with silence. I was silent even from saying good things, and my pain was stirred up.

⁹ I am mute. I do not open my mouth, for you, yourself, have done it.

¹² Blessed are you, O Yahweh. Teach me your statutes.

⁶ For a child has been born for us; a son has been given to us. And the dominion will be on his shoulder, and his name is called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. ⁷ _⌊His dominion will grow continually, and to peace there will be no end_⌋* on* the throne of David and over* his kingdom, to establish it* and sustain it with justice and righteousness now and forever. The zeal of Yahweh of hosts will do this.

⁷ He was oppressed and afflicted, yet* he did not open his mouth; he was brought like a lamb to the slaughter, and like a sheep is dumb before its shearers, so* he did not open his mouth.

¹⁷ And behold, there was* a voice from heaven saying, "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased."

²⁹ And behold, they cried out, saying, "_⌊What do you have to do with us_⌋,* Son of God? Have you come here to torment us before the time?"*

³ and* said to him, "Are you the one who is to come, or should we look for another?" ⁴ And Jesus answered and* said to them, "Go and* tell John what you hear and see: ⁵ the blind receive sight and the lame walk, lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear, and the dead are raised, and the poor have good news announced to them.*

¹⁶ And Simon Peter answered and* said, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God!"

⁶³ But Jesus was silent. And the high priest said to him, "I put you under oath by the living God, that you tell us if you are the Christ, the Son of God!" ⁶⁴ Jesus said to him, "You have said it.* But I tell you, from now on you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power* and coming on the clouds of heaven."

¹² And _⌊when he was being accused_⌋* by the chief priests and elders he answered nothing. ¹³ Then Pilate said to him, "Do you not hear how many things they are testifying against you?" ¹⁴ And he did not reply to him, not even with reference to one statement, so that the governor was very astonished.

Again the high priest asked him and said to him, "Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed One?" ⁶² And Jesus said, "I am, and you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power* and coming with the clouds of heaven." ⁶³ And the high priest tore his clothes and* said, "What further need do we have of witnesses?

² And Pilate asked him, "Are you the king of the Jews?" And he answered him and* said, "You say so."

⁴ So Pilate asked him again, saying, "Do you not answer anything? See how many charges* they are bringing against you!" ⁵ But Jesus did not answer anything further, so that Pilate was astonished.

⁶⁷ saying, "If you are the Christ, tell us!" But he said to them, "If I tell you, you will never believe, ⁶⁸ and if I ask you,* you will never answer! ⁶⁹ But from now on the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the power of God." ⁷⁰ So they all said, "Are you then the Son of God?" And he said to them, "You say that I am." ⁷¹ And they said, "Why do we have need of further testimony? For we ourselves have heard it* from his mouth!"

³⁴ And I have seen and testify that this one is the Chosen One* of God.

⁴⁹ Nathanael answered him, "Rabbi, you are the Son of God! You are the king of Israel!" ⁵⁰ Jesus answered and said to him, "Because I said to you that I saw you under the fig tree, do you believe? You will see greater things than these!" ⁵¹ And he said to him, "Truly, truly I say to all of you, you will see heaven opened and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man."

¹⁸ So on account of this the Jews were seeking even more to kill him, because he not only was breaking the Sabbath, but also was calling God his own Father, thus* making himself equal with God. ¹⁹ So Jesus answered and said to them, "Truly, truly I say to you, the Son can do nothing from himself except what he sees the Father doing. For whatever that one does, these things also the Son does likewise. ²⁰ For the Father loves the Son and shows him everything that he himself is doing. And greater works than these he will show him, so that you will be astonished. ²¹ For just as the Father raises the dead and makes them* alive, thus also the Son makes alive whomever he wishes. ²² For the Father does not judge anyone, but he has given all judgment to the Son, ²³ in order that all people* will honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. The one who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him. ²⁴ Truly, truly I say to you that the one who hears my word and who believes the one who sent me has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. ²⁵ "Truly, truly I say to you, that an hour is coming—and now is here—when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and the ones who hear will live.

²⁴ So the Jews surrounded him and began to say* to him, "_⌊How long will you keep us in suspense_⌋?* If you are the Christ, tell us plainly!"

³⁰ The Father and I are one." ³¹ Then* the Jews picked up stones again so that they could stone him.

³⁶ do you say about he whom the Father set apart and sent into the world, 'You are blaspheming,' because I said, 'I am the Son of God'?

³⁷ Then Pilate said to him, "So then you are a king!" Jesus replied, "You say that I am a king. For this reason I was born, and for this reason I have come into the world: in order that I can testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears my voice."

⁷ The Jews replied to him, "We have a law, and according to the law he ought to die, because he made himself out to be the Son of God!"

⁹ and he entered into the governor's residence again and said to Jesus, "Where are you from?" But Jesus did not give him an answer.

³² Now the passage of scripture that he was reading aloud was this:
"He was led like a sheep to the slaughter, and like a lamb before its shearer is silent, so he did not open his mouth.

¹¹ according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God that I was entrusted with.

¹⁵ which he will make known in his own time, the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of those who reign as kings and Lord of those who rule as lords,

²³ who when he* was reviled, did not revile in return; when* suffering, he did not threaten, but entrusted himself to the one who judges justly,
