²⁴ And Ezekiel will be to you as a sign; _⌊everything that he did_⌋* you shall do; and when it comes you will know that I am the Lord Yahweh.

² As you go from with me _⌊today_⌋,* you will find two men near the burial site of Rachel in the territory of Benjamin at Zelzah. They will say to you, 'The female donkeys that you went to search for have been found.' Now look, your father _⌊is no longer concerned about_⌋* the female donkeys and has begun worrying about you,* saying, 'What should I do about my son?' ³ Then you will go on from there and further you will come to the oak of Tabor. There three men will meet you, who are going up to God at Bethel. One will be carrying three male kid goats, one will be carrying three loaves of bread, and one will be carrying a skin of wine. ⁴ _⌊They will ask how you are doing_⌋* and will give you two loaves, which you will take from their hand. ⁵ After this, you will come to the Gibeah of God,* where there are sentries* of the Philistines. _⌊Just as you enter_⌋* the town there, you will meet a procession of prophets coming down from the high place, with harp, tambourine, flute, and zither before them, and they will be prophesying. ⁶ Then the Spirit of Yahweh will rush upon you,* and you will prophesy with them; and you will turn into _⌊a different person_⌋.* ⁷ When these signs come to you, do for yourself what your hand finds to do, for God will be with you.

¹⁸ Look! I and the children whom Yahweh has given to me are like signs and portents in Israel from Yahweh of hosts, the one who dwells on the mountain of Zion.

³ Then* Yahweh said, "Just as my servant Isaiah has walked naked and barefoot three years as a sign and a portent against Egypt and Cush,

¹⁵ Look, they are saying to me, "Where is the word of Yahweh? Please let it come."

³ And take for yourself a plate of iron, and you must place it as a wall of iron between you and the city, and you must set your face against it, and it must be _⌊under siege_⌋,* and you must lay the siege against it; it is a sign for the house of Israel.

⁷ and the slain one will fall in the midst of you, and then you will know that I am Yahweh.

⁹ And my eye will not take pity, and I will not show compassion. According to your ways I will _⌊deal with you_⌋,* and your detestable things will be in the midst of you, and you will know that I am Yahweh who strikes.*

²⁷ The king will mourn, and the prince will be dressed with despair, and the hands of the people of the land will tremble. According to their way I will do to* them, and according to their judgments I will judge them, and they will know that I am Yahweh.'"

⁶ Before their eyes, on your* shoulder, you must lift up the baggage in the dusk, and your face you must cover, so that you may not see the land, for I make you as a sign to the house of Israel."

¹¹ Say, 'I am your sign, and _⌊just as_⌋* I did, so will it be done to them in the exile; into* captivity they will go.'

²⁴ And all of the trees of the field will know that I, Yahweh, I will bring low a high tree, and I will exalt a low, fresh tree, and I will make a dry tree flourish. I, Yahweh, I have spoken, and I will do it.'"

⁵ And I will make Rabbah as a pasture of camels and the _⌊Ammonites_⌋* as a haunt of flocks, and they will know that I am Yahweh." '"

⁷ therefore look! I stretched out my hand against you, and I will give you as plunder* to the nations, and I will cut you off from the peoples, and I will destroy you from the countries, and I will wipe you out, and you will know that I am Yahweh."

¹¹ And on Moab I will execute punishments, and they will know that I am Yahweh."

¹⁴ And I will exact my vengeance on Edom by the hand of my people Israel, and they will do in Edom according to my anger and according to my rage, and they will know my vengeance," _⌊declares_⌋* the Lord Yahweh.

¹⁷ And I will execute on them great vengeance with punishments of rage, and they will know that I am Yahweh when I exact my vengeance on them!"

² _⌊At the beginning when Yahweh spoke_⌋* through Hosea, Yahweh said to Hosea, "Go, take for yourself a wife and children of whoredom, because the land commits great whoredom _⌊forsaking Yahweh_⌋."* ³ So he went and took Gomer daughter of Diblaim, and she conceived and bore him a son. ⁴ And Yahweh said to him, "_⌊Name him_⌋* Jezreel;* because in a little while _⌊I will punish_⌋* the house of Jehu* for the blood* of Jezreel,* and I will put an end to the kingdom of the house of Israel.* ⁵ _⌊On that day_⌋* I will break the bow of Israel in the Valley of Jezreel." ⁶ And she conceived again and bore a daughter, and he* said to him,
"_⌊Name her_⌋* Lo-ruhamah,* for I will no longer have pity on the house of Israel or _⌊forgive them_⌋.* ⁷ But I will have pity on the house of Judah and I will save them by Yahweh their God, and will not deliver them by bow, sword, war, horses, or horsemen. ⁸ And when she had weaned Lo-ruhamah,* she conceived and bore a son. ⁹ And he* said, "_⌊Name him_⌋* Lo-ammi,* for you are not my people and I am not your God.*

¹ And Yahweh said to me again, "Go, love a woman _⌊who has a lover_⌋* and is committing adultery, just like the love of Yahweh for the children of Israel, but they are turning to other gods and love raisin cakes." ² So I bought her for fifteen shekels of silver and a homer of barely and a measure of wine.* ³ And I said to her, "_⌊You must remain as mine_⌋* for many days, and you will not play the whore; _⌊you will not belong_⌋* to a man, and I will belong to you." ⁴ The children of Israel will remain for many days without a king and prince, without sacrifice and stone pillar, ephod and teraphim.

²⁹ And as* the crowds were increasing, he began to say, "This generation is an evil generation! It demands a sign, and no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah! ³⁰ For just as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites, so also the Son of Man will be to this generation.

¹³ This will turn out to you for a time of witness.

¹⁹ From now on I am telling you before it happens, in order that when it happens you may believe that I am he.*

²⁹ And now I have told you before it happens, so that when it happens, you may believe.

⁴ But I have said these things to you so that when their hour comes, you may remember that I told you about them.
