¹⁹ If anyone goes outside the doors of your house, _⌊they will be responsible for their own death_⌋,* and we will be innocent. Anyone who will be with you in the house, _⌊we will be responsible for their death_⌋* _⌊if a hand is laid on them_⌋.*

¹³ And the blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are, and I will see the blood, and I will pass over you, and there will not be a destructive plague among you when I strike the land of Egypt.

²³ And Yahweh will go through to strike Egypt, and he will see the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, and Yahweh will pass over the doorway and will not allow the destroyer to come to your houses to strike you.

⁹ " 'If there is _⌊anyone_⌋* who curses his father or his mother, he shall surely be put to death; he has cursed his father and his mother—his blood is upon him.

¹¹ As for* a man who lies with his father's wife, he has exposed his father's nakedness; both of them shall be put to death—their blood is on them.

²⁶ But if the killer surely goes out of the territory of the city of his refuge to which he fled, ²⁷ and the blood avenger finds him outside the territory of the city of his refuge, and the blood avenger kills the killer, _⌊he will not be guilty of blood_⌋* ²⁸ because he must live in the city of his refuge until the death of the high priest. But after the death of the high priest the killer will return to the land of his property.

¹⁴ And the men said to her, "_⌊Our lives for yours_⌋.* If you do not report this business of ours, _⌊we will show you loyalty and faithfulness_⌋* when Yahweh gives us the land."

¹⁶ David said to him, "Your blood is on your head, for your mouth has testified against you by saying, 'I killed Yahweh's anointed one!'"

²⁸ When David heard this afterwards, he said: "I and my kingdom are innocent _⌊before Yahweh_⌋* forever for the blood of Abner the son of Ner. ²⁹ May the blood come down on the head of Joab and all the house of his father. _⌊May the house of Joab never lack_⌋* one with a bodily discharge or one with leprosy or one who grasps the distaff or one who falls by the sword or one who is lacking food."

¹¹ _⌊How much more_⌋* when wicked men kill a righteous man in his house, on his bed! So then, shall I not seek his lifeblood from your hand, so that I may destroy you from the earth?"

³² Yahweh will return his blood on his head, because he fell upon two men, more righteous and better than he, and he killed them with the sword, even though my father did not know it; namely Abner son of Ner, commander of the army of Israel, and Amasa son of Jether, commander of the army of Judah.

³⁶ Then the king sent and summoned Shimei, and he said to him, "Build yourself a house in Jerusalem and live there, but you must not go out _⌊anywhere whatsoever_⌋* from there. ³⁷ It shall happen that on the day you go out and cross over the Wadi* Kidron, know for certain that _⌊you will surely die_⌋.* Your blood will be on your head." ³⁸ Shimei said to the king, "The word is good that my lord the king has spoken to me; thus will your servant do." So Shimei lived in Jerusalem many days. ³⁹ It happened that at the end of three years, two of Shimei's slaves fled to Achish, son of Maacah, the king of Gath. They told Shimei, saying, "Your slaves are here in Gath." ⁴⁰ So Shimei got up and saddled his donkey, and he went to Gath, to Achish, to search for his slaves. So Shimei went and brought his slaves from Gath. ⁴¹ When Solomon was told that Shimei had gone from Jerusalem to Gath and had returned, ⁴² the king sent and summoned Shimei, and he said to him, "Did I not make you swear by Yahweh? I warned you, saying, 'On the day you go out and you go _⌊anywhere whatsoever_⌋,* know for certain that _⌊you will surely die_⌋.'* And you said to me, 'The word is good; I accept.'

⁴ and _⌊anyone who listens_⌋* hears the sound of the horn and _⌊he does not take warning_⌋* and the sword comes and it takes him, his blood will be on his own head. ⁵ For he heard the sound of the horn and he did not take warning; his blood will be on him. But if he took warning, he saved his life.

¹⁷ The one who is on his* housetop must not come down to take things out of his house,

²⁴ So Pilate, when he* saw that he was accomplishing nothing, but instead an uproar was developing, took water and* washed his* hands before the crowd, saying, "I am innocent of the blood of this man. You see to it!"* ²⁵ And all the people answered and* said, "His blood be on us and on our children!"

⁶ And when* they resisted and reviled him,* he shook out his* clothes and* said to them, "Your blood be on your own heads! I am guiltless! From now on I will go to the Gentiles!"

²⁶ Therefore I testify to you on this very day that I am guiltless of the blood of all of you,*

³¹ Paul said to the centurion and the soldiers, "Unless these men remain with the ship, you cannot be saved!"

⁹ and may be found in him, not having my righteousness which is from the law, but which is through faith in Christ,* the righteousness from God on the basis of faith,*

²⁹ How much worse punishment do you think the person will be considered worthy of who treats with disdain the Son of God and who considers ordinary the blood of the covenant by which he was made holy and who insults the Spirit of grace?

²⁷ And as for you, the anointing which you received from him remains in you, and you do not have need that anyone teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you reside* in him. ²⁸ And now, little children, remain in him, so that whenever he is revealed we may have confidence and not be put to shame before him at his coming.
