¹⁵ David reigned over all of Israel, and he* was administering justice and righteousness for all his people.

¹² Abner sent messengers to David _⌊where he was_⌋,* saying, "To whom does the land belong? _⌊Make your covenant with me_⌋!* Look, my hand is with you to bring all of Israel over to you!"

⁵ He reigned over Judah at Hebron for seven years and six months; and he reigned over all Israel and Judah at Jerusalem for thirty-three years.

³ The God of Israel said to me, the rock of Israel has spoken; 'He who rules over mankind rules righteously, in the fear of God. ⁴ Like the light of the morning when the sun rises, shining with no clouds, bringing vegetation from the earth apart from rain.'*

¹⁴ So David reigned over all Israel, and _⌊he administered justice_⌋* and righteousness to all his people.

⁶ Your throne, O God, is forever and ever. A scepter of uprightness is the scepter of your kingdom. ⁷ You love righteousness and hate wickedness. Therefore God, your God, has anointed you from among your companions with festive oil.

² May he judge your people with righteousness, and your poor with justice.

⁷¹ He brought him from following nursing ewes to shepherd Jacob, his people, and Israel, his inheritance. ⁷² And he shepherded them according to the integrity of his heart, and led them by the skillfulness of his hands.

¹⁴ Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne. Loyal love and faithfulness* come before your face.*

¹ Of David. A psalm.*
I will sing of loyal love and justice; I will sing praises to you, O Yahweh. ² I will give attention to the way of integrity. When will you come to me? I will walk in the integrity of my heart in the midst of my house. ³ I will not set before my eyes any wicked thing. I hate the work of those who fall away;* it will not cling to me. ⁴ A perverse heart will depart from me; I will not know evil. ⁵ One who slanders his neighbor in secret, him I will destroy. One haughty of eyes and _⌊arrogant_⌋* of heart, him I will not endure. ⁶ My eyes will be on the faithful of the land, that they may live with me. He who walks in the way of integrity, he shall minister to me. ⁷ There will not live in the midst of my house a worker of deceit. One who speaks lies will not remain* before my eyes. ⁸ _⌊Each morning_⌋,* I will destroy all the wicked of the land, cutting off from the city of Yahweh all evildoers.

⁷ _⌊His dominion will grow continually, and to peace there will be no end_⌋* on* the throne of David and over* his kingdom, to establish it* and sustain it with justice and righteousness now and forever. The zeal of Yahweh of hosts will do this.

¹⁵ Do you reign as king because you are competing in cedar? Did not your father eat and drink, and he did justice and righteousness, then it was well with him? ¹⁶ He judged the legal cause of the needy and the poor, and then it was well. _⌊Is that not what it means to know me_⌋?*" _⌊declares_⌋* Yahweh.

⁵ "Look, days are coming," _⌊declares_⌋* Yahweh, "when I will raise up for David a righteous branch, and he will reign as king, and he will achieve success, and he will do justice and righteousness in the land. ⁶ In his days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell _⌊in safety_⌋,* and this is his name by which he will be called: 'Yahweh is our righteousness.'

¹⁵ Hate evil and love good and establish justice in the gate; perhaps Yahweh, the God of hosts, will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph.

²⁴ But let justice roll on like the water, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.
