² And he said to them, "What I have done now in comparison with you? Are not the gleanings of Ephraim better than the grape harvest of Abiezer?

two or three ripe olive berries in the top of a branch, four or five on its fruitful branches,"

¹³ For it shall be like this in the midst of the earth, among the nations, like the beating of an olive tree, like gleanings when a grape harvest is at an end.

⁹ If grape-gatherers come to you, would they not leave gleanings? If thieves in the night, they destroy only _⌊enough for them_⌋.*

⁵ "If thieves came to you, if plunderers of the night—How you have been destroyed!—would they not steal _⌊what they wanted_⌋?* If grape gatherers came, would they not leave gleanings?

¹ Woe is me! For I have become like the gatherings of summer, like the gleanings of the grape harvest, when there is no cluster of grapes to eat or early ripened fruit that my soul desires.
